CUDAHY IS NOT UNIQUE.
Now that the cat's out of the bag on Cudahy, I guess it's time to elaborate on the dynamics as explained in the excellent article in the LA Weekly. We can thank the new editorial management at the Weekly for the straightforward delivery of facts without the usual navel gazing and spin.

If you haven't read the piece, do it.

To put it bluntly, Cudahy has been thoroughly corrupted by criminal forces from south of the border. And it wasn't an accident. It was an organized and well-planned campaign to take control of the city government, neutralize the police force and create legitimate front businesses for illegal activities. It's a model that, over the decades, has been field-tested, refined and honed to perfection in Mexican border towns. The goal is to spawn replicants of those towns on this side of the border, create safe havens for the importation of drugs and organize launching pads for other forms of illegal activity. Weasel's presence in Cudahy is no mere coincidence. In the fullness of time, the moves behind the attempt on his life will probably reveal some interesting connections.

In addition to Cudahy, there are a few other municipalities that need to be closely scrutinized. If their offices don't get fired bombed first, maybe the Weekly can be induced to publicize more of these cartel outposts.

I will give a hint which other town needs to be looked at closely. The first initial and last initial are M.........aywood. The thing you will notice about these towns is that the leadership is mostly Mexican. I not sure if all the politicians are willing corrupt or some are too stupid to know what is happening in their towns.

The very large mexican dance club El Rodeo Night Club in Pico Rivera Is owned by mexican narco-traffickers. The funny /ironic thing is that the club was featured in the movie Collateral (2004) with Tom Cruise and Jaime Fox. In the Collateral movie Jaime Fox walks into the Rodeo and talks to the narco- trafficker owner. It was art imitating life, I could not believe what I was seeing. I guess the drug dealers have a sense of humor or big balls. So the other city with shady characters is Pico Rivera.

The mexican cartels know very well how to get into politics and legal business just like the east coast Italian Mafias. If you already own bars, night-clubs and shopping centers in Mexico it is easy to send some of your management staff to open a business in California. The Alameda Swap-meet in south Los Angeles is another place rumored to be owned by narco- traffickers.

Many mexican drug dealers are big spenders in the LA hostess clubs and "Fichera" clubs. If you want to know what business the drug dealers own you just need to ask the female employees of these clubs. Most mexican drug dealers can’t help but brag about what they own especially when they are drunk and want to impress the ladies. There are many “legal” businesses owned by them here in Los Angeles.

I'm think our two resident loco liberals SNS and Don Q. need to do a ride along with the LAPD to get a real view of what being an LAPD cop is really like. But the old cholo might have a hard time getting a permit from the police or might have a panic attack being close to the boogie men LAPD. And SNS would pee his pantalones if he had to take a scroll thur a place like Ramona Gardens or Nickerson Gardens.

We have women braver than these two payasos.

Addition to Most Wanted List Announced

Fernando Araujo, 19, is a member of the Canoga Park Alabama (CPA) criminal street gang in the San Fernando Valley. An arrest warrant for attempted murder was issued for him after he was implicated in the August 26, 2006, drive-by shooting of an 18-year-old college football player, who was standing outside a youth center near Deering Avenue and Gault Street. Araujo is also implicated in a second drive-by shooting from August, and is wanted as a material witness in a third shooting.

Those are some strong allegations being leveled against the Rodeo Night Club owner. This seems to be the case against Mexicans that own and operate successful businesses. I have some business friends that have to hear that same type of shit thrown at them, but it doesn't faze them at all. I'm sure that it's the same with this guy. Anyways, having been to the Rodeo many times I have to say that that movie Collateral didn't do it any justice. The place looked dead not crowded the way it always is. And what was up with that music in the background? Instead of some Sinaloa style Banda bumping Corridos they had some mellow Luis Miguel type shit on. Pretty good movie though.

I trip out when cops talk about how hard their job is and how brave they are. It's a JOB that you guys are trained to perform if it's too hard you can always quit. You are given guns and bulletproof vests if you don't grow some balls with that then you never had them to begin with. To make it seem like you guys are some kind of supermen/women only works on first graders. You guys have the same vices, habits and problems as anyone else. A little humility looks better on you guys don't you think?

I think some of the cops here need go on a ride along in some of the communities they love to speak for without a uniform, and with a media person, and listen to the answers when the media person asks the citizens in each community what they'd rather work toward, a police state approach to supressing gangs, or peace amongst the gangs?

Mexican Cartels have infiltrated the government of a city in Los Angeles county about the size of a football field? Good for them. The Mexicans there, who are the original Californians, will probably be safer with the cartel running the city than they would with whites running it.

Oh, how did the cartels pull this off? My guess is that they took a lead from Halliburton and George W. Bush's 2000 Presidential campaign. Is there a better textbook?

I'll be visiting Cudahy on my next trip to SoCal. I'll hit up the first Mexican resturaunt I see and get my usual, Carnitas and an ice cold Tecate. Then, I'm going to get a new set of tires from the nearest tire shop, one with a spanish name. I'm getting the best product for the lowest price, just like WalMart shoppers. The only difference is, the immigrants doing the manual labor for my services will actually be getting a tip.

To anonymous who wished the feds would clean up the sewer governments, are you hoping this includes Los Angeles, and it's police department? Compared to all LE agencies nationwide, you can easily consider the LAPD the official sewer of them all.

Personally, I'm waiting for the good citizens of this country to clean out that sewer government in washington. Again, Cudahy is only taking a page out of the neo-conservative playbook. Every lick they pulled to get a hold of Cudahy is carbon copy of what the oil industry did to get their guy into the white house.

Wally, you're damned right Cudahy is not unique.

Read the Project for a new American Century's (PNAC) platform in 2000, about their need for a large attack so the they can get America to support a middle east military campaign, then read the signore list and see all of the people who wound up with positions in Bush's cabinet. If any of you are Bush supporters, you should be proud of Cudahy. They're fast learners.

El Rodeo night club, Pico Rivera. Got it. Now I know where to have a good time. And, I'm not afraid to get killed. I can get killed in New York City, with an airplane flying into a building. But, I know it won't happen. Very few people get killed, per capita, even in L.A.'s poorest areas. The odds are practically zero if you're not playing hard ball with the wrong crowd, where I won't be. I'm a paying civilian customer, buying legal items, therefore, if there is such a front, I'm making myself part of the front. I want to see how good the margaritas are, and how fine the hynas are. Shit, if drug dealers are running the place, you know the ladies will be hot, a helluva lot hotter than than the desperate houswife skanks that hang out at the cop bars. And, I'll be sure to set my spending limit at $50. That way, in case I did wind up giving my money to a criminal enterprise, it wasn't as much as you guys gave to yet another criminal enterprise, with the gas you pumped into your SUV.

I'll get a pic of Foxx and Cruise's autographed portrait for you guys. I'll send it to "Good Girls Gotta Love the Gangsters" at myspace, and she'll post it. She responded to my friend request. We're friends now. Plus, I KNOW you guys will see the pics of my tourism of Cudahy and Pico if I send them there. You weirdos live at that site as it is.

I see that here in Wally’s world we have a new Latino spokesman SNS (loco liberal gabacho) it used to be Don Q. (old crazy cholo). I can not speak for every Mexican but I can sure speak for myself.

I will start with SNS comment which was “another aging member of an ethic minority that harbored a grudge with his own race”. First I have to give you a little background about myself. I am 58 years old and was born in Mexico I came to this country as a teenager. Growing up in Texas we lived in a two room (not two bedrooms) house with six siblings and both parents. My brothers and I usually slept outside on cots. We often just had tortillas and beans to eat. So I know what real poverty is. You have to remember Texas did not have the welfare system California has back then. We moved to California when I was in high school. Here in California most of us continued to work hard in school and five of us went on to graduate from colleges here in California. Luckily tuition for California State colleges back in the 70’s and 80’s were fairly inexpensive.

I read many posts by SNS and Don Q. criticizing our government and blaming them for all the problems of gangs. Well no government in the world is perfect and President Bush may even be the worst president in the world. And yes Halliburton probably made billions from the Iraq war. But that is not the main reason we have so many stupid and lazy kids in gangs and not graduating from High Schools. I would hold more parents to blame.

There are some people who will never be successful in life because they are just plain lazy, we all have a few relatives like that. I have a few cousins who can invent a thousand reasons why they can NOT work.

I visit relatives in Mexico who live in little pueblos where you take a shower outside with a garden hose. And you do not see gangs there. And believe me many relatives from Mexico want to come here no matter how bad you cry babies think it is here. In case you have not noticed, many people from Mexico are willing to risk their lives to come here.

So yes I am probably one of those “aging member of an ethic minority that harbored a grudge with his own race”. When I see the young Mexican American kids today not taking advantage of the all the opportunities this country has to offer, well then yes you can say I hold a grudge. I wish I could bring the really poor Mexican kids who want to study and work hard to the U.S. and would appreciate the advantages the kids have in this country.

Not every mexican kid in a gang is living in the worst projects of Los Angeles. Gangs are found all over California and also all over the Country. Many of these stupid Cholo kids have many pairs of shoes to wear, fancy name clothes, Ipods, cell-phones, and even have computers to gang bang on the internet (what a waste). So SNS you are right I can get mad, because I know what it is to be very poor and know many poor kids who would risk their lives to come to this country to have what these dumb gang members have.

And by the way Texas was one of the most racist states back in the 50’s and 60’s but me and my brothers still went to school and worked hard everyday and did not make excuses. And when we came to Los Angeles we still worked hard in school even though the LAPD of the 70’s had dick head cops. I got harassed by cops plenty of times for being brown but that did not make me join a gang or be a fuck up in life.

You see us aging members of the ethnic minority lived thru those times you only read about in books and magazines. As I get older in life I appreciate more and more all the hard work and sacrifices my mother made for us. I am so glad my mother took us to church and made us study and was not a stupid cholo mother. SNS I know you like to defend the cholo mothers but I will not defend any one who is probably raising the next kid to fail in life.

Officers face Life
Officers face life in prison for running diamonds, drugs for fake Mafia

It started with one Hollywood police officer interested in doing the bidding of a New York crime family for cash, authorities said. As the stakes grew, they say he enlisted what he called some "old school" cops he knew would want in.

Federal authorities on Friday released detailed charges against four Hollywood officers in an investigation dubbed "Operation Tarnished Badge," accusing the four of protecting and transporting stolen diamonds, artwork, bonds and heroin for undercover FBI agents pretending to be involved in organized crime.

The officers face up to life in prison for accepting sums of money authorities concede instead could have easily and legally been made with overtime. But the officers kept taking on riskier off-duty jobs for larger payouts, according to the federal complaint against them. Authorities said the four joked about being in the Mafia, promised to use their clout as police officers if they ran into trouble, and used police equipment and techniques to help the agents they thought were mobsters.

Identified as the ringleader was Detective Kevin Companion, 41, who met with undercover FBI agents in late 2004. He recruited Sgt. Jeffry Courtney, 51; Officer Stephen Harrison, 46; and Detective Thomas Simcox, 50. All are charged with extortion by using their public positions, and conspiracy and attempted possession of a controlled substance with the intent to distribute.

In total, the complaint says, Companion was paid $42,000; Courtney $22,000; Simcox $16,000; and Harrison $12,000. They each make between $66,000 and $89,000 a year in their police jobs.

Companion, Courtney and Harrison appeared before U.S. Magistrate Lurana Snow in federal count in Fort Lauderdale on Friday morning. All three looked dejected. Companion, hands cuffed, dabbed at tears with his sleeves. Snow set bond at $350,000 for Companion; $375,000 for Courtney; and $300,000 for Harrison. None of them had posted bail early Friday night, detention officials said. Simcox has not yet been arrested.

Companion's attorney René Sotorrío called the charges "a horrible tragedy" for his client's family, which has a tradition in law enforcement, but he declined to comment on the charges. Courtney's and Harrison's attorneys could not be reached for comment later Friday.

Simcox may turn himself in to federal authorities as soon as Monday, said his attorney, Bruce Udolf. Udolf declined to comment on the charges or say whether Simcox is cooperating with authorities.

The FBI received "information based on reliable sources" about illegal activity at the department about 21/2 years ago, U.S. Attorney Alex Acosta said at a news conference in Fort Lauderdale. Authorities declined to describe the information, but said Companion first met with an undercover agent in December 2004. The jobs were small at first: collection of an illegal gambling debt, protecting the sale of stolen watches.

To pull off more lucrative deals, agents told Companion he needed more muscle, according to the federal complaint. Companion replied he knew some "old school guys" willing to do the jobs, the complaint says.

Companion recruited Courtney, according to authorities, and Courtney helped in April 2005 to escort $400,000 in stolen money through Broward County with his Hollywood Police Department-issued motorcycle. Two months later, authorities said, Companion and Courtney drove $400,000 in stolen bonds to New York City. On the way, the duo passed a car with a license plate that read "mafia guy." The two later joked to agents that the officers "should have been riding in that vehicle," authorities said.

Companion brought in Simcox and Harrison in November 2005 and in the following months the officers protected an illegal, high-stakes gambling operation, delivered $1 million in stolen diamonds and artwork to Atlantic City, N.J., and helped steal a truckload of cigarettes, authorities said.

On Nov. 29, 2006, the officers agreed to escort several kilos of heroin from Miami Beach through Broward , the complaint says. Authorities said that at a meeting with an agent at a Miami Beach hotel, Simcox would only discuss the deal on the balcony. One officer, who was not named, wanted them to use the codeword "jewelry" for drugs.

The deal took place without a hitch the next day, authorities said.

Authorities said they had video and audio recordings of nearly every meeting and job the officers did. Acosta said no one was hurt during the sting.

Hollywood police officers openly wept when they heard of news of the arrests Thursday, said Police Chief Jim Scarberry. Three of the four officers have faced departmental scrutiny before.

"They're as sickened about this as I was when I first heard about it," Scarberry said. Scarberry, who was named chief in 1999, said later, "We know there have been some problems, but we've worked hard to change the culture here, and there is a big difference."

Companion was named in a federal sexual harassment lawsuit filed in 1994, which the city settled with a woman for $205,000. Courtney's hiring came under fire after a 1995 department-wide investigation revealed he had been arrested twice. He also accidentally shot a sergeant in 1991 while working as a Pembroke Pines officer.

Simcox was convicted of battery in 1996 for grabbing and slapping a 9-year-old boy who mocked him at a Boynton Beach daycare center while the officer was off duty. The incident led to a one-month suspension from the department without pay and he was kicked off a countywide organized crime taskforce.

Douglas K. Haas, a former Fort Lauderdale lieutenant and Broward Sheriff's Office lieutenant colonel, ran the now-disbanded Metropolitan Organized Crime Intelligence Unit and said Simcox was on the taskforce for less than a year.

"He wasn't in a position at MIU where he could have hurt us," Haas said. "But it's still disconcerting."

Becoming Illegal (Letter from a Maryland resident to his Senator)

The Honorable Paul S. Sarbanes
309 Hart Senate Office Building
Washington , DC 20510

Dear Senator Sarbanes,

As a native Marylander and excellent customer of the Internal Revenue Service, I am writing to ask for your assistance. I have contacted the Department of Homeland Security in an effort to determine the process for becoming an illegal alien and they referred me to you.

My primary reason for wishing to change my status from U.S. Citizen to illegal alien stems from the bill which was recently passed by the Senate , for which you voted. If my understanding of this bill's provisions is accurate, as an illegal alien who has been in the United States for five years, all I need to do, to become a citizen, is to pay a $2,000 fine and income taxes for three of the last five years. I know a good deal when I see one and I am anxious to get the process started before everyone figures it out.

Simply put, those of us who have been here legally have had to pay taxes every year, so I'm excited about the prospect of avoiding two years of taxes in return for paying a $2,000 fine. Is there any way that I can apply to be illegal retroactively? This would yield an excellent result for me and my family because we paid heavy taxes in 2004 and 2005.

Additionally, as an illegal alien I could begin using the local emergency room as my primary health care provider. Once I have stopped paying premiums for medical insurance, my accountant figures I could save almost $10,000 a year. Another benefit in gaining illegal status would be that my daughter would receive preferential treatment relative to her law school applications, as well as "in-state" tuition rates for many colleges throughout the United States for my son.

Lastly, I understand that illegal status would relieve me of the burden of renewing my driver's license and making those burdensome car insurance premiums. This is very important to me given that I still have college age children driving my car.

If you would provide me with an outline of the process to become illegal (retroactively if possible) and copies of the necessary forms, I would be most appreciative. Thank you for your assistance.

Your Loyal Constituent,

Pete McGlaughlin

On a related note: Has anyone seen the comparison pictures of the Governator that are floating on the Web? It's a shot of him posing in his prime and a recent candid shot of him in his Speedos lookin BAD! I mean I drove iron hard for a few yrs, and even after 20 yrs idle (w/ moderate exercise) have'nt regressed to his pitiful state. Gava Joe I have to give you a geography lesson, the cops you mentioned are from Hollywood, Florida the state where Mickey Mouse runs Orlando like a Mexican drug cartel leader. Mickey has all the local politicians in his pocket and controls the local economy. There is now international concern that he may be trying to control politicians in Anaheim, Tokyo, Paris, and even Hong Kong.

But the federal government has started an investigation in Mickey’s criminal activities. He has been a difficult character to investigate because he has many people wearing a disguise to look just like him. This has been a very clever technique used by Mickey to avoid surveillance against him. The FBI has launched an international investigation into his criminal activities.

Wally’s post is supposed to be about Los Angeles gangs, cops and politicians but some people like to point out criminal activity by police worldwide not just Los Angeles. Let us hope White Bread and others Mexican haters do not start posting the criminal activities of Latino gangs everywhere in the country because the post will be numerous.

So people please let’s keep our posts about the Los Angeles area so Gava Joe does not get confused

Just back (the traveling cholo as coined by "Southern Gent", I like it!) from making a living working (hey it's hard out there being a pimp!) but this old Chicano still likes to hustle up a buck!
Some good posts to read and digest.

I see we are still being entertained by "mr. anononmous" aka mad mexican, ect; ect;, LAPD's most illustrious "token mexican" spokesman, who brings tears to our old eye's with his thrilling stories of yester-year and the self made, no help from Tio Sam, story of success beginning in Mexico (very poor of course!) on to Texas and LAPD or some other LE related jale. Gee whiz what a unique history.
Why is it that so many Texas Mexicans (except for El Paso and San Antonio) have the same old "line? "I did it why can't you?"
They did it, usually using the Gov't and other public resources, public schools, playgrounds, library's, hospitals, etc; etc;, then almost always joining the military and really getting the "I wanna be a gringo" brainwash treatment, then looking for a gringa wife, (or a Chicana who dies her hair blonde, then joining some police dept. or other gov't jale,(Socialism in denial!) and then boasting about how tough they had it, how they made it by themselves, and why can't the rest of you dumb Mexicans do it on your own!

Mr. Police Spokesman aka Mad Mexican, Tired of being anonomous,et al ad naseum, who seems to think all the gang problems we have are due to "Cholo Parents" and some sort of "hereditarial Pachucoism" that is genetic in nature, funny they always really hate the word "Chicano", seems to think no Cholos or gangs exist in Mexico, and is your typical right wing republican Mexican American with all it's weird physcological ramifications.

Hey "Anonomous" or whatever your flavor of the day, the gang problem is due to a large variety of problems including poverty, Gov't neglect, racism, cultural exploitation, poor education, drug use,a selective and punitive justice system, and above all ignorance and denial by a Society that is being consumed by the growing gang problem in many areas not only Los Angeles.
Hiding ones head in the sand, or denial and or belief in some simple minded solution (it's the Chola Mother's fault!) will only insure that gangs will continue to spread throughout the country and world (including Mexico) as has been occuring for the past 50 years.

Again the biggest criminal gang we have going is the Bush/Cheney cabal, how much feria do they need?
Impeachment and RICO charges asap!
