ROCKY SHUTS DOWN ANOTHER ONE.
Making good on his promise to dismantle local gang "headquarters" and dope emporiums, Rocky D. shut down a dope house in Pacoima yesterday and forced the owners to take down hardened and soft covers that were erected to prevent visual observation. The last one he took down on Drew Street seemed like a PR stunt and some of you wondered aloud if that take down was one-time phenomenon. Apparently not. The Harvard grad and former resident of HP who grew up being regularly robbed and tormented by Avenues seems to be dead serious about his job. It looks like Rocky wants to acquire his cape and utility belt the old fashioned way - he wants to earn it.

While Rocky is getting the face time in the media, you have to wonder about the total absence of DA Steve Cooley. Traditionally, felony prosecutions are generally the domain of the DA's office, not the City Attorney's office. After doing a little snooping, there appears to be a revolt in the DA ranks. Cooley has been missing in action and the deputy DAs, according to some, have been actively discouraged from filing cases. One rumor is that Cooley issued orders to DAs to reduce their filings by 20 percent. In addition, Cooley and his minions are encouraging DAs to plead cases down to absurd levels, essentially giving good cases away just to get them off their desks. This is not only making DAs crazy, it's also demoralizing cops who see their work in putting strong cases together vanish in a weak plea agreement. The only people who seem happy with this trend at the DA's office are the public defenders.

We've heard some incredibly strange tales coming out of Cooley's office that we can't report on until they're verified but they sound scary. More on this later.

On an unrelated topic, many thanks to the commenters who are maintaining an elevated level of discourse. For the disgruntled who are seeing their comments bounced, please reflect not on what you say, but how you say it. Telling somebody that he has his head up his ass is not an argument. It's an ad hominem attack that does nothing to advance the discussion. Also, we're getting sharper on detecting people posting under other people's handle. We're getting wise to that and bouncing those too.

“Academia is full of separatist, anti-American, flag burning heretics, we will close the school down immediately”

(Perhaps by ‘immediately they meant when hell freezes over)

Academia is a terrorist maddrassa, it will be closed

(…tick…tock)

We will prove illegal conduct and mishandling of funds at the school and will have its doors closed

(well, if you count weekends, you may have something there to claim)

blah blah blog.

A mountain of lies proved no match for the simple truth.

The school was started by the community, to fill a need in our community. We encourage all parents to do the same. Education isn’t one size fits all, make it work for you.

By the way senor Sam, thanks to your ranting, we gained a world of supporters; thumbs up brother.

Greetings from the World School in East Los Angeles,we'l send you a postcard from the future you can't stop.

the system is screwed, it seems like no matter what the politicians say they will do or not do it always ends up getting even worst, its like a paradox, you lock up the criminals and then you run out of room to store them so you end up letting some out on the other side, this doesnt affect the politicians stats because it still looks like they locked up all the criminals but they never tell you they let out just as many more, and then like some people were saying in the previous blog they lock up a bunch of soft peewees for 6-18 month sentences and that puts them through cholo university free of charge, then they get out and are on probabtion so even if they keep their nose clean and just violate once by not calling in or missing school or being sweated by cops when theyre hanging with more than one cholo they get locked up again, then when people come up with programs to help these excons they always end up being corrupt and unsupervised so they are actually eme storefronts, the cops that have to put up with this for a couple of years lose their motivation, the community loses its trust in the system, and that just causes even more kids to join gangs, after all thats said im glad i left cali,,lol,,
i had to go to school up in ohio for like four months so i havent even been in bville since new years, im the only one that moves to texas and in the dead of winter decides to go to ohio, then when people in south padre island are getting it on im up here in wack ass toledo, i seen a report on geraldo at large about spi, i was like dam it, well i got the rest of my life to go to spring breaks there, lol, i got a sweet life working in the merchant marines, ive been to alot of countries and all over the usa, then on my off time ive done some travelling, i went to the base at mcmurdo in antartica, low in behold i ran into some vato from colonia chica working there as a maintenance guy, seems kinda lame but homie was making feria, there was a guanaca from dc that was from mara there, she was in the navy, yeah its really a small world, i was in miami for like one month in 2002 and ran into these fools from pico viejo that where djaying over there, had a whole LA klika there when i was there, like an old timer told me once, just take the money and run,
anyways on some whole other subject did anybody else notice the xv3gang website is gone, i wonder if the eme or the ogs from 18 told the fools to take it down, they were from north side too the ones that made it, it was dope but i could see how it could be counterproductive to have a site about your criminal organization, clantons playboys and mid city are still around, alright peeps later

This is a forum for serous issues not a forum for a person such as Professor Irwin CrackHead to post comments while under the influence of PCP. So I do not find drug induced ramblings entertaining in the least.

I am personally concerned with the racial hatred and prejudice exhibited here by Mexicans towards us blacks. It is very ironic how you Mexicans have the same prejudice towards us as you claim Whites have toward Blacks. Blacks are each individuals with a different personality and attitude we are not “rude and condescending mayates working at civil servant jobs” as you think.

We are locked up and killed at a higher rate than any other race. This reminds me of a quote from Mark Twain “show me your prisons and I will show you the exploited persons”. How true this is, we blacks have been exploited and hated and discriminated by whites and now by Mexicans. And the Mexican kids now killing our innocent blacks in the streets like the new KKK.

Odd, is it not, how the timing correlates (not causation) with my PSA on March 25. I can see where the human desire comes into wanting to brag about one's achievements, but the downside are many of having an open and freely accessible website or webpage that discusses criminal activity in the midst of a "gang crackdown."

To Wally,

Which is true? Someone just posted the Los Angels Times article about the D.A. seeking felony charges against taggers. Then our local cholo spokesman rants about how we are locking up and giving to much jail time to the poor cholos.

The recent Los Angeles Times article quotes Deputy Dist. Atty. Bill Ryder who works out of Van Nuys office as seeking felony charges instead of misdemeanor charges against some gang members tagging an apartment building.

So are the D.A. prosecutors being overzealous or not filing cases, which is it? And now that federal agents are working with local law enforcement in the 11 hot zones, I would think they would also be upset about any cases being quickly dismissed as you mentioned. The FBI is not going to sit quietly after using its resources to help the local cops.

L.A. gang prosecutions called overzealous
Lawyers cite enhanced charges for such minor crimes as vandalism. The D.A.'s office calls the practice 'appropriate.'

But, Deputy Dist. Atty. Bill Ryder filed four felony vandalism charges with gang enhancements against each man, bumping their bail to $200,000 and above

If you go back and read the old posts someone here claimed responsibility for shutting down the xv3gang.com web-site and forum by posting junk and hacking their web-site. Not sure if he actually did this but he seemed to know who the moderators of the web-site were. He even gave us the MySpace accounts of a couple of old cholas who he claimed moderated that site. It was pretty entertaining and disgusting to see the older cholas accounts with a bunch of cholo kid friends.

And of course the oldschoolfool Don Cholo was telling him that web-sites like xv3gang.com are just for people to talk about their barrio. I guess some Cholos/Mexicans think this as normal behavior for their wives and kids. And we wonder why the cholo lifestyle is so prevalent here in Los Angeles.

City to close drug 'market,' pursue funds
Anti-gang efforts in court, seeking help from the state
BY RICK COCA and HARRISON SHEPPARD, Staff Writers
Article Last Updated: 03/30/2007 01:45:45 AM PDT

At the LAPD's Foothill Division in Pacoima, Los Angeles City Attorney Rocky Delgadillo announced that his office would seek court orders against two gang members and the owners of two adjacent single-family homes in the 13200 block of Filmore Street.

"Right in the middle of an otherwise quiet and decent neighborhood, members of the Front Street Crips, a criminal street gang, have used this property as a supermarket for narcotic sales," Delgadillo said.

Delgadillo said he would seek court orders to prevent Larry Atkins and Charles Nero, gang members suspected of selling drugs from the homes, from coming within 500 feet of the properties.

Atkins and Nero are already in custody awaiting trial on drug-related charges.

The city will also seek an order requiring the property owners, Jacqueline Atkins and Mkrtich Mendikyan, to prohibit loitering and remove all obstructions on or surrounding the property, including opaque fencing, screen doors or tarps.

Between June 2005 and February 2007, undercover Los Angeles Police Department officers made 38 arrests stemming from activity at the homes, seizing cocaine, marijuana, weapons and ammunition, police said. Thirteen of those arrested were known gang members. Meanwhile, Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa and Police Chief William Bratton traveled to Sacramento along with their counterparts across the state to discuss ways of combating street crime at a meeting called by Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger.

Schwarzenegger said he wants to focus on a variety of strategies, including providing alternatives to youths such as after-school programs and better career education.

"What we want to do is really declare war on gang violence and on gangs all over the state of California," Schwarzenegger said.

And he told the mayors: "You can count on the state. We're going to work with you. You're not out there by yourself."

In the 1990s, Bratton said, cities were successful in reducing gang violence thanks to strong partnerships with state and local governments, but some of that cooperation has faded.

"(In the 1990s) we got it right," said Bratton, the former New York City police chief who is credited with a major crime reduction there.

"Then after 9-11, the federal government dropped off the Earth - and basically went to war across the ocean, and forgot about the wars we're fighting at home."

Villaraigosa in the past has pressed the governor to create a new statewide anti-gang program that would provide at least $30 million to Los Angeles over three years to create 10 gang-reduction zones, with additional law enforcement resources as well as youth programs.

He said that request did not come up in Thursday's meeting.

Villaraigosa added that one consensus among the mayors and other officials was that additional law enforcement alone is not enough.

"We've got to deal with the root causes of crime," Villaraigosa said. "You've got to have prevention, intervention. That means after-school programs, apprenticeship programs. That means summer youth jobs, training programs for youth."

Back in the San Fernando Valley, residents blamed crime on illegal immigrants and called for tougher policing and swifter deportation procedures.

"It seems like every time there is a crime, it's an illegal alien," said an unidentified woman who attended a Los Angeles Police Commission meeting in Sun Valley.

"It's important that we ... (show) respect to various ... communities of the city ... and respect one another," said John W. Mack, president of the Police Commission

To Wally,

Why are you dogging on Steve Cooley. I heard he is personally handling a very important high profile case right now. He is seeking justice against a menace greater than any EME member could ever pose to our society. Who am I talking about just imagine a criminal who has been on the news many times and has polluted the minds of many youths. This menace has been spreading her evil though out the country, something EME members can only dream about doing. Yes I am talking about the greatest menace to our freedom and way of life; Paris Hilton. And Phil Spector I will see after the trial for drinks.

Authorities move to revoke Hilton's probation
From the Associated Press
March 30, 2007

District Attorney Steve Cooley in Los Angeles said Thursday that they would ask a judge to revoke Paris Hilton's probation in a reckless-driving case, a move that could lead to a jail term.

The decision followed an investigation into whether the hotel heiress and reality-TV star violated terms of her probation by driving last month with a suspended license.

"We're confident we have sufficient evidence to prove that her license was suspended and that she had knowledge of that suspension," said Steve Cooley Los Angeles County District attorney. He declined to elaborate on the evidence, citing an ongoing investigation.

The following is what I keep getting bounced. I have tried posting twice now. I know it may not be the most thought-invoking but its better than a lot of stuff you do post...one more time

Regarding police brutality:
If I was in charge of coming up with a solution in how to deal with the gang problem, I would ask myself "What makes these guys tick"? Gangsters get their juice from instilling fear in both their rivals and contemporaries by being ruthless (does anyone here disagree?) Huero McGhee didn't attain his status from his calming bedside manner for sure. So would it not make perfect sense as LE to deal with the hardcore guys as brutally and violently as possible? This is the only thing that gang members understand and there's some vatos here that know I'm not full of shit. It's an old-school war mindset that makes these guys tick - you and I will fight and I might not come out the winner and I'll still hate you, but you have still earned my respect. Cops are neither parents nor social workers. They are here to enforce the laws that most of us adhere to. The ones who choose a way of life that demands thumbing their noses at these laws must be dealt with with a different set of kid gloves. What's the outcome? Simply, it will make them think twice before acting. Repercussions. Even dogs can be taught this concept. Smack a dog for shitting in the same place enough, he'll shit in another spot. Civil human rights should be extended only to those who act CIVIL and HUMANE. I say bring back CRASH.

it seems to me that rocky is going against the avenues gang because he was harassed when he was younger... So this man is bringing down his tormentors of his past just to satisfies his own rage....

The Avenues are bunch of hoods away. If Rocky D. was tormented by them when he was younger, it would make retribution alot sweeter on his part. Who knows if this is even true, everyone knows that anyone who's involved with gangs lives more off the "chisme" than off being hard core.
