G-RIDE GOING UPSCALE.
You know you're doing something right if your G-ride is a Mercedes. While going through some recent documents, we came across an incident in which a Reseda SS was busted in the act of tagging a wall by undercover West Valley cops. What surprised the cops was the twenty-something tagger's ride -- a three-year-old Mercedes 320 SUV. Very clean. Freshly detailed. And not stolen. It was registered to the tagger. The giant RSS he hit the wall with exceeded the $400 threshold of misdemeanor vandalism so the Mercedes owner/tagger is facing felony vandalism. Apparently the tagger already had an I-card on file and was not a wannabe.

This incident has to tell you something about 1) The state of the economy when even local G-Sters can afford rides the average citizen cant't 2) The amount of money available on the streets or 3) Poverty may not be a significant causal component of illegal activity. Take your pick. I'm confused.

Wally,

Many cholos are not poor or abused kids, they just grow up around gangs and it’s almost a cultural thing. I grew up around many people who confuse brown-pride with being a cholo, if your friends from the varrio are gang-banging you just follow along. You have to remember if you see this everyday it just slowly becomes a way of life which you do not even see as criminal behavior or abnormal behavior after a while. I am sure you arelready know some old cholo talking about his varrio with pride even though he moved to New Mexico years ago.

I am also sure you find the whole range of reasons people are into gangs, just like an alcoholic can come from all different walks of life.

++++++++++++++++++++++

Interesting story in L.A. times homicide report about a father “Ortiz, a compact, solidly built man with faded tattoos on his neck” who sounds like a cholo with tattoos on his neck, doing the car-wash thing after the death of his son. I have probably seen over a hundred of these car-wash memorials in my life-time. I wonder how much time the cholo fathers spend with their sons trying to keep them out of gangs?

http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/homicidereport/2007/04/dispatch_homici_1.html#more

Homicide Car Wash

Four days after his son's death, Carlos Ortiz stood on a street corner in Florence, waving rags at passing cars.

The event was a fund-raising car wash to help cover funeral expenses for 16-year-old Andrew, a Cudahy homicide victim (see "Weekend Homicide" below). Such homicide car washes have long been common in crime-racked neighborhoods of Los Angeles, though they may become less so.

The tradition exists because homicide preys on the poor, and bereaved families typically had trouble covering the expenses of a sudden burial. For them, the car wash was both a way to raise cash, and a kind of memorial.

Families of people murdered in L.A. street violence had an especially hard time. That's because victims' compensation funds, which are disbursed by government agencies, were effectively off limits to those whose murdered son or daughter had been on probation or parole.

The policy sought to avoid rewarding criminal behavior. But the result was to deny payments to those communities most affected by homicide.

That's because homicide happens mostly among minority groups living in areas with high rates of all kinds of serious crime, and high police-to-civilian ratios.

People interact with their police in these neighborhoods all their lives, with the result that, among cops, it's cause for comment if a young man has somehow managed not to accumulate a rap sheet. It is of course among this same population that homicide rages like an epidemic.

The effect of victims' compensation policies, then, was to leave many law-abiding parents of homicide victims scratching for money to pay for funerals. But last year, legislation sponsored by state Assemblyman Mark Leno, D-San Francisco, clarified the victims' compensation rules, ensuring that parents who were not felons could collect burial money, even if their lost loved ones were on felony probation or parole. The bill also raised the amount for homicide burials from $5,000 to $7,500, more in line with market costs, said Miles Bristow, spokesman for the state Victim Compensation and Government Claims Board.

Victims' advocates working in L.A. police stations immediately saw a benefit: They no longer have to turn away grieving, impoverished parents of murdered probationers and parolees--a task some said they dreaded. (Now, said one such worker, they only have to turn away probationers and parolees left paralyzed, maimed or comatose from gunfire, since these victims still don't qualify for aid).

Ortiz wasn't hampered by victim compensation policies. His son was a student at an adult school, and the family has been told they would receive funds.

So this car wash was more a confirmation of tradition than anything else. Born of need, the car wash has now joined other familiar trappings of homicide grief, such as airbrushed T-shirts and votive candles in glass jars. Granted, the family could use the extra money, Ortiz said. But the event was mostly to help draw attention to the son who was "barely starting his young little life," Ortiz said. "He was a very gentle guy, very polite."

Friends and family members spent hours Thursday waving handwritten cardboard signs that read "R.I.P. Drew", and yelling, "Car wash!" from the corner of Hooper and Florence avenues. A steady stream of customers crammed money into homemade cash boxes with slots in the lid.

Ortiz, a compact, solidly built man with faded tattoos on his neck, yelled loudest of all, flicking his rags in the air, eyes dry and jaw set as he faced down the traffic.

Wally, for the umpteenth time, you point out one example of the gang banger with money, as opposed to the hundreds of thousands of examples to the contrary. Believe me, when I take a ride down Central Avenue or Cesar Chavez and see nothing but beamers and benzos, I'll be sold on the theory that poverty has nothing to do with this culture. In the meantime, I, and I'm certain all people of my sociological reasoning, stand by the belief that poverty plays a huge factor in gang activity.

And, the guy tagging the wall in a registered, luxury car?

Definitely OC Half Breed. Who else? :)

I Blinky a thug, is that why you are surprised he did not smack the mayor. Do you suppose there was a reason Mayor V. did not mention CIS while they were sitting right in front of him and mentioned Father Boyle instead. Do you think it is possible it was by choice and not due to stupidity.

Remember your comment when we hear about the next criminal arrested who works for Blinky.

I thought the sureno gangsters are supposed to be too smart to do this type of thing, an old cholo was telling us only the mayates spend their drug profits on flashy cars, with big chrome rims and bling-bling.

Maybe some of these cholos should share the wealth with their homies still riding the bus, they are as greedy as the corporate leaders.

Hey Anonymouse! I took a look at your blog http://barfinthehat.blogspot.com/

Congratulations, you've taken your copycat skills to a new level of imatation and mimicry, I am flattered you have spent so much time studying and using my writings and especially my old street "Spanglish".
While perusing your new blog I seemed to understand your psychological makeup with a bit more understanding and sympathy for your plight.
Your blog "barf in the hat" is captivating in it's strange yet telling content, with all of your idiosyncratic imitations and nom de plumes on display for the world to see, and speculate on, and with all it's furious and feverish attempts at humor and sarcasm.

If I may speculate a bit, a while back Gava Joe thought you might be the kind of person that had immense amounts of time on his hands, due to possibly being confined to a wheelchair or iron lung.
Is this true?, or are you maybe a Dr. Strangelove type of patriot that works for the CIA and scans websites around the globe, keeping our nation safe from the effects of various brown races (including Italians!) who would seduce our children and lead them to some greaseball demise?

Are you the escaped "Alien Being" from the Rosewell UFO incident so many years ago?,who uses the world wide web to absorb and mimic certain subcultures of the Mexican AMerican subculture?

Are you a defrocked Catholic Priest?, who after leaving the church has taken up Computer Science in a quest to instruct and direct the children of the world in your direction?

Anyway thank you for mentioning me in so many ways in your blossoming website "barf in the hat". As we have heard from other Wallista's recently "immitation is the highest form of flattery", and I'm sure when "Wally" reviews your blogsite he will feel as I do.

In closing let me say to you that Sleep and proper nutrition are essential for solid mental health, and that our mental health professionals who prescribe pharmaceuticals for certain, uhhh afflictions are trained professionals who after many years of schooling are capable of insight into illness's of the mind, so take your medicine's as prescribed and the world will be a brighter place tommorrow.

City Council members say gang crisis warrants faster action
BY RICK ORLOV, Staff Writer
Article Last Updated: 04/21/2007 12:20:48 AM PDT

A lack of significant new funding to launch Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa's anti-gang program drew complaints and concern Friday as the plan received its first official review.
The plan, unveiled during the mayor's State of the City address, allocates $168 million for intervention and prevention programs, but just $16.8 million of that is new funding.

At a meeting of the Ad Hoc Committee on Gangs and Youth, City Council members and others said the gang crisis warrants faster action.

"I think we know what a lot of the problems are and where they exist," said Councilwoman Janice Hahn, who represents the Harbor Gateway area. "We shouldn't be wasting time."

Harbor Gateway was not among the eight gang-reduction zones outlined in the mayor's plan. Harbor Gateway has become a symbol for much of Los Angeles' gang problem. On Dec. 5, immigrant Arturo Ponce, 34, was shot and killed in the neighborhood, and 10 days later, 14-year-old Cheryl Green was shot when she was believed to have crossed a gang line.

Deputy Mayor Arif Alikhan said the mayor's initial program is merely the first step in a long-term prevention and intervention campaign. "We are starting in areas where we have existing programs to maximize and leverage the money that is there," Alikhan said. "As we get more funds, we will be able to expand to other areas."

Alikhan said the mayor plans to appoint an interim director to conduct initial assessments in four prime areas — Foothill, Northeast, Newton and Southeast — and the eight identified gang-reduction zones.

Former state Sen. Tom Hayden urged the city to work on a variety of levels to combat the problem.

"You have to sit down with the governor and deal with this," Hayden said. "Prisons are the incubation of where violence occurs. And I urge you not to forget juvenile halls. Any kid that can be saved early is to the good."

I'm confused as to your question here, Wally. Surely you're not surprised by the "bling" that comes with the G-life.. Just as surely you're not surprised by how short-lived it can be.. I'm in the wrong business, shit I'd like a Mercedes SUV! I've seen a few homies driving around the O.C in very nice cars over the years.

In other news right before I took a 3 dayer down to the O.C for a pervious doctors appointment there was a killing here in King City p(population about 15,000). First hand account from my meth dealing, norte associate is that some Norteno's youngsters (cool kid according to neighbor) were walking and a car load of South Siders drove up words were exchanged fight breaks out and then one of the South Siders pulled his gun and shot the norte kid in the head, killed him instantly.
Now to the So. Cal people this is daily shit, but here in K.C it's a small rual farm town 40 miles south of Salinas but according to police reports it also has one of the largest if not largest Sureno gangs in what would normally be considered Norteno land. A few years back there was a full scale riot at the local high school between 13 & 14 police had to be called in from all over the Salinas Valley. K.C is really right smack in the middle of the State. Interestingly I also came across a couple South Siders from Salinas claiming Varrio Little Town which is the varrio that started in Costa Mesa as they were aware of, one was from Costa Mesa originally. I've been in the Salinas Valley for exactly 3 weeks now and in that time there has been 5 drive by shootings in Salinas alone and the one murder in King City and from what I've seen, read and heard on the streets it's all been Norte vs Sur.

To really get the full dynamics of this battle you have to know that Salinas is a Norte strong hold has been since at least the 70's a lot of N.F heavy hitters are from the area and they control the street drug sales etc. in Salinas. So for there to even be South Siders in the area let alone full varrios who go toe to toe with the Norteno's is a pretty interesting story.

Well Wally, something radically new is in the air: new ways of understanding physical systems, new ways of thinking about thinking that call into question many of our basic assumptions. A realistic biology of the mind, advances in evolutionary biology, physics, information technology, genetics, neurobiology, psychology, engineering, the chemistry of materials: all are questions of critical importance. However, I too must confess along with Gava Joe and The Walrus as to being confused to your question on this thread Wally?

If you remember, the Israeli authorities seize our consignment of 80,000 cans of doggy food disguised as gourmet goose liver pate. Our Bulgarian product was originally marked as "Chicken for dogs" but was relabelled "Domestic birds' liver pate" and "Pate de foie gras". Enrico and the boys also forged a kosher certificate to fulfill requirements of Jewish dietary law. This happen one-and-half month ago, but now present day, fan hit incoming shit - everyone here, know news about global pet food scandal that kill all the barking doggies, mothers daddies an baby doggies. Cousin Enrico start it all by importing bad wheat gluten to China - selling for big profit. Bulgarian mafia spiked gluten with industrial chemical to boost apparent protein content and sell to Chinese government. The doggy food was tainted with deadly aflatoxins that waste the liver away. Now Chinese find and tell FDA wheat gluten imported with industrial product not meant for pet food. You know the saying "you can take the kid out if the ghetto but you can't take the ghetto out of the kid". And mexicans wonder why they there is racism and discrimination against them, well who would want them living in their neighborhood with the kind of problems they bring.

Watch my video on racism and remember this also applies to the mexican low life cholos.

Wally, your getting up later with every week my friend! To help your insomnia tie a rag around your head before you hit the pillow. But even before you do this, apply Vick's vapor rub on your temples in little o's. Determine the size of your head as compared to the cloth. Tie a small overhand knot in one corner of the rag, the smaller the knot the better, and so the closer to the corner the better. Bow your head down, and bend shoulders a bit forward. Throw your head back and straighten up, keeping the tension on the rag so that it stays on your forehead. Not only do I promise you will sleep better but you will look cool when waking up together with your girlfriends.

To Wally,

We were once a proud Aztec and Mayan people who were victimized by the European Spaniards then later by the European Anglo-Saxon fascists. Wally you should know gangs are the direct result of the Anglo-Saxon fascist government depriving our poor innocent cholos of an equal opportunity. We have been victims of institutionalized racism and discrimination for hundreds of years.

Remember gangs started because of the Sleepy Lagoon Murder case on August 2, 1942, when the body of Jose Diaz was found at a reservoir in southeast Los Angeles. Police and Press hysteria and bigotry fueled the arrest of 300 Mexican American youths and guided a corrupt trial in which the judge and prosecutors displayed routine disregard for our fundamental civil rights.

http://www.sleepylagoon.com/H/sltrial.htm

We all know of the racism and brutality of the LAPD and how we have been the victims of Chief Parker, Chief Davis and Chief Gates. We just need to look in the prisons to know who the real victims of society are. The prisons are filled with our innocent cholo victims of society.

If a Mexican kid is driving a luxury SUV that does not make him a drug dealer, and the kid was just showing the love of his varrio by painting it on a wall. We have used this form of expression for hundreds of years, it is the only forum he have to express ourselves against the Anglo-Saxon racist government.

As everyone notes, this seems to be an exceptional lifestyle for a banger. I read a great book recently called "Freakonomics," it's by a economist who shows how a lot of our intuitive thoughts about economics are wrong.

If you can get past the cheesy intro, here's the author talking about one of the best chapters, "why crack dealers still live with their mothers."

It's genuinely interesting stuff. It's based on some Gangster Disciples in Chicago (my old home), one of whom apparently kept meticulous records.

The way I see it the fact that a gangster can own an expensive ride should not be surprising at all. There is a shit load of money to be made in the calles and owning a fancy ride is easy if you're in the game. Many vatos do ride on fancy rides but the truly smart ones don't flash their feria like that. The only surprising thing about this story to me is the fact that the vato would still be tagging on walls. The vato should have learned to ignore the dumb shit long ago, but he didn't.

Before hating on a youngster for having a clean ride, the average citizen should question their love for dope legal and illegal. It's that love of dope from the so called average citizen that allows many gangsters to own what they own.

Hey OC there really is no Norte stronghold anymore. The SUR is present in every single town that they call home. I don't think that they will completely disappear but they will continue to lose control of their turf as time goes by. The Sureno varrios that have sprung up out there continue to get bigger so it really is only a matter of time.

I don't think there's a Norte stronghold anymore, OC. I've heard that's it South Side Stockton, but I'm not buying it, considering the ever increasing Mexican immigrant population there.

I said the same thing at StreetGangs.com yesterday, and everyone's pissed at me there. But I think the Chicano rule on the streets is done. Watch out for the Mexicans, and I mean from Mexico. They're not only taking over the legit work force (and god speed to them, I'm one who believes they should be paid more, not deported), but Mexicans are also taking over the black market. I also think Mexicans are taking the Sur away from Chicanos. They would take over the Norte too, but haven't Nortenos distanced themselves from Mexican nationals as an affront to the Sur, and therefore, haven't recruited too many Mexican nationals in years?

Never mind them being outnumbered by Surenos, etc. It could be that the Nortenos' downfall is not taking advantage of the Mexican population, leaving them for the Sur to recruit.

Well, that's a harmless opinion, isn't it? Afterall, I like to avoid controversy. I'm just guestimating based on what I observe, and I'm all over California, all the time. I welcome any corrections, and the usual ad hominem abuse.

If your a Mexican/American are you genetically inclined to be a gangster?

Front page of the Albuquerque Journal Sunday April 22, 2007
"Guard unit claims Racism"

At a base in Kuwait last May nearly 60 members of a New Mexico National Guard unit were told to strip to their shorts so a military investigator could check them for gang tatoos.
No gang tatoos were found on the soldiers in Task Force Cobra and soldiers said it was targeted because it had a large number of Hispanics.
The tatoo search was based on an "uncorroborated alligation made by a soldier from Wisconsin that Task Force Cobra was rife with gang members.
During the search one New Mexico soldier complained "that he didn't feel like an American today" according to Army documents.
Another soldier cried, saying it reminded him of a similar incident that occured when he was younger because he was Hispanic.
Another said it was the lowest point of his military career due to the "Gestapo like tactic".

Adjutant General Kenny C. Montoya commander of the New Mexico Army and Air National Guard said his long pending promotion to Brigadier General was scuttled by Army brass because of his allegations that Task Force Cobra was racially targeted for the tatoo search.
The Army sargeant from Wisconsin said he had seen soldiers in the New Mexico unit with gang tatoos on them and that they were "throwing gang signs" at Camp Navistar on the Kuwait/Iraq border.

On May 23 agent Paul McGuire with the Army Criminal Investigation Command conducted the tatto check.
Soldiers were told to remove their shoes, socks, and shirts.
During the search the tension was very high with the troops who complained of being singled out due to their race.
A number of soldiers initially refused to submit but complied after being threatened with arrest by agent McGuire.
The first 58 soldiers checked were found not to have any tattoos but a second search was planned for the next day, then the unit commander Capt. Ivan Forrest Salkin returned from the field and ordered a halt to the searches unless a search warrant was issued.

Army Investigation Command officer "McGuire" denied discrimination, saying, "I love the Hispanic people, I speak fluent Spanish, I served a mission for my Church (Latter Day Saints, Mormons)for two years in Santiago,
Chile.
Christopher Grey , a spokesman for the Army Criminal Investigation Command said he couldn't disclose whether any other unit had been searched for tattoos, saying it's the command's policy not to disclose investigation techniques.
Grey also said an internal inquiry by the Criminal Investigation Command found it's agent (McGuire) had acted within the law in conducting the tattoo check of the New Mexico unit.

Col. Montoya was very pointed in a letter sent to Gen. Peter J. Schoomaker, then Chief of Staff of the Army.
Adjuntant Gen. Montoya wrote that Task Force Cobra "was racially targeted and illegally searched for body tattoos just because the unit consists of a large number of Hispanic surnamed soldiers."
Montoya also wrote that he had "been receiving a clear message from different directions that my federal recognition (as a Brigadier General) has not occured because of my last name."

Montoya said he has been told by high-level military sources in Washington that his accusations of racism in the Army are the true reasons behind his promotion being further delayed, if not killed.
He said he has also angered Army leaders in Washington with complaints about training and housing provided to New Mexico National Guard members.

Chickenshit military racism, but I would follow Montoya into battle any day of the week.

a few facts for you vatos

when mayor antonio v mentioned homeboy industries the cameras pointed at some youngters in the crowd.

how did these gangsters get into an invitation only event?

the truth is they wernt from homeboy they were cis clinetale and were in fact from san fer and pacas.

pay close attention sitting next to them was (conejo) from cpa/ and the white due that works for blinky (charles)

too much attention is given to los when the valle is actually doing the work.

(conejo) might had turned into a christian but the vato getts plenty of respect. (charles) might had never got into a varrio even though he grew up with san fer worked as a c o, and now became a parmedic. but ask yourself who is doing the work and getting the respect.

look at the facts cis had san fer, and pacas at the major event and no shit came down.

everytime you walk into homeboy you have vatos working there mad dogging anyone who walks in the door.located next to the building is an lapd station. but that in no way stops those vatos employeed there from fighting behind the every chance they get

Good post SNS, but I would like to enlighten you just a bit if I may.

Although the "Paisa's align themselves with the southsiders in the streets and the pintas of the US, and reside for the most part, in the various varrios where gangs are prevalent, Paisa's are not a separate race of people.
Paisa's that come directly from Mexico are usually grouped up due to a familiar background and language.
But these Mexicans have children who are then called Mexican AMericans or Chicano's if you will. These Chicano's when they grow up in the neighborhood are no different from Chicano's that are one or more generations removed from Mexico, the predominant language of the varrios is English or a derrivative refered to as "Spanglish", which is a language that is mainly English but contains Spanish and various other dialects that are spoken in the different areas mainly in the "Southwest USA", and many "Frontera" areas of Mexico.

If one had grown up and lived in one of the numerous varrios of LA, or So Cal, then the transition of Mexican from Mexico to the offspring who are then Mexican American or Chicano's is just a very natural and typical occurance.
There never was or is a separate race of Mexicans as opposed to Mexican Americans in the USA, and with intermarriage and intermingling there are many races and ethnic groups that are included in the group called "Mexican AMericans or Chicano's, that makeup the other subculture referred to as "Sureno's".

I am not familiar enough with the other subculture of Mexican AMericans from Norte called "Norteno's" to comment as an expert, but it seems they are Mexican AMericans mainly, that are resistant or prejuciced against "Mexicans from Mexico". A ridiculous attitude since their ancestors came from Mexico, no matter how long ago.

just my two cents.

By Michael Wayne Hunter

Each spring, I pack up my 1957 two-door Chevy and leave my home of Los Mochis on the sea of Cortez and drive seven hundred miles north to the United States border and then three hundred miles more to California's agricultural central valley. For the next eight months, I follow the harvest from farm to farm. Phone calls are too expensive, so I exchange letters with my wife, Rosario, and she sends me photos of my children so I can see how they're growing. It's a hard life, but a man, a family man, does whatever needs to be done to provide for his loved ones.

In late autumn, my work's finished for the year. Slamming the trunk, I pause before sliding behind the wheel to look one more time at the latest family photos and linger over Sandoval Flores, my baby son playing on the beach. Sandy was only the smallest bulge in Rosa's waist when I left her so many months ago.

Harshly grinding the starter, the forty-year old engine reluctantly comes to life in a cloud of blue smoke, and I turn south towards home blessed home.

I'm not one of those vatos locos who works hard and drinks harder. For sure I work hard, but I save my money for my family. But when I'm finally released from the fields for the year and start the hundreds of miles to my sweet Rosa, I'll break out a bottle and take some sips to while away the time. I do not get drunk--just get a nice buzz on--as I countdown the highway markers, each one taking me closer and closer to my family.

A few hundred miles down the road, I stopped to fill the gas tank with in Bakersfield. Pulling back into traffic, I hit head on with a mini van. Never caught a glimpse of anything coming at me; perhaps the crucifix hanging from my rearview mirror blocked my sight. It couldn't have been my drinking; I was not drunk, had a little buzz on is all.

Thrown clear from my Chevy onto the soft shoulder of the road, I tried to rescue the people trapped in the van, but the door jammed and the flames jumped so high.

People seemed to come out of nowhere to look at the accident and didn't try to help me free the door. All they did was pull out those mobile phones all the Anglos seem to carry, punch buttons, and talk while the woman and her two young daughters were consumed by fire.

My English isn't too good, but it seemed to me that the man standing close to me, talking on his phone was saying he'd need therapy to overcome the trauma of the ordeal. Not sure what he meant, the people in the van were dead, and I was the only other one involved in the accident. North Americans must know something because they're all so rich, but they certainly say the craziest things.

I was bruised and battered a bit but not really too hurt until the police arrived. They arrested me, took me to the station and used what they called flashlight therapy to enlighten me regarding staying out of the way of Bakersfield citizens. My head bonded with metal. I wasn't too surprised that the man swinging the flashlight the most, had "Fernandez" on his nametag. I've met too many Hispanics who believe if you're born north of the border, you're human. If not, you're what comes out of the south-end of a burro.

After the cops were weary of beating me, I was locked inside a holding tank. The sign stenciled on the wall clearly stated thirty-five maximum occupancy, but I stopped counting at ninety men. Crouching down in the corner next to the toilet, I didn't talk, didn't move, barely breathed, and hoped no one noticed me.

A trio of tattooed gangsters pulled a young Mexican, no more than a boy, really, to the back of the holding tank. They tossed him to the floor and held him down, accepting cigarettes from men craving but sex.

Trustees pushed a cart loaded with meat sandwiches, cartons of milk, and smuggled homemade wine to the bars. The gangsters took charge of the cart and sold everything for more cigarettes.

After the wine was sold and swigged, the line for sex grew longer and longer. Buttocks speckled with blood and semen, the boy's face was a mask of vomit; he simply looked like he was going to die or perhaps just wanted to die. I've seen sights in migrant worker camps but nothing like that boy!

Still weak from the accident and beating, I just stayed crouched in the corner all night long. When my name was called the next morning, I was famished and could barely straighten, my legs cramping from crouching . Stumbling out of Hell, I was chained and taken to court.

A court-appointed attorney used tourist Spanish to explain I'd killed nine year old Tiffany, eleven year old Ashley, and their mother, Mrs. Jensen of the Junior League and the Cottonwood Country Club.

After lunch at the country club, Mrs. Jensen had picked up her daughters at ballet class before colliding with my Chevy in a body-breaking impact, the kind that only happens when neither driver sees or attempts to avoid the other.

My attorney had already phoned the bartender at the country club, and he admitted to a pitcher of martinis served with Mrs. Jensen's lunch but added that she certainly wasn't drunk when she left. Drunk is common, vulgar, and Mrs. Jensen was certainly neither, but perhaps she just had a little buzz on.

The lawyer said I could roll the dice and go to trial with twelve citizens of Bakersfield and risk eleven years in prison multiplied by three for each dead body, or he could check with the District of Attorney's office and see if the prosecution was willing to Let's Make A Deal and show me something behind door-number-one. Slowly, I nodded agreement with my swollen and bruised head.

My lawyer was a kind man. He went to the judge and asked for a court order transferring me to the jail-ward of the county hospital for treatment.

Feeling a whole lot better, bandaged and after a night's sleep chained to a hospital bed, I was eating lunch when my attorney arrived and said the prosecutor didn't want to go into Mrs. Jensen's drinking and driving habits. I was offered four years in state prison; I'd be out in two years with good behavior.

My lawyer warned that my blood/alcohol level was twice legally drunk, that I'd be a Mexican migrant worker on trial for the deaths of a rich white woman and her two daughters, and I'd have to go back inside the jail and survive in that hellhole for months awaiting trial.

Reluctantly, I placed my signature on the plea bargain paperwork. Transported to court the next day, I appeared before a judge who barely looked at me and was sentenced to four years.

My attorney arranged for me to stay in the hospital until I boarded the gray goose a few days later. Chained to a seat in the California Department of Corrections bus, I was ticketed for Folsom State Prison near Sacramento, a hard, barred place where I could start marking off days 'til freedom.

Staring out the window for a while going north on Highway 99, the same road I'd driven south a few days before heading home to Rosa, I pulled paper from my county-issue jumpsuit and wrote my wife.

"...I'll stay out of trouble and the time will pass quickly. In two-years when I receive parole, I'll come to you and never leave you or return to this country ever again. My father will help you as much as he can. You need to write him in the Yucatan..."

Surviving for the next two years without money from me was going to be difficult, and I did my best to give Rosa guidance, but still I had much worry for my precious family.

Processed through the Reception Center, I walked the Folsom main line for five whole minutes before Antonio came at me.

"Como se llamo?"

"Miguel. Miguel Flores."

"What you claiming, Miguel?"

"Claiming?"

"Which clique? Surenos or Nortenos?"

"I'm a Mexican. Mayan Indian."

"Can't walk alone, Miguel. Surenos run Folsom, you should ride with us."

"Don't want no problems." Raising my hands, palms out, I fended him off. "Just want to do my time, get out, and go home to my family."

"On you. Don't say I didn't try to help my country cousin."

Antonio reported back to his Surenos lieutenant, and it took awhile, maybe thirty seconds or so, for the word to get out that I didn't have backup.

Spider pushed people out of the road as he came at me. The black man had at least eight inches on my five foot six inches and told me I needed a real weight driving hog of a man to look after me.

Trying/falling to squirm out of Spider's grasp on my shoulder, I lied and said that many men had approached me already with the same offer. I had to make up my mind which one I wanted and get back at all of them.

Spider said that was fine, take my time all the way 'til breakfast was cool, but if I hadn't hooked up with anyone by then, he was moving my ass inside his cell.

I went directly to Antonio for help. Antonio shrugged, said I'd been given a chance to clique, and now it was time for me to suck dick.

I sweated the night away. I thought about going to a guard, but like I said, my English is not good, and the Spanish speaking guards were from north of the border, and a free-swinging Fernandez was still fresh in my memory.

At the chow hall door the next morning, Antonio met me and thrust a Bible in my hands without saying a word and walked quickly away.

The Bible was puzzling. It was in English, so I couldn't read it and seemed oddly stiff like a block of wood. Opening the cover and curiously peeking inside, pages were razored, replaced by a four-inch shank. The steel was old, rusty except for the recently sharpened point and cutting edge. Antonio had spent the night repeatedly running the blade over his cell's cement floor.

Tucking the Bible in my belt, I took a tray and sat down to eat. After only a spoonful or two of eggs, I felt a hand on my shoulder as Spider slid into the next seat.

"All alone, honey," he breathed into my ear. "I's git at the Sarge, kick 'im a carton of Camels to move you right on into my house." Rotating my lips to Spider's ear, I sweetly told him, "Fuck you, maricon." Punching his midsection with the shank, I left the steel inside. Dropping the Bible, I picked up my tray and moved over a table to finish eating. As I was moving, Spider's head crashed down, clanging his tray away.

Attracted by the noise, a guard came running, blew his whistle over Spider fetal-curling on the floor.

"Hang in there, Spider." The guard knelt down. "Help's on the way."

Fingers closing on the blade buried in his stomach, Spider blindly turned towards the guard's voice and drove the steel into the guard's throat. By the time the med-techs made the scene, the badge was dead. When the guards were done with Spider, he was dead too.

With a whole chow hall full of witnesses, the Goon Squad's Problem wasn't finding someone to rat; it was choosing the most credible stories.

Ferandez's flashlights therapy was a light caress compared to what the California Department of Corrections introduced to my body. I was real grateful when they handed me over to the county for prosecution.

"You're through!" my latest court appointed counsel told me in more pigeon Spanish. "The prosecution's asking death penalty for the murder of the guard."

"Never touched the guard, never even saw the guard," I protested. "When the whistle blew, I got up and left the chow hall."

"Doesn't matter," my counsel assured. "It's transferred intent. Once you stabbed Spider, every single thing flowing from that illegal act is your responsibility."

"No."

"Yes, it's true. If Spider had lived, the District Attorney would be content to send only him to Death Row, but you're the only one left to charge; someone has to go to the execution chamber to satisfy the Folsom guards and their families in the community. They're all taxpayers; they'll all vote for the District Attorney in the next election."

"Stabbed Spider because he wanted to rape me."

"It's a defense, a good defense, for Spider's death but doesn't do much for you when it comes to Officer Bailey."

"This is loco!"

"Probably. But it's the law."

The jury gave me manslaughter for Spider, but for Officer Bailey, they found me guilty of first degree murder with premeditation and malice aforethought with the special circumstance of killing a peace officer in the performance of his official duties. A capital offense, I was sentenced to die.

On the gray goose again, this time on the bus all alone slowly motoring to San Quentin's Death Row, I started another letter to Rosa. After writing and rewriting the first paragraph a dozen times, finally I gave up and tore the paper into tiny squares and let them drift across the bus floor.

My first day on the East Block condemned men exercise yard, Sapo approached and asked what I claimed.

"Sure–os."

Sapo's my fifth-tier lieutenant, he got at Antonio in Folsom who co-signed my hit on Spider, a member of the blood clique, and clued the Death Row Surenos that I didn't rat the origin of the shank during my beating by the gooners.

After giving me the teardrop tattoo of a hitter, Sapo offered one hundred dollars for my prison account to set up my cell with a radio or whatever else.

ATC,

Thanks for the link about freak-economics, it was an interesting and entertaining video. I wonder if tan colored “Dockers” pants are the white guys office uniform, like Steve Levitt in the video (lol).

I posted a comment a while back that I see most young cholos riding the bus or walking in the downtown Los Angeles area. I also remember another comment posted about how “young gang members wanted to be like Marlo” (gang leader in HBO series the Wire). I thought his example of death statistics for the corner drug dealer was interesting.

So which gang killed the kid below he was shot 17 times, somebody was mad? Was it Silverlake13, Avenues, Toonerville?

Man found shot to death in L.A. River
From a Times Staff Writer
April 23, 2007

Los Angeles police were investigating the death of a 19-year-old man whose body was found about 8 a.m. Sunday on the riverbed of the Los Angeles River near Colorado Boulevard and the Glendale city line.

Police were treating the death of Michael Rodriguez as a homicide. He had been shot multiple times, said Sgt. Edward Perez of the Los Angeles Police Department's Northeast station.

Atwater Village: Michael Rodriguez, 18, a Latino youth, was shot 17 times on the banks of the Los Angeles River just south of the Colorado Street bridge next to the I-5 Freeway in Atwater at about 10 p.m. Saturday night, April 21. His body, which was lying about a foot from the moving water, was spotted by two joggers early Sunday morning. Upon investigating, detectives learned that people in the area had heard the gunshots the previous night, but no one had called police. Anyone with any more information is asked to call LAPD Dets. Larry Burcher or Dick Di Croce at (213) 847-4261.

I guess many illegal aliens are gang members because Mayor Villaraigosa is going to talk to the Latin presidents and tell him “we don’t want your stinking gang-members” Article from today’s L.A. daily news.

Villaraigosa should be popular on trip to Mexico, El Salvador
Rick Orlov, Columnist
Article Last Updated: 04/22/2007 08:14:24 PM PDT

Final details are being hammered out for Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa's trip next month to El Salvador and Mexico, and the planned jaunt is proving popular with local television stations. Nearly every station has signed on to cover at least a portion of the trip, which will include meetings with Mexican President Felipe Calderon.

The trip, tentatively set May 2 to 9, will include talks with officials about international gang problems.

Los Angeles Police Chief William Bratton will accompany the mayor to a gang summit in El Salvador. And City Controller Laura Chick plans to participate in a group meeting with Calderon and to hold her own meetings with Mexican officials about transparency in government.

Regarding the Sopranos

I'm not sure who my favorite character is on the show, probably Tony, though, because the way the show is done, you find yourself almost cheering this vicious thug on.

I am definitely sure which character I hate the most, and that would be Carmela. Tony is a degenerate thug destined to burn in hell for all eternity, but he made his choice and he lives with it. Carmela, clickety-clacking around in her fancy shoes, adorned with gaudy jewels, living the good life in a New Jersey mansion, is the hypocritical enabling haridan that will be sitting right next to Tony in the flames of hell. My favorite scene in all the seasons of the Sopranos was the one where the old Jewish psychiatrist that Melfi sent her to, told Carmela to stop enabling Tony and leave, and that this was free advice because he, unlike her, refuses to take blood money.

Just my two cents though.

It's been said that Varrio Clanton originally didn't allow Mexican nationals into their gang. Only Mexican Americans. It's believed that this is what spawned 18th street and made it so big, the hundreds, even thousands of Mexicans, and other races, that were rejected from Clanton. Was Clanton the only varrio that excluded Mexican immigrants, or was this the norm in the mid 20th century, L.A. varrio culture?

So, could it be that Nortenos learned to be prejudiced against Mexican immigrants from inmates that were from places like Clanton?

Oweeeee. Great Balls of Fire.
When bidets catch fire
Japan's leading toilet maker offers free repairs after wiring triggers fire.

April 16, 2007
TOKYO - Japan’s leading toilet maker Toto Ltd. is offering free repairs for 180,000 bidet toilets after wiring problems caused several to catch fire, the company said Monday.

The electric bidet accessory of Toto’s Z series caught fire in three separate incidents between March 2006 and March 2007, according to company spokeswoman Emi Tanaka.

“Fortunately, nobody was using the toilets when the fire broke out and there were no injuries,” Tanaka said. “The fire would have been just under your buttocks.”

The company will repair 180,000 toilet units manufactured between May 1996 and December 2001 for free, she said. A manufacturing defect is thought to have led to the faulty wiring.

Toto has been a pioneer in high-tech toilets fitted with pressurized water sprayers — a standard fixture in Japanese homes.

The popular Z series features a pulsating massage spray, a power dryer, built-in-the-bowl deodorizing filter, the “Tornado Wash” flush and a lid that opens and closes automatically.

Prices range from $1,680 to $2,600. The model is not sold overseas.

I know there is blame to go around but along with the shooting death of 3 year old Kaitlyn Avila and these killings (including an innocent 10 year old boy while he was on the ground), what does this tell you about culero Mayates.
And look at the ages of these chanates.
I hope the Carnals get a shot at these changos when they hit the joint.

LA Times today.

David Marcial, 10; his 22-year-old uncle, Larry Marcial; and a neighbor, Luis Cervantes, 17, were fatally shot outside their families' homes in the 1100 block of East 49th Street.

Moore, 33, and Island, 24, were to be arraigned this afternoon downtown. Smith, 37, is a fugitive wanted on a murder arrest warrant.

"These were not gang members. These were just kids," Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa said in announcing a $105,000 reward in the killings. "It is just absolutely obscene that people would just shoot kids this way -- with automatic weapons, multiple times, even when they were on the ground. It's outrageous," he said.

The shooting stirred concerns about race-related violence in South L.A., especially at a time when the LAPD says that race-motivated gang crimes are on the increase. But the Los Angeles Police Department insists that the shooting was not race-motivated, rather it was fueled by a gang feud.

It seems these chanates couldn't locate their victims of choice (some other Maya's) so they just chose some innocent Mexicans to blast on. Not race related? who's bullshitting who?
BMF's huh?

SNS,
There were never any "rules" about what nationality one had to be, to be a part of any varrio that I'm familiar with. There were members of every race known to man in all kinds of varrios in my time.
It just happens that most gangsters in LA were Chicano's, but not all.
I do remember that Temple St varrio had a chaqueta on them for a while in the pinta's and the street due to having too many Mayates in their batting order.

The point I was trying to make is that Mexico Mexicans live in all the varrios of LA and while they, like our feathered friends, "birds of a feather flock together". Their offspring (which are numerous!) grow up in the neighborhoods as Chicano's and if they gang up, it's with the traditional varrio gangs, which so happens to be Sureno territory in the southland (and other places now). The Chicano offspring of the "Paisa's" are a different generation, thier not Paisa's but Chicano's by and large.
That's why mathematically, Paisa's will probably diminish in numbers due to immigration slowing, but one Paisa can create many Chicano's who in LA will likely be from traditional Sureno allied varrios if they gang up.
And like I said, I'm not an authority on the Nortenos, I only know that Paisa's (Mexicano's) are more discriminated against by northerners it seems.
Also the Northerners alliance with the Blacks is an absolute horror to the LA or Sureno mindset.
I'm not making a judgement call, just telling it like I have seen and experienced.

Hey Dq it seems to me like this type of shit has been going on for a pretty long while now. But I guess that it will only be considered a racial thing when it's a mayate that gets taken out. Don't worry about the inside these mayates will get regulated soon enough. They might even get regulated by their own people just so the RAZA doesn't take it out on all of those pinche changos.

SNS I have heard the same thing about Clanton, maybe someone from that varrio will let us know for sure. I know that in my varrio of Sun Valley the two older cliquas that didn't take in any paisas pretty much died out. I could be wrong but this is what I have heard. Those Cliquas were Orcas and Sol Trece. When I was younger I saw a few chingasos between NS18st (they were a new varrio in the area) and Sol Trece. Anyways the way that I heard it they fucked eachother up pretty good, but I guess that the paisas (18st) won cause they were still around when we busted out but Sol Treces were hard to find. My varrio has always been a mix of RAZA. The vast majority are US born but we do have many foriegn born homies. As long as they are RAZA and show that they are down I see no problem in letting them in. I believe that it's the same for all other South Side varrios.

Last 'Vineland Boy' Sentenced To Life In Prison

(CBS) LOS ANGELES An East San Fernando Valley gang leader who was convicted of racketeering, drug trafficking and money laundering was sentenced Monday to life in prison without the possibility of parole.

Rafael Yepiz, 35, of Reseda, was the last of nine Vineland Boyz gang members and associates who were convicted last year to be sentenced.

The nine defendants were among 49 named in a federal racketeering indictment alleging a series of crimes over a 15-year period.

Prosecutors say the sophisticated street gang grew from its roots in Sun Valley to be involved in widespread trafficking in cocaine, crack, methamphetamine and marijuana in Los Angeles and in areas as far away as Hawaii and the East Coast.

The gang was also violent, according to prosecutors, who cited the Nov. 15, 2003, fatal shooting of rookie Burbank police Officer Matthew Pavelka during a traffic stop.

The nine defendants convicted last year were not charged with Pavelka's murder -- although one defendant, Gilberto Carrasco, was convicted of being an accessory for helping the alleged killer, David Garcia, flee to Mexico.

The defendants were charged with drug and racketeering-related counts as part of a push by law enforcement to dismantle the Vineland Boyz.

Twenty-seven of the Vineland Boyz defendants pleaded guilty before last year's trial.

Chief Wally, and Lieutenants Don Quixote and Gava Joe learn that beef jerky and slim jims are being smuggled into the area in a unique way - under the hubcaps of innocent people's cars. When they reach their destination, the narco edibles are collected by local pushers. Efforts to trace the meat by-products back to its source lead Wally and the boys to a fashionable resort hotel. Their undercover work there fails, and Wally must use less subtle methods - including a fast bout with a can opener- to get the evidence that incriminates and deactivates the smuggling ring.

I guess many illegal aliens are gang members because Mayor Villaraigosa is going to talk to the Latin presidents and tell him “we don’t want your stinking gang-members” Article from today’s L.A. daily news.

*******************

To Jethro,

As usual you comments are insightful and welcome. You state obvious facts which are ignored by so many defenders of the mexican gang criminals in Los Angeles. One only has to read the L.A Times or watch the L.A. news to see who is responsible for the majority of crimes in Los Angeles.

The Mayor of Los Angeles recently addressed the gang problems in Los Angeles but still the Mexican people who are responsible for these crimes will not admit to their fault and take responsibility for their own criminal behavior. I am not sure who has to tell these Mexican people you are the cause of the problem and therefore you have to change your own conduct I will quote the words of a wise man who said this about blacks
“If you American Blacks would get your culture straightened out, you wouldn't be crying on racial issues or pointing fingers - but trying to educate those that need change in conduct and mentality”

I look forward to you comments which provide the harsh reality of the gang problems of Los Angeles which even the Mexican Mayor and ex ACLU Lawyer has admitted to. We need to have at least twice as many cops on the streets and arrest and deport all the gang criminals. And maybe the remaining mexican parents will educate their kids and change the conduct and gang mentality of their own kids.

I know there is blame to go around but along with the shooting death of 3 year old Kaitlyn Avila and these killings (including an innocent 10 year old boy while he was on the ground), what does this tell you about culero mayates.

************
It Tells me the culero mayates are just as low life as the culero sureno cholos who have killed many more innocent young kids and girls than all the maytates of Los Angeles combined, do you remember Martha Puebla killed by Vineland boys .

El Montero just posted this ….
“Three defendants still awaiting trial -- Jose Ledesma, Raul Robledo and Javier Covarrubias -- face the death penalty if convicted of the alleged murder of a 16-year-old girl who had testified against a Vineland Boyz member.”

I also remember a low life stupid cholo saying Martha deserved to be killed and a bird should have been placed in her mouth. Yes indeed, the Mexican cholos are no better than the mayates.

I why the cholos cry like babies when the police kill one of their low life members who is on the street with a gun but do not say anything when their low life members kill hundreds and shoot over a thousand every year in Los Angeles.

Below is but a short list from LAPD web-site of recent innocent girls and other young victims of culero cholos. I got sick and tired of reading about all the people killed by the low life cholos.

You better watch that video again, you need to learn the saying “Cara de Nopal” I would bet you 1 to 100 dollars they are here illegally. You can tell by they way they dress and talk that they have not been here very long, and they even told you they were from mexico not from some California city. I think you are more than half anglo because I remember you saying guys selling oranges were probably in the U.S. legally. (lol). The majority of recent mexican nationals are here illegally, the U.S. does not give out that many new work visas and green cards every year.

Yes it's a fact, many fucked up things happen that gangsters are responsible for.
Lots of useless killings and mayhem are the result of the LA Chicano gangsters.
But! although there are innocent youngsters that are wasted in crossfires and accidental shootings, which are also fucked up and needless.
The LA raza gangsters don't put up with deliberate killings of baby's and innocent kids. That kind of shit is condemned immediately and severe punishment (usually death) is normally the sentence.
A typical example is the case of Jimmy Palma who was supposed to put a hit on some ex Carnal who was stashed away in the SGV. This idiot killed the whole family including small children. Even though Palma got the death sentence he wasn't off the hook and was shanked to death almost immediately after hitting death row in San Quentin.
I can recall a number of similar cases over the years, and I know when I was a gangster in my youth there were things that were off limits or it would be your ass.

These mayate gangsters don't have the same mentality or scruples, as witnessed by the deliberate face to face killings of this 10 year old kid, (by a 37 year old chango!) or the purposeful shooting death of 3 year old Kaitlyn Avila by the P Stone mayates, or the killings of Kermit Alexander, the ex Rams player, kids and family (by mistake, wrong address!)by that cretin looking chanate "Tyquon Cox" and his homies. There are others too numerous to mention but the bottom line is I know this shit won't be forgotten.

2 staff members hurt in New Castle prison uprising

By CHARLES WILSON
Associated Press Writer
Published April 24, 2007, 3:56 PM CDT

NEW CASTLE, Ind. -- Two staff members were injured in a disturbance Tuesday at a medium-security prison that began when inmates from Arizona and Indiana clashed, authorities said.

Indiana State Police Sgt. Rod Russell said the situation was being controlled and stabilized and that authorities had accounted for all staff members. The perimeter of the prison was secured and no inmates had escaped, although some were still out of their cells, Russell said.

He said the situation "had improved 100 percent" compared with when it started about 2 p.m.

Tuesday's incident occured a month after Arizona and Indiana contracted to house up to 1,260 Arizona inmates at the prison about 45 miles east of Indianapolis. About 630 Arizona prisoners had been transferred within the past two months. That is in addition to the 1,000 Indiana inmates housed there as of mid-March.

Russell said the disturbance involved a problem between inmates from the two states but was not sure of the details

"They brought these prisoners in from Arizona," the woman said. "OK, this is Indiana. Who wants to be that far away from their own family?...

The incident began when inmates from Arizona took off their shirts in a group display of noncompliance...

"They (the prisoners) warned them two weeks ago that this was going to happen. And it is happening now. It did not make sense to bring those prisoners here."

1. Musings from calypso Louie...
On October 24, 1989, at a Washington, DC. press conference, Louis Farrakhan described a 1985 Vision he had while in Mexico. In his Vision, he said he was carried up to "a Wheel, or what you call an unidentified flying object" to a "human built planet" known as the "Mother Wheel". Calypso Louie Weighs In From the Lunatic Fringe...
"Minister" Louis Farrakhan, the nutjob head of the Nation of Islam, while on a nationwide tour, speaking with people forced from their homes by Hurricane Katrina.
During a stop in Charlotte, Calypso Louie opined that some of the levees in New Orleans may have been deliberately blown up to "destroy the black part of town and keep the white part dry."
Farrakhan has a long history of making racist and moronic statements. He once described Jews as "bloodsuckers" and told followers that he communicates the late founder of the Nation of Islam, Elijah Muhammed, who (according to Louie) is presently orbiting the earth in a spaceship. And, in case you were wondering, Farrakhan also claims that he was abducted by aliens in the past (that part we believe).

2. The Syrian Connection? The Iraq Survey Group's final report found no evidence that Saddam's weapons of mass destruction made their way to Syria before the U.S. invasion in 2003, but in are fact being stored in the meat locker room of Luigi's Pastrami and Dip #3 on La Salle St. in Hoboken, New Jersey?

SV VBS,
(To any little wanna-be cholos please read this and pay attention to the prison terms given to the cholos from Vineland Boys gang.). See how the old cholo from SV-VBS is crying about the very long time his homies will rot in prison.

Excuse me if I do not cry for the leader (Rafael "Sneaky" Yepiz) of a criminal gang whose members have been involved in many murders and drug trafficking over the years. Now Mr. Sneaky has plenty of time to sing “Silent Night, Holy Night, Operation Silent Night” in his super-max cell. How many crimes were these individuals involved with over the years? If you are a gang member you should learn about gang-sententicing enhancements and the federal RICO act so you are not crying like a chavalita later about your over-due and very long prison sentence. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/RICO_(law)

How many gang members were involved in the decision to kill witness (Martha Puebla)? If you decide to kill a witness against you, this will also bring you a tougher prison sentence. So I say hang-them high and hang-them quick.

Do you think the innocent people who lived in the barrios these cholos helped fuck up, are sorry to see these low lifes in prison? And I am not talking about the family and friends of the cholos, but the majority of hard working Latinos who usually have a hatred for the cholos.

Rafael “Sneaky” Yepiz, 35, of Reseda, was sentenced to life in federal prison. He was not as “Sneaky” as he thought.

Sergio Mejia, 39, of Arleta, was sentenced to life in federal prison.

Jose Luis Mejia, 37, (Sergio Mejia’s brother) of Bakersfield, was sentenced to 27 years in prison

Francisco Zambrano, 27, of Mission Hills, was sentenced to 40 years in prison.

Manuel Yepiz, 32, of Shadow Hills, to 20 years in prison.

Mariano Meza, 34, of Sun Valley, to 25 years in prison.

Jesus Contreras, 33, of Pacoima, to 25 years in prison.

Gilberto Carrasco, 27, of Sun Valley, to 15 years in prison.

Three defendants still awaiting trial -- Jose Ledesma, Raul Robledo and Javier Covarrubias will get the death penalty when convicted of the murder of the 16-year-old girl who had testified against another Vineland Boyz member.

Garcia, 23, is awaiting trial on state charges for Pavelka's murder. Prosecutors have said they are seeking death

Don Quixote, you're just a racist Mexican making excuses for cholos. You talk about the black gangsters that have no ethos when it comes to gangbanging, but what about the ethos of a criminal organization like the Eme that decides to launch a war against innocent
non-gangbanging blacks in overwehelming Latino areas like Canoga Park and Hawaiian Gardens.
Oh yeah, the P-Stones in the Jungles are so much worse than the 204th Street gangsters in the Harbor Area-I guess in your world the life of a 3 year old Mexican girl means more than the life of a 14 year old black girl.

You talk about innocent girls and kids being killed at the hands of Crips and Bloods, but yet so conveniently leave out the murders of innocent non-gangbanging blacks at the hands of cholos? What about
Demetrius Perry, a non-gangbanging black killed at the hands of Florencia 13 gangsters, who bursted into a gym and starting blasting on unarmed blacks, presumably a few of whom were kids probably just trying to shoot hoops? What about the 5-7 blacks killed by 204th Streeters in Harbor over the last 8-10 years? What about the innocent blacks killed in Hawaiian Gardens by that city's gangsters/loquitos, one of which involved a black man, a non-gangmember, being mobbed/beaten to a bloody pulp by 10-15 Mexicans with baseball bats to the point that when the police described the scene of his body they found some of his brains on the street? All of this, in Hawaiian Gardens, a city that no has no black gang presence whatsoever.

What about the innocent blacks killed by Pomona 12th Street gangsters? What about the shootings/attempted murders of blacks by Canoga Park Alabama gangsters, some of these blacks being football players on a local college football team? Once again, Canoga Park, an area that has no black gang presence whatsoever.

That mess about the Eme checking their own gangsters is so laughable, when the Eme is the one that encouraged these same Mexican gangsters to go out and kill blacks they damn well knew had no ties to claiming Crip or Blood whatsoever. There's been far more innocent blacks killed at the hands of Mexican gangsters than vice versa, especially since Mexican gangsters have a longer history of race-related killing, much of it going back to the 90s, as opposed to the race-related killings by black gangs which are much more recent. For every Mexican killed by blacks, there's at least 3, maybe 4 or 5 blacks killed at the hands of cholos.

Tell me Don, is the Eme gonna check the Avenues, Hawaiian Gardens loquitos/gangsters, Florencia 13, CPA, and 204th Street for the killings of innocent, non-gang affiliated blacks whose only crime was being black and minding their business in the presence of cholos? Yeah, just like the Bloods in prisons are gonna check Southwest LA P-Stones and Compton Fruit Town Pirus for killing innocent Mexicans instead of gunning for 18th Street and Compton Varrio Tortilla Flats gangsters? Yeah right in both situations-Mexican gangsters have just as much guilt and blood on their hands as black gangsters do.

Hey Don Quixote, a little clue: the Eme can't punish it's own street soldiers when it's telling its street soldiers to punish non-gangbanging blacks. In short, stop being a racist hypocrite!

SV VBS Good post, but its know use trying to get through to that bato who post all that bullshit, he only sees shit one way and thats his way. Plus he probably never lived in the Barrio so he dont even know what time it is and only post stuff he finds on the internet. I worked with one of your homies who got caught up in that rico pedo, good bato, everyone here at the chamba really liked him, I even wrote a letter for his attorney to give to the corte saying how he is an assett to the community and what an exceptionally great, kindhearted, careing, and gentle person this guy really is. Si Diosito quiere he will be out soon.

Did you also write to the judge that you thought Martha Puebla deserved to be killed because she was a rata? Make sure to mention you wanted them to stuff a canary her mouth because she might have testified about a killing of a innocent victim by a VBS cholo. I am sure you and Don Q can be good pen-pals to the latest "innocent" VBS cholo victims of the racist government.

I wonder if Tony Soprano is going to cry like a little chavalita when he gets locked up on RICO charges? Or will he take his punishment like a man, just like Beretta used to say if you "can't do the crime don't do the crime"

To all you cholos who are always preaching about how you want to help with the gang problems, tell the little cholitos about what serving a life sentence in a federal max facility is like.

Good post you have to keep mentioning the reality to a few estupidos on this blog.

But you are writing to a burro who will sure as shit say you are the only one here with that view point.

The really stupid comment was about the cholos taking care of justice against their own when they kill an innocent person, how pendejo can one be?

Hey Ray, your point got across well with the issue on bashing a hypocritical idiot(s) who discriminates on gang violence by way of race. I say idiots, because El Egg McMuffin guy is included with your group of 1960s Chicano Nazi Power burnt out ex-convicts.
However, most of the areas that you mentioned, in fact do have a small scattered percentage of blacks families. Depending where you reside, the attacks go both ways.....
Personally, I've seen more Black on Black and Latino on Latino.

Excuse me if I do not cry for the leader"

Leader??? What leader? There is no leader in my varrio and there never has been. The fact that my homeboy was labeled as such was only done to get a conviction. A couple of the vatos that you posted up are not even in the varrio, but yet were labeled as people with rank. Like I said before there was even a paisa who's only relationship to the varrio was that of a Gallero that took care of some of the homies gallos. That vato was some how made a member of rank in my varrio. Go figure.

Anyways why don't you mention the names of the rat bitches that made this show possible? And why not mention the crimes that these dirty bitches got away with for turning on anybody and everybody. These pieces of shit are the only ones ever caught with any illegal shit yet you let them walk. A jury is not very hard to convince especially when you stack a bunch of lies on a defendant. But convincing a group of judges that the law was followed at ALL times is different. I believe that some of these convictions will be overturned or at least lessened on appeal. And don't get it twisted no one is crying.

When it comes to thug shit mayates don't have any kind of ethics, and that's a fact. I'm not going to say that either death is okay but there is a big difference that you obviously don't see.

Gracias once again Montero. I think I might know who you are talking about. He was one of the many vatos that got 5 year sentences and should be out in a few. Many good homies went down on that pedo, and the fucked up part is that many were really not fucking around. A previous drug offense seems to have been the requirement to getting caught up in it. The way one of their lawyers put it "These cases were brought up to make an example and test the water for other gang indictments."

I can see that their objective is to get longer sentences on people through the fed system. But doing that is just swelling the ranks of the South Side in the fed system. Many of these vatos will get out and if they choose to, they will be better connected than ever before.

Very funny video about our "Border Patrol" GJ. I recognized that stretch of road too, right before the migra stop on I 10 west of Las Cruces NM. A lot of these old "Migras" spend hours parked in their patrol cars reading "Guns and AMmo magazine", then when the action starts they look like the "Barney Fifes" on your video, running around in circles while the Immigrants get away.
You think this is bad you should see some 300 lb fat minuteman chasing some 18 yr old Mexican!

The aiding the enemy charge stems from allegations he provided unmonitored cell phones to detainees.

Steele is being held in Kuwait pending an Article 32 hearing. The 451st Police Detachment Unit is based in Inkster, MI

Firstly I'd like to say to the obsessive pessimist here, GO JERK OFF ELSEWHERE. Now with that said lets talk Sopranos. I'm a writer and I've come up with a theory about how The Sopranos will end. If the show's writers didn't come up with this one, I wish I were on staff to pitch it! Just wanted to see what some of you might think.
How about this: Phil Leotardo recently lamented that he should have taken more action and control (and revenge), and now Doc is dead. Soon, Phil will avenge his brother's death by having Christopher killed (the eye for an eye thing). Tony won't be able to stand for that and he'll have Phil whacked. Thus, the NY structure will be severely weakened. (Little Carmine doesn't want it, remember?) Next, Tony will get nabbed by the feds and he'll go away for a long, long time. With Tony away and Christopher gone, who takes over both NJ and NY organizations? Bobby's not ready. Paulie isn't the boss type. AJ isn't even a consideration because he's a dufus. It will be MEADOW. She has her father's attitude and she's brilliant. She'll have her father's guidance and Sil as a consiglieri. Tony has no aversion to a woman boss because of the one in Italy. They've been setting something up with Meadow. Fin's out of the picture and they have just oh-so-casually mentioned her in each of the last three epsiodes ("And now she's going to be a doctor.") The writers perhaps are trying to introduce this subtly. That scenario will also leave the door wide open for a Sopranos sequel ("Donna Soprano" or "The Godmother" perhaps, )HBO knows that the fans are not ready to let go. That would be a great opportunity to keep us hooked.

Trying to justify the killing of one child by contrasting with the killing of another child is an exercise in futility.

There is no moral difference there, no ethical divide to be proud of. If that is your best defense of the cholos, it speaks to the fact that gangbangers of all races are doing the exact same fucked up shit.

Blindly defending that sort of indefensible action may seem like tough guy stuff from your side. If you break down the argument at all, however, it really does make you look like a tool...someone manipulated by genuinely tough guys (EME, etc) into spouting their ridiculous, hypocritical party line.

Alrato, you're a racist Mexican hypocrite too, just like your buddy Quixote. Where did it say in all of the news reports that the other blacks that 14 year old Cheryl Green was hanging with had gang affiliations? None of the news reports said that, because most, if not all, of the blacks killed by 204th Streeters in the Harbor Area had no gang affiliation whatsoever.

Mr. racist cholo Alrato, if you are so keen on refuting my assertions about Cheryl Green, then why did you so conveniently not refute the other brown-on-black killings that I mention? Because there's no way you could lie and say they were gang related when you damn well know the cholo killers knew these blacks weren't Crips or Bloods trying to encroach on Eme territory!

Try and lie and say the football players and other blacks being shot at by Canoga Park Alabama in the Valley were gangmembers. Try and lie and say that the three blacks killed by Avenues in NELA were banging, even though Highland Park has no black gang presence. Try and lie and say the black guy who was mobbed by 10-15 Mexicans with bats in Hawaiian Gardens, his fucking brains out in the middle of the street, was a Crip or Blood, even though there's no black gang presence in Hawaiian Gardens, in a city that is only 4.4% black (city-data.com).

The point is, Mr. Alrato, you and other Chicano cholo apologists have no right to put all the blame on black gangsters when there has been much more cholos killing blacks who never ever banged a day in their lives. You have no right to talk about the ethics of Crips and Bloods when the ethics of the Eme and cholos include killing blacks that they know have never banged and that are no threat to taking over their Chicano neighborhoods. There's been more innocent blacks killed by Mexican gangsters than innocent Mexicans killed by black gangsters and Mexican gangsters killing innocent blacks has been going a lot longer than black gangsters killing innocent Mexicans-that's the simple truth!

Am I trying to say black gangsters are more ethical than Mexican gangsters! HELL NO! Cholos are pieces of shit, and the Crips and Bloods are pieces of shit! That P-Stone that killed that pretty little Mexican girl in Southwest L.A. and those Crips that killed the Mexican family need to be given the death penalty-just like the 204th Streeters who killed Cheryl Green and the Avenues in Highland Park and 12th Street gangsters out of Pomona who killed innocent blacks should get the death penalty too! The fucking government should have given death to all of those Avenues in connection to the race-related murders-instead they went easy and gave them life!

In closing, Mr. Alrato and Mr. Quixote, there are no ethics in gangsterism-just pieces of shit who kill their own people over stupidity and kill those of a different color over stupid hatred. The NELA Avenues, the Pomona 12th Streeters, the Valley CPAs, the Hawaiian Gardens gangsters, the Florencia 13s, the Harbor 204th Streeters, and the whole Mexican Mafia itself are racist Mexican pieces of shit, just like the P-Stone Bloods in SW Los Angeles and the Rolling 30s Crips are racist black pieces of shit, just like the KKK in the South were racist white pieces of shit!

Racist pieces of shit of all colors, ruining life for the rest of us!

Gava Joe, that border patrol clip was great.

Ray, I'm speechless.

You guys wanted to get rid of me? Wanted to stop hearing my liberal bullshit? Ray just did it.

Ray has broken this race war down to it's core in regards to crime and accountability, and did so in a way that everyone here could clearly understand, and in a way that's just about impossible to refute. Ray, keep fighting the good fight.

Note that the rebuttal to Ray's points via referring to him as a "mayate sympathizer" is falling flat on it's face, due to him clearly putting Black gangs who deal in the death of innocents on the same level of accountability as the Mexican gangs.

Notice also that Ray isn't segueing into diatribes about people who idolize gang members, girls that date gang members, MySpace, etc. He's consistent in focusing on the crime, and it's criminals. I can only hope that Ray is a cop. God knows we need as many like him as possible.

I'll only be checking in once in a while from here on out. I think I know what I need to know about Los Angeles and Crime. And, at this point, the only 'chisme' I want to hear is about peace, not war. As far as war goes, I've got the memo. And from here on out it can only get worse. Spare me the details. However, I do look forward to "Mexican Mafia" by Tony Rafael, and will buy a copy.

I disagree with some of Tony's "Wally's" solutions, but he bases his writing on facts, facts that, we can all agree, are not seen in the mainstream press. I like to think that somewhere between Mundo's book, Monster Kody Scott's book, Luis Rodriguez' "Always Running", Wally's upcoming book, and the many books written about Los Angeles and this life, lies both the truth and the solution. It's just up to us to connect the dots.

"The Mexican Mafia controls virtually every Hispanic neighborhood in Southern California 'cept Studio City & sleepy Sherman Oaks. The Mexican Mafia is rapidly expanding its influence into the entire Southwest, the East Coast and even into Canada. With law enforcement seemingly powerless to stop it and riding a wave of unchecked immigration, the Mexican Mafia is poised to become the Cosa Nostra of a demographically changing 21st century America." Only the gravel-voiced, way fast-talking Chief Dan Mathews, in his super charged 1957 Buick Special stand in it's way. It's Dan Matthews, leaning against his patrol car radio-ing to headquarters 'Ten-four' (message received and understood) 'Ten-twenty' (report your position) and 'Ten-Six' (got to find a secluded spot to scratch my balls and fart) that encited and captured the public imagination around the world! When Dan arranges for the Border patrol to race anti-toxin to the near-dead boy, another complication occurs: the Border Patrol team in the van commence doing Chinese fire drills spontaneously and uncontrollably around the van at all signal light stops and screeching woo woo wooooo! ...Until Dan alone saves the day.

I nominate Ray for the new Drug Czar of Los Angels, he seems to know about many of the previous crimes of the gangs of Los Angels and he does not believe the stupid lies of the old cholos here in Wally’s blog. We need a direct talking drug czar who really knows what is happening on the streets of Los Angeles.

I laughed at the stupid cholos comments telling us that the gangs do not have a leader (shot caller), what a bunch of bull-shit that cholo was telling us. Every gang has a shot caller (leader) how fucking dumb do the cholos think we are? And gangs do not punish each other for the killing of innocent victims, if that were true we would see a big drop in the killings of innocent victims by the gangs. These old cholos are a funny and ridiculous bunch of characters, I remember when the 18th street cholos were collecting rent/extortion from many street vendors around Westlake, the police came down really hard on these pendejos about three years ago, and believe me we were glad to see them locked-up.

Ray even got the loco liberal gabacho (SNS) to see the truth in his ways/comments. But I still think the high price of housing in Southern California will have the biggest impact on the gangs of Los Angeles. Every time I go around the downtown area I see a new construction project, and the price of housing around downtown L.A. keeps going higher and higher. I am sure down-town Los Angeles will be much different in another 10 years. I see more gabachos moving into the central Los Angeles area every day, the billionaire construction company owners are the ones really changing Los Angeles. The rent for apartments and commercial properties keeps going up and up every year. The rich Jews are the ones really calling the shots in L.A. Me and many other stores owners around the West-Lake are starting to feel the pinch. I talk to many other small business owners around West-Lake and every one of us is seeing and feeling the gentrification of Central Los Angeles.

Tension will mount between the New York and New Jersey families. Tony and the boys will get away for a while by heading to Atlantic City. However, Tony has a streak of bad luck and ends up having to borrow $200,000 from Hesh. In order to pay Hesh back, Tony sells Carmela's spec-house, which causes a big fight between the two. AJ gets dumped by Blanca during the Puerto Rican Day pride parade, afterwards going into a deep depression. Vito's widow approaches Tony about helping her troublemaking son. Kelli's dad is the catalyst that starts a new feud between Chris and Paulie. Bobby and Janice are living in Johnny Sack's old house and Tony gets mad when they don't keep it clean. AJ attempts suicide by drowning himself with weights in the family's pool, but Tony saves him in time. Uncle Junior, however, will also attempt suicide and will be successful. Meadow is arrested at a rally for illegal aliens and has to be bailed out of jail by Carmela. Paulie's brother makes an appearance. Phil finds out that Paulie has been skimming money on an asbestos-disposal job jointly run by the Soprano and Lupertazzi families. Already angry over the death of his brother, as well as one of his captains, Phil looks for someone to hit in New Jersey. He decides on Paulie's nephew, Little Paulie. However, the hit occurs after Little Paulie has picked up Paulie's mother/aunt and both are killed. This naturally sends Paulie into a rage and the New Jersey guys want revenge. Silvio demands answers but nobody in New York is in the mood for apologizing. After Phil turns down Tony's offer of compromise, Paulie is killed. New York also attemps to hit Tony, he survives, but his driver Perry is killed. Afterwards, Tony is picked up by the FBI, who play him a tape of Little Carmine being involved in the plan to hit him. They try to flip Tony but he refuses. As a result, Agent Harris has to go to "plan B." In one of his sessions with Dr. Melfi, Tony will have a major breakthrough. The second to the last episode, entitled "The Blue Comet," will run 80-90 minutes and be mostly in black and white. It will chronicle many of the main character's entrance into the mob. Tony contemplates a difficult choice given him by Carmela. Meadow is in a serious car accident. AJ inquires about going back to school. Both Chris and Meadow get offers from the west coast. Bobby is killed by New York while coming out of a hobby train store with his son. Silvio and Patsy are killed by New York outside the Bada Bing. The final episode, entitled "Going Home," will run 90-120 minutes and be directed by David Chase himself. The former beachhouse will act as a refuge for Tony and his family. Artie ponders a problem from his past. Benny shoots and kills Phil outside a gas station. While driving Tony in his Cadilac Escalade when he is high, Chris loses control of the car and they crash. Chris is severely hurt, gurgling blood, and Tony is forced to put him out of his misery by choking him to death. Afterwards, Tony breaks down and cries uncontrollably. There is a final scene between Tony and Dr. Melfi, having been added at the last minute during filming. The series comes full circle when some unexpected visitors show up at the Soprano household. The final scene takes place in an old fashioned icre cream soda shop.

Nancy Sinatra will make an appearance in an upcoming episodes. Drea De Matteo will appear again as Adriana in a dream Christopher has.

Shit on a stick, there is no issue that people aren't willing to blame an ethnic or a racial group for all the problems? I love how EPR presents it like it's some kind of enlightened revelation. He's not one of those stupid racists--he's a Jew-hater!

It's not the Jews, it's not the Blacks, the Immigrants, the Mexicans, the Whites, the Koreans, the Muslims or the Chinese. It's the fucking system that's broken, and all the racist finger pointing is exactly the kind of distraction that allows it to continue.

So unless you can show how it's some racist/ethnic cabal that cooked up the fucked up prison system, the fucked up drug laws, the fucked up judicial system, the fucked up police force, the fucked up schools, the fucked up immigration system, and the fucked up families, shut up about race.

I'm not offended myself (my ancestry is a grand tapestry of poor white trash, thank you very much). But this shit is not just an irrelevant distraction, it's another huge problem LA has to overcome. So I guess you can add to that list: "fucked up racists."

In the ninth century, Sicily was occupied by Arab forces. The native Sicilians were oppressed and took refuge in the surrounding hills. The Sicilians formed a secret society to unite the natives against the Arab and Norman invaders. This secret society was called Mafia after the Arabic word for refuge. The society's intentions were to create a sense of family based on ancestry and Sicilian heritage. In the 1700's, pictures of a black hand were distributed to the wealthy. This was an unspoken request for an amount of money in return for protection. If the money wasn't paid, the recipients could expect violence such as kidnappings, bombings, and murder. By the nineteenth century, this society grew larger and more criminally oriented. In 1876, Mafia Don Rafael Palizzolo, ran for political office in Sicily. He forced the voters to vote for him under gunpoint. After being elected into office, he promoted Mafia Don Crispi as Prime Minister. Together the two put Sicily under government control and funnelled government funds to the society known as the Mafia.
In the 1800's, New Orleans was the largest Mafia site in the United States. It was while investigating the murder of an Italian immigrant that the current Police Chief, David Hennessey discovered the existence of this secret society. Police Chief Hennessey was assassinated before this murder case could go to trial. Twelve men were charged with this assassination but were lynched by a newly formed vigilante group. The Italian Ambassador demanded that the vigilantes be tried. President Harrison who disproved of the vigilantes and gave a large cash settlement to the families of the lynched men. This was a widely publicized case because of its' foreign ramifications and the involvement of the President of the United States. Don Vito, Vito Cascio Ferro, was the first Sicilian Capo de Tutti Capi. He fled to the United States in 1901 to escape arrest and formed a group of the Black Hand. Its' members were hardened criminals currently fugitives from Sicily. He is known as the Father of the American Mafia. In 1924, Mussolini was determined to rid Italy of the Mafia so many members fled to the United States to avoid persecution . This increased the numbers of members in the organization. Got to go fry my egg's now.

Research has shown that the Mafia has become a wide spread problem. The Mafia has continued to grow and infest our society from the early 1900's. It continues to exploit and destroy the honest hard working 9-5 average Joe & Jane citizens of our country. Now, these criminal organizations not only control the adults of our communities, Colleges, PTA, but have begun, through the sale and distribution of narcotics, to control the minds of our children. Crime organizations must be stopped however this is a difficult task. They have infiltrated members of our government and law enforcement agencies including the Highway Patrol and the State Militia with the lure of money, dames, dope, Rock N Roll and now with Rap.

I agree that there is a shitload of money being invested in downtown LA. And most of it seems to be going into the restoration of all of the old buildings. High priced Studio lofts and condos, along with great entertainment venues. You can't go wrong with that.

Have you noticed that the gavas that you speak about are mostly young single professionals and not couples with kids? As a business man you should see that this is the best clientele that a gangster can ask for. Much better than those nickle and dime skidrow fuckers. Sure the demographic's of the area will change but gangsters will be right there to make there profit.

I love that use of the word "bote"! I heard a commercial on spanish radio the other day that started out, "Tienes alguien en el bote, necesita ayuda para salir?", the ad then went on to talk about a lawyer that would help you get out of jail...that was crazy!

Anonymous said...

Mr Multiple Personalities says there's no difference at all between the killing of a 14 year old black girl, who was standing in front of a liquor store with the homies (at a notorious gang hot spot in contention) or the murder of a 16 year old girl walking down the street with two mayates in the Aves varrio,
and the point blank, face to face murders of a totally innocent 3 year old girl, and the murder of a completely innocent 10 year boy after being forced to lie on the ground and blasted in the back with automatic weapons, by 37 and 34 year old mayate gang members.

Although all are admittedly cowardly, unneccesary, acts of murder, if I was on a Jury trial, I'm sure I and almost anyone would consider the murders of a 3 year old girl (the mayate killer went back after shooting the father and purposely shot the ninita in the chest!), and the racist, random murders of three totally innocent kids, including a 10 year old boy laying face down in the street, by a 37 year old low life mayate gangster with an automatic weapon no less.
No, I would think that anyone would consider these chanates to have commited the more heinious crimes.
I don't recall any Chicano gangster, no matter how callous purposely killing baby's without immediate and deadly retaliation occuring.

Also "Homer and Jethro", you incorrectly equated the word "mayate" with "Nigger" which is totally erroneous, (and don't steal the word "erroneous", con safos, and wear it out like you did with epiphany or epitome!)
The spanish word "mayate" describes a type of june bug that is both large, colorful, and noisy as hell. The mayate (june bug) alas is all bark and no bite (no sting),
and the word is sometimes used in a jovial manner in Mexico and here in the USA,like if one were to call a friend popeye, or gordo, or molacho ( no front teeth) or chino ( slanted eyes), sometimes Mexicans or Chicano's use the word mayate to describe another camarada if it fits. It can be used in an aggresive and hateful way too like pinchi mayates culeros, or pinchi's mayates sin verguensa's, but the word itself is not the same as nigger per se.
Nigger is a very hateful descriptive term invented in the racist southern USA,like greaser or pepper belly, or wetback.
OK enough for today, go brush your teeth and do your homework.

Alleged gang member is killed after pointing his gun at police
Shot in the arm, 21-year-old suspect barricaded himself in a Harbor Gateway apartment where he was found dead. A 21-year-old suspected gang member died Thursday night after an officer-involved shooting near the border of the Harbor Gateway and an unincorporated county area west of Carson, officials said. Gang officers shot Pedro Renteria of Harbor City when he allegedly pointed a handgun at them as they patrolled the area around 225th Street and Normandie Avenue around 6:40 p.m., said Los Angeles Police Department Officer Martha Garcia.

Chief Dan Mathews continued vengenance on the shysters, second story thiefs, the gunsels packing heat, check for loan offices, and the rotten underbelly of America.

"Jim Dandy in a submarine, got a message from a mermaid queen, Jim Dandy didn't waste no time, always hate to see a little girl cry, Jim Dandy to the rescue!! Go Jim Dandy! Go Jim Dandy!"
Opps! shit different hero, back to Chief Dan Mathews.
Armed only with his 38 snubnose, brass knuckles, blackjack, and slim jims, the Chief singlehandedly takes on the Mafia's five families of New York. Dan Mathews wrathful vengence turns the streets red and bodys are found stashed in airport storage lockers, old unused subway trains, in wooden crates, on ice at the Fulton Fish Market, under the unused seats at the Knicks game.
Little Italy sees a series of explosions which destroy Mafia hangouts like "Luigi's Clam House", Garibaldi Social Club, and "The Knights of Columbus Hall".

The crooks scatter in fear, like coakroaches in a "raid" commercial.
The CHief takes aim at Wallstreet, but leaves it for another day, at the moment all is calm in "The Big Apple".
Chief Dan Mathews has another "tormentor" of the American people on his list before heading SOuth, "David Chase" the conniving, inscrutable, mastermind of the "Sopranos" series that has the people of the US torturing themselves in useless and time consuming speculation of the outcome.
Chief Dan goes to work! He, (with the help of a couple of slim jims), gleans information and Chase's location from a now deceased "leg breaker" for the former Gambino mob.
After a brief conversation with the Chief, Chase spills the beans.

"Tony S" continues slipping into his paranoid unreality, His allies and his enemies take notice of the bizzare behavior and avoid him, which creates even more paranoia.
Paulie knows Tony is gonna hit him and takes refuge with the NY Goomba's who plot to wack big Tony before he implodes.
Tony can't get Christopher to respond (due to movie and Chiva commitements) and hits Christopher out of desperation and rage.
This does not go unnoticed by Tony's mob family and they all scatter for cover.
NY moves in for the kill, and after an unsuccesful attempt on his life and personal family and Home, Tony goes to Dr. Melfi and breaks down sobbing for advice.
Dr Melfi assist's TOny and Carmela in entering the Fed Witness Protection Program.
Tony, while appearing on worldwide TV during the "Mafia Hearings" (making Joe Valachi seem like a deaf mute) becomes the biggest media sensation since Monica Lewinsky bought kneepads.

In the end Tony Soprano, (with the help of the movie industry contacts developed by Christopher), his whole family, and the former NY Mafia boss "Carmine" (who rejects mafia life, and develops a fascination with Hollywood), are seen living as wealthy Movie moguls in their secure beachfront compounds on the beach in Malibu Colony, protected around the clock by "secret service agents"
Carmine divorces and after converting to Judiasm marries Tori Spelling, Meadow becomes a famous plastic surgeon to the stars, Carmela gets involved in "Real Estate Development" in Simi Valley, and AJ (who still has Mafia aspirations) hooks up with the Emeros and handles the Meth, Ecstasy, illegal steroids,Botox, and other drug trade along Pacific Coast Hwy.
Final scene; Tony in a beachchair, looking out at the blue Pacific, sharing a Ruffino Chianti with his new buddies Larry King, David Geffen, Cardinal Mahonney, and rich novelist "Tony Rafael" all planning the new Mafia movie "He who Laughs Last Laughs Best"

Saludo's to Chief Dan Mathews, Highway Patrol, he gets the job done no matter what the cost.
Next stop, the South on the "Night Train"

"Very well--if you feel that way about it--" Greene (DA) turned his back
upon him and began a low-toned conversation with Hallet. Jennison
(the suspect) and Charlie Chan were together on one side of
the desk. Chan took out a pencil and accidentally dropped it on the
floor. He stooped to pick it up.

John Quincy saw that the butt of a pistol carried in Chan's hip pocket
protruded from under his coat. He saw Jennison spring forward and snatch
the gun. With a cry John Quincy moved nearer, but Greene seized his arm
and held him. Charlie Chan seemed unaccountably oblivious to what was
going on.

Jennison put the muzzle of the pistol to his forehead and pulled the
trigger. A sharp click--and that was all. The pistol fell from his hand.

"That's it!" cried Greene triumphantly. "That's my confession, and not a
word spoken. I've witnesses, Jennison--they all saw you--you couldn't
stand the disgrace a man in your position--you tried to kill yourself.
With an empty gun." He went over and patted Chan on the shoulder. "A
great idea, Charlie," he said. "Chan thought of it," he added to
Jennison. "The Oriental mind, Harry. Rather subtle, isn't it?"

But Jennison had dropped back into his chair and buried his face in his
hands.

"I'm sorry," said Greene gently. "But we've got you. Maybe you'll talk
now."

Jennison looked up slowly. The defiance was gone from his face; it was
lined and old.

"Maybe I will," he said hoarsely.

Wow...this is some messed-up Baghdad-style stuff. From the LA Times Homicide blog:

West Adams: Robert Hunter, 34, a black man, was shot at a homicide funeral Saturday morning at about 10:20 a.m. Saturday, April 28 and died later that night at a hospital. Two other people, a black man and a woman, 33, were injured by bullet-graze wounds to their legs and ankles and were treated at a hospital and released. The attack took place at Southern Missionary Baptist Church at 4678 Adams Blvd. during a funeral for a homicide victim. Hunter was that victim's cousin.

Hunter and the suspect were among the crowd at the entrance to the church. Police said they believe they argued. One of the combatants left in anger, then returned with a gun and began shooting. Other attendees at the funeral produced guns and shot back. The suspect escaped.

"Other attendees at the funeral produced guns and shot back. " It's like some kind of ghetto edition of the Onion...it's hard to believe.

Anony-mouse rejects my lesson in Spanish/Spanglish regarding the word "mayate" and it not being equatable to the white racist developed word "nigger".

Well you know the old saying, "you can dress them up, teach them hygine, how to read, and maybe speak so as to be understood", but in Mr multiple personalty/Homer and Jethro's case as with many of his ilk, he still ends up washing his face in a frying pan and wiping his ass with a dried out "corncob".
For many like Mr MP ignorance is bliss.
By the way Homer/Jethro you asked about the spanish word "Chango" (monkey) and it's use to describe low down Mayates.
Well, Homer/Jethro I can see that you either haven't done any time with mayates or that your of Afro heritage yourself.
Anyone who has ever had to live with the mayates when they have a group situation or god forbid a majority, will know why the descriptive term "chango" (monkey) would apply.
Being locked up with these mayates when there is a group "hair discussion and workshop" taking place, or it's feeding time, with the maya's complaining about the lack of meat in the food, and the "big time lifestyle" thier accustomed too, (got my bitches working for me right now, hope they keep my new ride shined, my penthouse apt is paid up for the year,). "These motherfuckers don't know who they dealing with!, hey blood can I borrow some hair creme? My bitches better get me that store money!"
And all the while 20 of these African Americans are talking loud and all at once!
Thats why "Chango's" is such a descriptive and appropriate term, as anyone who's spent any time around these mayates would recognize immediately.

Leon is quickly becoming something of a press darling, he's on MSNBC, Reuters, and does interviews on the web--all from the SHU.

I'm guessing he's in no danger, as he's the one calling the green lights. Besides, he never acknowledges gang activity, just that he "helps his friends."

He seems like a real challenge to LE, even though he's being charged with new stuff this month, he's made clear that there's no level of solitary confinement that can flip him. If you can't kill him, it seems, he's going to call shots.

He's dangerous, smart, and intriguing, that's for sure...Can anyone tell us more about him?

You know the saying “you can take the man out of the ghetto but you can’t take the ghetto out of the man”. Every race has their fools who will never change. You know how some people criticize the mayates for acting black, talking loud, using Ebonics and etc……

Well every race has those idiots who think acting like an educated and civilized person means losing you ghetto/varrio identity. Why do you think many people say mayates are loud, rude and condescending civil service employees? Is it partially true, or is it pure racism, every race has it group of idiots who enjoy being low-lifes or don’t know any different. Many cholos/mayates think associating with people who posses class and dignity is a being a sell-out. This has been perpetuated for years, I guess poor uneducated idiots always want to make sure they have lots of company.

Read the article below and this applies equally to Blacks, Latinos and uneducated idiots. Some people can read a thousand books but will never be educated in the art of socialization and assimilation.

Comedians chide blacks to change
By Yolanda Young
If the axiom that "there's truth in joking" is to be believed, comedians are challenging some in black America to see the error of their ways.
Corey Holcomb — NBC's Last Comic Standing contestant and self-described ghetto Dr. Phil — frequently mocks the illegitimate and unfaithful with quips such as, "I have two 6-year-olds, and they ain't twins."

Holcomb's digs are part of a growing trend of black comedians chiding the pathologies that plague segments of the African-American community.

• Bill Cosby, who has received the most public attention, recently admonished "those people" for speaking incorrectly, killing senselessly and dressing literally "backward."

• Stand-up comedian and HBO host Chris Rock has used the punch line: "I love black people, but I hate n———" — those whom he described as lazy, unscrupulous or proud of themselves for staying out of jail.

• The premise of Bernie Mac's TV show is two siblings who take divergent paths. One winds up in the ghetto, unable to care for her kids; the other lives in the dignified world of the upper middle class.

Comedians, by echoing the sentiments that blacks express in homes, barbershops and churches, are taking some blacks to task for their ghetto mentality and urging instead a get-up-and-go attitude. Indeed, the notion of "ghetto" isn't where you live, but where your head is. This new distinction is not based on one's wealth, class or skin tone, but one's mentality.

Critics have called these rants oversimplified and insensitive characterizations of the poor. But as long as 16-year-olds are being killed for offering to buy a girl a Slurpee at a 7-Eleven (as happened in Maryland in May), such grumbling should fall on deaf ears.

These comedians have zeroed in on the disappointment and disdain that decent, law-abiding blacks feel for the morally impaired among them. This frustration is causing a fair number to separate themselves. A Newsweek poll found that 66% of blacks prefer school vouchers, which often place black students in majority-white schools. A quarter of blacks see themselves as political independents, and the number of black Republicans has more than doubled since 2000.

Some blacks are offended by such commentary, but rather than sulk, the time has come for the African-American community to deal with the truth.

Otherwise, the joke's on us.

LAPD CHIEF 'DISTURBED' BY MACARTHUR PARK MELTDOWN

A bunch of lazy ass interventionist with no degrees or crediblity. Just a bunch of loser getting paid top-bucks to bullshit SF Valley teens.
They dress down in gang attire, loks sunglasses on, focusing and pointing out to tell a youngster to hurry up and turn around to look at a group of "fime hynas big asses." Instead of educating a young teen on prevention issues on the dangers of gangs, drugs, and sex, he is too busy educating the youngster not to be a snitch, conceal dope, tell police on his rights, and get some booty from all the local hoodrats. You can one day grow up to be like me.... Gang bang, go to jail, get out on Parole and get a job with Clowns in Showbusiness. Live your entire life as a number in the criminal system and live your life depending on free hand outs and social services.
We should be assisting and providing services to all the good kids that obtain good school grades and attendance who cant even afford to buy some lousy books for community college. This is bullcrap!!:(

***********************************
Unfortunately, the attitude of people today is:
I should be able to stand wherever I want whenever I want. Just because the police tell me I must vacate the are doesn't mean I have to.
When the cops give an order to disperse, and people refuse, the cops have two choices and two choices ONLY:
Move them by force or turn around and walk away. We saw what happened when they don't move them out during the 1992 riots. Then when they do move them by force, people say they overreact. Same old story.
If I don't want to get beat down or shot with a rubber bullet, I get the fuck out of there like the cops ordered me to do. I guarantee you that if some maniac with an uzi had opened up on the crowd, those people would have ran as fast as they could to get out of there.
But because it's the cops, and the cops MOST LIKELY aren't going to kick their ass, they figure they don't have to do what they're told. They THINK they know their rights.
If the cops give a lawful order to disperse, and people refuse, they can use whatever FORCE is reasonable and necessary to disperse the crowd. It appears that verbals commands didn't do the trick, so they used force.
Now people can debate what amount of force was reasonable and necessary, but there is no debate as to whether or not the cops have the legal standing to use force. The law gives them that authority.
Bottom line:
If you're told to leave and you don't..you're taking the chance of getting roughed up a little bit. That's what happens when cops use force.
Christina Gonzalez, the reporter, was a perfect example of the attitude people take today. A cop pushed her (didn't slap, punch, kick or strike her with a baton) and she starts yelling at the cop:
"You can't do that". The cop absolutely can, and did. The city might pay some big bucks out, but that cop won't end up paying a dime.

I guess you don't have the deductive reasoning to wonder why NONE of the reporters or camera persons on the scene failed to record the announcement to disperse, OR the members of the crowd throwing rocks and bottles at the cops, which is what started the whole thing.
Amazing how some people are shown a video, and think that's all thgere is to it.

People apparently no longer feel the need to wave them around and make calls in a 'look at me' kind of way. They have taken on board the message that making calls can be seen as a nuisance and quite rude. Keep your stupid cell phones out of Santa Monica, they are killing our bee's, use indian smoke signals if it's so damn important!!!!!!!

There's no evidence whatsoever that enough rocks and bottles were thrown at police to warrant the action that the LAPD took. They had the protesters outnumbered something like 3 to 1. It was downright barbaric, and it was caught on tape.

Ohh...the ultimate fuck up is that they even took down a couple of media people in the process.

N-O-T G-O-O-D.

That's what likely catapulted the story to world wide, "Breaking News", status. Otherwise, it's likley the press wouldn't have even given a shit.

The media has each others backs, and they won't forget this for a long, long time. They will not waver until heads seriously roll in the LAPD, from the TOP on down. The media is not some rag tag civil rights group...They've got a little more pull.

I think the news reporter has a good law suit for getting kicked while on the ground. For what? For doing his job? Then, another cop tries to help him up and escorts him out of the mayhem. Thanks a lot for the ass kicking bro.
Aside from that scene, who cares about the police clearing out the park. Everyone knows the is the biggest dirt bag area in los angeles - the citizens, the police, and the criminals know this. Your in their turf. LAPD knows better on what was going to happen --- all the A-O were going to take advantage of the protest and come out to pay back for the Rampart Scandal and police abuse of the 1980-90s. IF you go anywhere in the City of Los Angeles and ask people the random question on whether disliking the police - this area is a clear winner with a landslide vote.
The rest of the major cities had a good peaceful open relationship with the local police departments - even traditional racist cities in Texas. Only LA was controversial.....
Why? Because we got another Mexican Political Cricket in City Hall. Plans a trip to El Salvador while LA needs him here. Who cares about El Salvador and the MS. He ass should have been in Iraq visiting the men and women serving from the city of LA. That would be the only accepted excuse on jumping ship at a critical time.
OK enough for today, go brush your teeth and do your homework.
dq
***********************************
Using this logic, "wetback" would not apply to any Mexican who did not swim across the Rio Grande to get in the country.

"Beaner" would not apply to anyone wasn't a bean farmer or bean picker.

"Greaser" would not apply to anyone
who doesn't lube cars for a living.

Using your logic Mr. Quixote, Mexicans shouldn't get offended when they are called any of these names by people of another race.
But of course, we all know that's not the case.
You screwed up and realized you had done so. Then instead of admitting your mistake, you compound it by posting a totally laughable response in an attempt to prove to us that you didn't make a mistake.
Anyone with a double digit I.Q. and has ANY undersdtanding of the Spanish language knows what the term "mayate" or "chango" mean when a Hispanic uses them in reference to black people.
Some of your other posts show your utter contempt and hatred for, in your words: "Low down mayates".
Then you try to sell us a line of shit about how you didn't mean it like that.
I guess you think the readers of this blog are stupid.
Not so.
Admit you fucked up and move on.

Girl, 17, is shot to death outside of Carson club
New, 7:05 a.m. Party crashers return, fights break out in the parking lot and someone fires into the crowd early this morning at a "21-and-under-night" event; heavyset female suspect sought.

A 17-year-old girl was shot and killed in Carson today, authorities said. The shooting occurred at 12:42 a.m. in the 800 block of East Dominguez Street, said Deputy Maribel Rizo of the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department. Authorities did not immediately release the name of the fatally wounded teen. The girl was shot in the head outside the Bistro 880 nightclub, where she was attending a party on ``21-and-under night,'' NBC4 reported. The violence occurred after people who tried to crash the party were told to leave. They returned, fights broke out in the parking lot, and someone fired into the crowd, a sheriff's investigator told NBC4. The suspect was described as a heavyset black woman, 17-20 years of age, 5-feet-8-inches tall, wearing blue jeans and an orange T-shirt. She reportedly drove off in a white Nissan sedan with tinted windows.

CNN'S DOBBS ON '60 MINUTES': U.S. COULD DEPORT ALL ILLEGALS
Thu May 3 2007 14:17:35 ET

He has never called for the deportation of all illegal immigrants, but Lou Dobbs believes the U.S. could pull off such a feat if it really wanted to. The CNN anchor, whose stance against illegal immigration has helped raise his ratings but also fueled criticism, speaks to Lesley Stahl for a profile to be broadcast on 60 MINUTES Sunday, May 6 (7:00-8:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network.

Dobbs is against amnesty programs for illegal immigrants and the president's guest worker proposal, so Stahl wonders whether Dobbs thinks the government could deport all illegal immigrants. "I've never called for their deportation,"says Dobbs. "But at the same time, when this president and open-borders, illegal-alien-amnesty advocates say, 'You can't deport them,' my answer is, 'You want to bet?' because this is the United States. I think this country can do anything it sets its mind to," he tells Stahl.

"I think this country can do anything it sets its mind to"
Well Louie, the majority of the United States doesn't want too. Neither does Bush, so go put some Vick's in your culo chowder head and get a warm fuzzy feeling.

Ive seen a few post on here with people saying the mayates or the mexicans don't know how to raise their kids and that's why they gangbang.I haven't seen any comments with solutions though. Here's a email that was actually sent to me by my moms.
The Mothers Who Drugged Us...

The other day, someone at a store in our town read that a Methamphetamine lab had been found in an old farmhouse in the adjoining county and he asked me a rhetorical question, ''Why didn't we have a drug problem when you and I were growing up?'' I replied, I had a drug problem when I was young: I was drug to church on Sunday morning. I was drug to church for weddings and funerals. I was drug to family reunions and community socials no matter the weather. I was drug by my ears when I was disrespectful to adults. I was also drug to the Wood Shed when I disobeyed my parents, told a lie, brought home a bad report card, did not speak with respect, spoke ill of the teacher or the preacher, or if I didn't put forth my best effort in everything that was asked of me. I was drug to the kitchen sink to have my mouth washed out with soap if I uttered a profanity. I was drug out to pull weeds in mom's garden and flower beds and Cockle Burs out of dad's fields. I was drug to the homes of family, friends, and neighbors to help out some poor soul who had no one to mow the yard, repair the clothes line, or chop some firewood; and, if my mother had ever known that I took a single dime as a tip for this kindness, she would have drug me back to the Wood Shed. Those drugs are still in my veins and they affect my behavior in everything I do, say, and think. They are stronger than cocaine, crack, or heroin; and, if today's children had this kind of drug problem, America would be a better place.

God bless the parents who drugged us

If the McArthur Park fiasco by the Police would have happened in another major city then people might give LE the benefit of the doubt.
But in that it involved the LAPD with their history of brutallity and racism then it's almost impossible to cover up and claim that the LAPD mugging of people was justified.
ANy one who has grown up in LA has seen the typical over reaction and violence prone LAPD conduct themselves in this manner. I personally have witnessed this same scenario on a larger or smaller scale many times, it's their MO.
I like Chief Bratton and I think he's truly trying to improve relations between the LAPD and the community. This is the only way we can diminish our numerous problems with gangs and crime and suppression of the violent atmosphere we suffer with.
I think that if Bratton comes down on these racist goons with a heavy hammer it could turn the incident into a positive for all.

But right now all Bratton and Mayor V's work to change attitude's and perceptions vis a vis the LAPD and world opinion has been set back years by the brutal reaction of the LAPD goon squad to a supposed incident of plastic bottles being thrown and thier rampage on innocent bystanders and the press who witnessed the whole fiasco.
Sad situation caused by a few Cops acting like gangsters.

"We saw what happened when they don't move them out during the 1992 riots. Then when they do move them by force, people say they overreact. Same old story."

One small wrinkle in your comparison:

THERE WAS NO RIOT. There was no violent behavior. Nobody was pulling white people out of their cars and beating them to a pulp. The bottles being thrown? So far, this is the police side of the story. With all of the cameras running, it's pretty fishy that none caught the bottles, just like the camera never seemed to catch Rodney King 'resisting' while on the ground and surrounded (The LAPD's version of the "lone bullet theory").

The LAPD fucked up again, and the WORLD saw it. Like I've said before, this department is founded on racism, and has been operated by racist idealists up until 1992. It will take generations to weed out the racist vermin that plague it, and we saw yet another exhibition of that this past weekend.

Deport Lou Dobbs.

Like the fox news assholes he NEVER invites people on who talk about the history of the border, the wars, the mass deportations, et al, with the exception of radicals that he can easily make fools of in front of his mainstream white audience.

He never brings on the scholars who dress and act professional, that will school both him and his audience on just why the immigrants are coming back to the land their grandparents were shoved out of: There is nothing in that fucking desert!

How the fuck do you live off of dirt? The agriculture is HERE. They were here before us. They are Indians, for crying out loud. Look at their skin? Think that's a coincidence? Do they just spend a lot of time at the beach? These people are like 20% Spanish, if even that. They speak the language, and that's about it. They are more American than Lou Dobbs, Bill O Reilly, Sean Hannity or any grey haired asshole republican with an american flag lapel stuck to their jacket. What part of THAT does Lou Dobbs not understand?

From today's Los Angeles Times, this is one of the biggest problems of Los Angeles, to many stupid kids in lousy schools with lazy parents who do not get involved in their education.

The district flunks
The latest study shows once again that L.A. Unified School District doesn't even read its own homework assignments.
May 4, 2007

READ THE LATEST REPORT on the Los Angeles Unified School District and weep. Then marvel that anyone manages to accomplish actual education in an organization so profoundly broken.

The review, commissioned by district Supt. David L. Brewer (and available at latimes.com/lausd-report), lays out a woeful scenario of policies never adopted, or adopted but never carried out, or carried out incompletely and confusingly. Progress is stymied by bureaucratic inertia, lackadaisical attitudes and, far too often, because people don't know what they're supposed to do.

A school board election May 15 could begin to transform the district's governance, if the two reform-minded candidates backed by Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa win. Or it could consign the schools to a few more years of same-old same-old.

The report, by Evergreen Solutions, makes the status quo unacceptable. Not that its findings are exceptionally new. The district has been studying itself for years, with similar results. But what the latest analysis details is how little progress district leaders have made on the recommended reforms. And few among the district staff worry about it because they're seldom held liable for their actions. The lack of consequences is such a far-reaching problem that the study mentions accountability 120 times in a 115-page report.

It all starts at the top. There, the school board neglects its two key functions: setting policies and holding top administrators responsible for carrying them out. A district report in July said that the "role of the school board needs to be clearly focused." It was the most important job the board faced — defining its own job. Yet the Evergreen study noted that "no action has been taken to implement this recommendation." Instead, the board has frittered away its time naming schools, lauding its own accomplishments and micromanaging textbook selections.

One consequence is that there is no instructional plan to see students smoothly from their first days of school through graduation, to make sure that what they're learning in elementary schools is what's needed in middle school and so forth. And though former Supt. Roy Romer ordered up a comprehensive guide last year, with a deadline of Feb. 23, 2007, staff who knew Romer was a short-timer simply waited him out.

And why shouldn't they? In a perfect organizational Catch-22, the district's own Accountability Office has no authority to enforce deadlines.

There's a chance for this to change if both Tamar Galatzan and Richard Vladovic win seats this month. Anything less will stick the schools with a board majority that fails time and again to fulfill its proper role — and in fact continually illustrates it doesn't understand what that role is in the first place.

Anonymous said...

The guy who argued on the LAPD having two choices of using force not is a total idiot. He needs to read a little and get informed on the law suit that the News Agencies won against LAPD a few years back. It was clearly agreed that LAPD would not use force against reporters. Again, a new law suit is needed....this is unaccepted. You seem to be a little punk kid making stupid remarks.

Exactly my point. Thanks for making my it for me. People started throwing rocks and bottles, and the police gave an order to disperse. If you don't believe people were throwing rocks and bottles, wait till the investigation is concluded and see if there is any evidence of the police calling for help because of it. All the radio transmissions are taped. Some people didn't disperse, so they got moved by force. SO THERE WAS NO CHANCE FOR A RIOT TO TAKE PLACE.
As far as the Rodney King reference knucklehead, the COMPLETE video WAS played at trial. But the media NEVER showed the complete video. The media's job is to get people to buy newspapers or watch TV. Police brutality sells, and it sells big.
A FOOL belives what he WANTS to belive, and a wise man belives what the evidence SHOWS him.
A FOOL believes only the part of the evidence that supports his pre-concieved notions. A wise man believes what the evidence SHOWS in it's totality.
People who are anti-police will use this as a "see I told you so",
while those of us who have no axe to grind will see it for what it is.
By the way, as far as you saying it was due to racism, do you have ANY idea what the ethnicity of the police officers were. Obviously it is varied, but I would be willing to make a little bet here in front of all the other bloggers SNS.
I'll bet you that the highest percentage of ethnicity of officers would be Latino. If I'm wrong, I'll leave the blog forever.

Just what was the occasion for all these marches? I mean I saw Mexican flags flying even out here in Kansas among the few completely peaceful marchers. I know it's some sort of immigration reform protest that was being recognized, and its become a mundane tradition that is probably going to be repeated ad nauseum for decades.
If these folks want to assimilate into American society, or worse yet, institute an "open door" policy at our borders why the fuck are they flying the Mexican rag?Your LAPD wears the flag of our country on their sleeves.. There are forces MUCH more devious than illegals from the South that intend to bring down our institutions, and time has become of the essence to stop them. Granted, our leaders are so gridlocked and stifled with their own self-interests that its likely no progress will be made, but the fools in the park are'nt any help whatsoever. I'm of the mind that the lack of interst and large groups nation-wide joining in this demonstration is a clear sign that the majority of this country realizes we have bigger fish to fry, and we're all in this mess together whether you hold citizenship or not. If you're here, then focus on reclaiming America's high ground instead of reveling in her disgrace.. Furthermore if you need an excuse to party, want to cookout and drink some brews, then do it on Cinco de Mayo, but don't fly that Mexican rag. You appear as hypocrites, one and all if you celibrate the independence of a country that you or your ancestors fled, rejected for the bounty of my country. What a bunch of snivvelers! Sure your cops over reacted, but all you did was allow it to happen.. The media took some licks because that's what they do, it goes with the job title, and I can't help but observe that they seem to revel in it. When I see No Script attack the pundits, I respectfully submit that " there are pundits in every strata of society", and I'm quite sure plenty of self-assuming movers and shakers were in that McArthur Park mob stirring up the shit.
Happy Cinco de Mayo! The powers in their infinite wisdom declassified Columbus Day and you did'nt hear the dagos raise such a "hissie fit", did you?
So now rip me a new one but realize its falling on two deaf ears. I'm of the mind that it's the time for all good men to come to the aid of their country.

P.S. Script I liked you better when you were gone..

Fuck it ese, if the people in the park or in New Orleans were told
"we'll give you $10,000 to get out" both places would have been deserted in 5 minutes. This shit is funny. Ok, so don't leave when you're told to, or pay the price. Your choice. Shut the fuck up and quit crying.

WTF Gava Joe, you gonna tell me that theres something anti american about flying the colors of your heritage and ancestors?
SHit I have seen all kinds of parades and celebrations by many different ethnic groups. I'm first in line for some Irish Whiskey on Saint Paddys day and I'll give em a cheer when they wave that Harp Flag.
The nuns used to let us kids in Catholic school out for St Josephs day and all of us, Paddys, Chicanos and Dago's would visit the houses in the neighborhood where the Italians were putting on the St Josephs day feast's. ANd they flew the flag of the old country too. We sang Santa Lucia along with them and savored the celebration.
WHen it's Chinese New Year it is Gung Hai Fat Choy! (or something like it lol) and we all celebrate!
Whats wrong with the Mexicans having a Pachanga too? There were 10 times the number of Stars and Stripes compared to the Mexican Flag on May 1st, but what the hells wrong with an ethnic group flying thier colors? It's an AMerican tradition except when Mexican's do it, then all of a sudden it's anti American.
Come on GJ lighten up and enjoy the times we live in.
By the way Joe the Congressional Rep who had Columbus Day made a holiday was a Chicano from Trinidad Colorado, the famous Casimiro Barela, born in Embudo NM and proud of the Spanish for "discovering the "new world".
Even though we had a Dago captain (Cristobal Columbo) it was the Spanish who fronted the feria cause the Dago's are so cheap they would rather eat their first born son than give up a nickel.
Just jiven you GJ but lets relax and enjoy the show, it's gonna get better.

LOL your daddy George Bush is still catching hell over the NO bullshit, "good job Brownie" .
Sometimes being a Nazi doesn't pay, now the whole LAPD is catching hell, stupid. Heads are going to roll over the McArthur Park meltdown and we'll be hearing again from the idiots who make excuses for brutal behavior no matter if it was the Pope who got jacked.

"LOL. The people who caught a beatdown are just like the people in New Orleans who didn't get the fuck out of the city after being given two days notice.

(Shut the fuck up and quit crying)

But then that defeats the purpose, doesn't it? If they leave when ordered to do so, they have no police brutality chants to utter and people can't rag on the LAPD. By defying the "pigs", they create their scenario (gee, I was shot in the culo by a rubber bullet) and ride the wave all the way to CNN!

When a police officer gives an order to disperse, I was taught to obey. If you make up your own rules as you go (as the illegals want to do) then there are consequences for those decisions. They should be thankful that the Nazi LAPD's measures were non-fatal. Embarassasing but non-fatal. I wouldn't be pleased to show my butt with red welts but I think we'd all take that over a live round!

If I'm right, you do the same. You want to take the bet?)

You are absolutely correct. They were predominately Latino.

While we are on the subject, most Chicanos in L.A. that I know (all my family members included) pretty much agree that illegal aliens are just that: illegal and don't belong here.

There is no doubt that companies wish to hire illegals; there is no doubt that the vast majority of illegals are people who wish to make an honest living, someday become citizens, have their children serve in the armed forces, etc.

But there is a lawful avenue to accomplish all of this. If we disregard the laws that we don't agree with then big problems arise.

I'm an educated Chicano that grew up in the worst areas of LA (4 brothers with multiple BA/BS/Master degrees) and we would never agree with a statement that Chicanos in LA "pretty much agree that illegals aliens are just that: illegal and don't belong here."
First of all, if you had any proper formal education, they are not called aliens. I m not going to waste my energy with responding to uneducated idiotas. But clearly it seems that your just a typical wannabe rich sell-out Mexican coconut that probably never amounted to anything in your life and just wants to mingle and mimic the image of racist America.

One thing I can tell you, it's better having LAPD at the park than the LA County Sheriffs. Sheriff have a large handful of dirtbag racist cops and they are assigned to areas of the County were they can practice their personals views.
Someone recently told me that SouthEast cities like South Gate and Maywood are typical example for this racist behavior due to dirty officers being re-hired in these small agencies.

Pax Nobiscum - I wo'nt apologize for my redneck ways. They come from 24 yrs of observation from a safe place. I never ran from a fight, and took some brutal lickins for the fault. I see your society so embroiled in greed and territorial power that what happened in the park is the only way your public safety dept. could have responded.. Granted there were some zealots in that "blue wedge", but I saw a lot of cops who were probably two notches from panic.. I'm guessing their tighty whiteys had lil yellow stains in them. It seems the mean streets and the long blue line may never find their Woodstock..LOL

I stand by what I said as regards the ethnic flags, DQ. It's admirable that LA has 200 ethnic groups funtioning under one canopy. But the time has come to identify as one nationality so maybe we can, as a group, regain the position of role model for the rest of this highly divided planet.

Exactly my point. Thanks for making my it for me. People started throwing rocks and bottles, and the police gave an order to disperse.

And people dispersed, and were beaten and shot with rubber bullets, anyhow.

If you don't believe people were throwing rocks and bottles, wait till the investigation is concluded and see if there is any evidence of the police calling for help because of it.

Doesn't justify the actions taken against people who were dispersing, again, caught on tape.

All the radio transmissions are taped. Some people didn't disperse, so they got moved by force.

What about the ones who did, and were still attacked? Like, the ones that were captured on tape? Why was there a guy with open wounds, on his back? That means he was walking away, and was still attacked anyway.

SO THERE WAS NO CHANCE FOR A RIOT TO TAKE PLACE.

Nobody who would riot were even out there. These were mostly immigrants protesting a cause relating to their livelihood and college campus leftists. The latter, yes, I can see. In this country, college leftists are fucking pussies. In this country, it's the hoods that riot. The gangsters were nowhere to be found. This was a peaceful crowd...attacked by a police force that's far from peaceful.

As far as the Rodney King reference knucklehead, the COMPLETE video WAS played at trial.

I don't care if Rodney King was dancing like Sugar Ray Leonard and challenging those cops to a fight, the bottom line is that they had him on the ground, and were still pummeling him. That's inexcusable. And anyone who can apologize for it, like you, probably just enjoys watching people who are outnumbered get beat on. Because there was no other purpose for it.

But the media NEVER showed the complete video.

What are you, going to cry now? Do the cops tell the whole story when they're trying to justify their actions? Do district attorneys look at every side of the issue before they file charges? Hell now. Unless it might burn their case. But if they have evidence, they go for it. How can you expect the press to act any different? The onus is on the cops for not doing their job in a lawful manner, not the person that shows the tape.

The media's job is to get people to buy newspapers or watch TV.

It's not the job of the media that's at issue here. It's the blatant violation of civil rights by the police. Do you believe in accountability, at all? Or do you always look for an outside source to blame?

Police brutality sells, and it sells big.

So address the manufacturer, not the middle man.

FOOL belives what he WANTS to belive, and a wise man belives what the evidence SHOWS him.

You're right. The evidence shows me that cops broke the law. But you, the fool, believes what you want to believe, that the actions of a few justify brute force against people who were following orders by the police.

FOOL believes only the part of the evidence that supports his pre-concieved notions.

The only evidence that's at issue is the obvious, blatant unlawful behavior by the police, caught on tape. Everything else is bullshit. There is no excuse for a cop to fire a rubber bullet at a man's back, when he is walking away. Ever. If you don't like that, pack your fucking bags and move to a police state. Russia's nice in the summer.

A wise man believes

How would you know?

People who are anti-police will use this as a "see I told you so",
while those of us who have no axe to grind will see it for what it is.

This is not about anybody being anti police. This is about police breaking the law.

I see what this is about, for you. You're going to make excuse after excuse for the officers' behavior, instead of holding them accountable. Take away their badges, and anyone who takes the same apologetic route to justify one's behavior is a 'bleeding heart'. Seriously, what separates you from them, other than you being a mindless sheep on the other side of the fence?

By the way, as far as you saying it was due to racism,

I never postulated that this incident was due to racism, aside from pointing out past incidents involving LAPD brutality that I believe are racist. However, it's a fair question to ask.

do you have ANY idea what the ethnicity of the police officers were.

Do you have any idea what ethnicity of the people are who own most of the land and the businesses in this country, and who fund the campaigns of just about all of our leaders, at all levels? Given that, am I supposed to give a shit that most of the cops using excessive force were Latino (considering even most of them were..)? It's almost like someone sympathizing for slave owners with the rationale: "Most of the slaves picking the cotton were Black". I'll do you one better, all of them were. And all of those police could have been Latino, but they are Latino in a white man's world. And they know who the boss is.

I would be willing to make a little bet here in front of all the other bloggers SNS.
I'll bet you that the highest percentage of ethnicity of officers would be Latino. If I'm wrong, I'll leave the blog forever.
If I'm right, you do the same. You want to take the bet?

I'm sure you'd like to get rid of everyone that has an opposing view from that of the police spin machine.

P.S., Gava Joe, are you ever going to make up your mind between barrio White or redneck? Looks like the congregation here isn't going to let you be both. Get off the fence and stand for something, and stop worrying about my presence here.

The LAPDs first excuse for the incident was that there had been a small group of young people that had been heckling them all though out the day. This same group we are told is the group that started to throw the rocks and bottles later at 7th and Alvarado. Out of the countless videos that were shot that day, so far none has shown any rock or bottle being thrown.

One thing to remember is that this demonstration was being held on May1st, International Labor Day. And there were in fact a few anarchist's who as we know always want to mix it up a little. Maybe it was this group that the LAPD is referring to as the cause for their trouble. Assuming this is in fact the case. I would say that the LAPD still fucked up.

The LAPD had undercover plainclothes officers scattered all over the rally. They knew what was going on every step of the way. If they were really getting heckled and lured into a fight by a few punks, the top brass would have known from the beginning. That means that the unruly protesters would have been singled out and detained at the first sign of any bottle being thrown, or maybe even before. I believe that they always had people in place to stop and detain these punks with out having to take it out on the innocent.

I was not at this event but it looks me like there was really not that much of a warning before the rubber bullets started flying. It's obvious that most people never heard any dispersal order given. But it does seem that most people moved out of the way as fast as they could once they saw what was happening.

And what the fuck is the difference if the cops at the scene were Latinos or not. That didn't seem to stop them from beating on their own. One would figure that they would somehow have a little more compassion for their brown brothers and sisters, but I guess not.

There appears to be no reason for the LAPD to use the amount of violence that they used. To shoot over 240 rubber bullets was overkill. To shoot those bullets at a crowd that was mostly composed of entire families (men, women and children)is beyond comprehension. But to beat on the media was fucken stupid.

I could be an Aryan, but they're way too close-minded and paranoid. The AARP keeps sending me letters to join up, but they're too old and subserviant to the Man. I only tolerate cops, don't respect their "gang mentality", but for the numbers and their extreme use of publicity will cut them a wide swath..

You guys don’t seem to read the previous posts, the cops mention something was thrown at them from above (maybe from an apartment building)? I listened to some of the radio calls but it appears the calls are after the police had dispersed the crowd from McArthur Park. There is over an hour of radio calls on the web-site link. Also there were a couple of good personal videos of the incident.

I would like to thank the LAPD for giving Wally's readers a real topic/issue to discuss here. It was getting pretty boring a reading the repetitive diatribes of the old cholo spokesman.

THis is refreshing coming from the Mayor and the Police Chief, what was obvious to all who saw the meltdown by the LAPD (and the idiotic excuses being thrown around) is now being said by the Mayor and Chief Bratton.
I wonder if Mayor Tony V is thinking dollar signs and law suits and more bad publicity.

These knuckleheads at the LAPD will probably whine and cry about the hammer coming down on some ass's from the brass up above, and we'll probably hear about resignations of upset officers. I say good riddance, those kind of neanderthals need to go to places like Idaho where they can be with thier own cronies of like mind.

"LAPD again didn't heed protocols, critics say
By Patrick McGreevy and Duke Helfand, Times Staff Writers
May 5, 2007

As Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa returned to Los Angeles on Friday in hopes of quelling anger over the LAPD's use of force at an immigration rally, he and other officials questioned why officers ignored rules established after a similar incident outside the 2000 Democratic National Convention.

The department ended up paying reporters and demonstrators more than $4 million for actions during the convention and agreed to a sweeping series of restrictions on how officers deal with large crowds.

"There were protocols that were supposed to happen in these kinds of situations," Villaraigosa said. "Clearly, those protocols weren't followed. We've got to ask why, who was responsible and what consequences there are for not following those protocols."

The restrictions ban officers from using "less-than-lethal" weapons on individuals and crowds unless they are combative, require police to give protesters time to clear out of an area before force is used and establish "safe areas" where the media can operate without LAPD interference.

Chief Bratton; "It's embarrasing to the Dept. A lot went wrong"

All this talk about what really happened at McArthur Park reminds me of a saying I heard, which says there are three sides to every story; In this case
1) The police story
2) The news media story
3) The truth

The cops are going to want to say the crowd was ready to break out in a full scale riot, and had come under "heavy" attack by rocks and bottles. The police need to be smart and bring along their own cameras.

The news media is going to say the police were extremely brutal and heavy handed and were never provoked. And will not show any news footage of people confronting the police or throwing anything at them. They have a great story about how they being the victims this time.

When the truth is some where in between these two extremes of the story.

I have heard a motorcycle cop was injured from a thrown bottle. And a few bottles were tossed at the police. And yes there were a few people yelling and pissing off the police on Alvarado street by the park. And the police probably did a lousy job of announcing the order to leave the park from a noisy helicopter. And when you get a bunch of cops in riot gear you know they are going to get excited and want some action. Give a cop a gun with rubber bullets and he will want to "play" with his seldom used toy.
One thing I have always wondered is why they police don't have a group leader for smaller groups of cops. Just like in the army where you have one person in command of smaller groups. Anytime you get any large group in the middle of action, they are only going to get more worked up. The "mob" mentality it also applies to the police as well. So if cop in you small group knocks over a reporter with a camera and another one tosses it around the group leader can tell them to go pick up the camera man and his camera, so you don't look like total idiots on television for the whole world to see. Just like the cholos have the ghetto mentality many police have the cop mentality.

At the time of the incident, the officers and the watch commander were unaware that a camera, which had been set up near the holding room to obtain evidence of vandalism to chairs in the detective squad room, captured a portion of the assault...

December 07, 2006
LAPD Officer Arrested
Los Angeles: Today, Los Angeles Police Chief William Bratton announced that investigators with the Department's Professional Standards Bureau arrested a 13-year veteran officer early this morning for violating Penal Code Section 149, Assault Under the Color of Authority.

Forty-one-year-old Sean Joseph Meade was arrested at his home around 7:00 A.M. this morning after a non-stop investigation, which began around 2:00 A.M. Tuesday, December 5, 2006.

At approximately 1:25 A.M. on December 5, 2006, Officer Meade and his partner were handling booking procedures for the arrest of a 16-year-old Hispanic male, who had been detained in Chinatown on a curfew violation. The detainee had been taken to the Central Area Police Station.

After hearing a disturbance between Meade and the arrestee in a juvenile holding room, a third officer alerted the station watch commander who immediately initiated a personnel complaint investigation. The watch commander directed Scientific Investigation Division to take photographs of the holding room, the officer, and the detainee. The 16-year-old was examined at a local hospital, but he had no apparent injuries. He remains in custody at juvenile hall as police have not been able to locate his parents or a responsible guardian.

At the time of the incident, the officers and the watch commander were unaware that a camera, which had been set up near the holding room to obtain evidence of vandalism to chairs in the detective squad room, captured a portion of the assault.

Investigators and technicians enhanced the videotape and viewed it. Upon being notified of the preliminary findings, Chief Bratton ordered that Officer Meade be relieved of duty, which occurred at 8:00 P.M. on December 6, when the officer reported for duty at the police station. His badge, gun and police identification were taken.

After viewing the tape himself later that evening, Chief Bratton ordered the officer’s arrest. Prosecutors from the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Justice System Integrity Division (JSID) have been informed of the investigation, as has the Mayor’s office, Inspector General, the Police Commission, and the FBI.

The criminal and disciplinary investigations are ongoing. State law limits the amount of information the police department can disclose from a peace officer personnel complaint investigation, including the videotape of the incident.

LOL ... No, I'm far from rich. And an "educated" man who fires off insults like "sell out" and "coconut" makes me feel like I'm back in the 60's listening to the Brown Beret rhetoric.

The "image of racist America" sounds like Corky Gonzales' dream of Aztlan. You must be one of these Chicano racists, who blames anyone with pale skin and blue eyes for his woes instead of growing a set of testicles and "claiming what your American heritage" has to offer. Oh, let me guess, you're still waiting for Pancho Villa to resurrect and fight your battles for you.

It's your right to march on City Hall and seek to open the floodgates for an indefinite flow of "illegal immigrants" to sponge on our hospitality. It's my right to disagree. If standing up for what's right and correct in our society makes me a "sellout", then I'm proud to be a "sellout". That rhetoric doesn't change a thing.

Wow. Strong stuff to be living an "oppressed" life in a white man's world. Hey, some of my best friends are white boys. (poking fun at you but very true) There are many folks who are overjoyed that the LAPD crossed the line in this May 1st situation. You seem to equate being a police officer with being "a white man". So every cop must be pretty vile in your view? Is being a white man a bad thing? You must be a non-white person yourself then? Maybe experienced much trauma in your childhood? Sorry to hear that.

The writers have obviously lost sight of the fact that what made The Sopranos so compelling was the contrast of Tony’s violent criminal lifestyle against his personal life. Now the show seems to pay lip service to sleepy, drama-free plotlines while they waste hours of tape with heavy handed explorations of Tony’s neuroses. Once again, another season seems to be wasted on episodes that promise action, conflict, and resolution of old plots. Instead, we get slapped in the face with new characters and hours and hours of more inaction. I’m out.

Following are excerpts from a talk given by Debbie Johnson at a meeting in Detroit during Black History Month this year.

There is a long history of Mexicans welcoming and assisting Blacks fleeing American slavery. The fact of the matter is that when white “slave-hunting” militias would come into Mexico demanding that their “property”—the enslaved workers—be returned, many Mexicans rejected these pleas and were angered at the fact that these slave hunters would have the audacity to enter Mexico and attempt to impose their laws in a nation that had already banned slavery for moral and religious reasons.

As early as 1811, the Rev. Jose Morelos—a Mexican of African descent—led an all-Black army brigade to help fight for Mexican independence. In 1855 more than 4,000 runaway slaves were helped by Mexicans in Texas to escape and find freedom in Mexico. The Underground Railroad was not just into Canada. It went south as well.

Indeed, throughout three centuries, African slaves were joined by Mexicans in opposition to the exploitation of Africans by European “immigrants—settlers—on the North American continent. Just a few examples of this long and rich history of solidarity are:
• In 1546, Mexico recorded the first conspiracy against slavery, which occurred in Mexico City among a coalition of enslaved Africans and indigenous insurgents.
• In 1609 in Vera Cruz, Mexico, Yanga established the first free pueblo of formerly enslaved Africans in the Western Hemisphere.
• In 1693 within the area of the “United States,” which was in fact Mexican territory, an alliance between African runaways and rebellious indigenous tribes developed and resulted in considerable cooperation and intermarriages between them. It was much like that which developed between African people and the American Indian communities.
• In 1820, in Mexico, the pro-independence army commanded by Black Gen. Vicente Ramon Guerrero was joined and saved by the courageous Mexican/Indigenuous leader Pedro Ascensio. This army won many battles in resisting French and American colonial wars of occupation.
• In 1836, during the battle of the Alamo, Mexican troops fought not only to keep the U.S. from annexing Texas, but also to abolish the dreaded practice of slavery carried out by pro-slavery white settlers. While the Mexican people did not have to join in this fight, they believed slavery was wrong, and they helped fight to stop it. Mexicans consistently took in and helped Black slaves who would run away from the U.S. Another “underground railroad”—this one south of the border—saved the lives and allowed the freedom of thousands of African people fleeing enslavement by European settlers.
• During the period before the Civil War, Mexican authorities refused to return enslaved runaways to the U.S. slaveholders. Aided by Mexicans in Texas, thousands of runaways escaped to freedom in Mexico. The U.S. government had to send 20 percent of its whole army to the Mexican border to try to stop this and intimidate the Mexican people, but the people continued to aid escaping slaves.
• In 1862, during the Civil War, at the same time French colonialists had invaded Mexico seeking to take over. However, at the battle of Puebla on May 5, the Mexican defenders, with the help of freed African slaves—this army was considered the complete underdog—defeated and turned back the French invasion. It was a great victory, now celebrated as Cinco de Mayo. This victory was also a blow to the slaveholders of the United States.
• One historical event, organized through the solidarity of Mexican, Blacks, Indigenous and Asian people, was the “Plan de San Diego.” This was intended as a general uprising by these peoples joined in the Southwest, initiated in an effort to regain the lands stolen in the U.S.’s aggression in the 1840s, which include California, Texas, New Mexico, Arizona and other states of what is now the U.S. Southwest. The plan actually addressed and recognized the contributions of Blacks, Asians and Indigenous people by granting them freedom and autonomy. Although the plan was not successful, it revealed the long history of solidarity of peoples of color in struggle against those who would enslave them.
• In 1866, Mexican President Benito Juarez confirmed an 1851 land grant giving Black people in Mexico a sizeable place of refuge at Nascimiento.
• More recently, in 1960, the Latin American communities were excited by the hosting of the Cuban delegation, led by Fidel Castro in their historic visit to Harlem and the United Nations. This pride and joy was shared and celebrated equally by the African American community.
• In 1964 that joint celebration and welcome was laid out by the African American and Latino community to the heroic revolutionary leader Che Guevara. The pride and joy of each of these communities with the presence of Che would be remembered and celebrated for years.
• In that year, Che Guevara also met with the revered Malcolm X, as Malcolm offered his solidarity and appreciation for the work Che had done with freedom fighters in the Congo as they fought against the neocolonial “immigrants” [settlers] there.
• In 1968, solidarity was developed in Southern California and the Southwest among the Brown Berets, Black Panthers, the Student Nonviolent Coordinating Committee and other progressive youth organizations.
• In 1992, during the April 29 rebellion in Los Angeles, Latino and African American neighbors recognized their common plight, and demonstrated their collective rage against continuing acts of injustice, oppression and exploitation.
• Then came the magnificent immigrant-rights demonstrations of last spring. What glorious events they were, across the country, in wave after wave of white and brown—the white clothing of the millions of demonstrators and the brown faces of the Latino/ Mexican peoples who were joined by Central America and South American workers, which were also joined by Caribbean, Asian, African, and African American allies. Make no mistake about it, this class solidarity shook the ruling class to its very toes. It frightened and deeply worried them. It gave a glimpse, even in the midst of periods of reaction, of the crucial struggles that are on the agenda.

The current attacks against immigrants must be seen as attacks on all workers. This current assault on Latinos/Mexicans is just another tactic—like racism, homophobia and sexism, that the ruling class uses to pit workers against each other. The only winners when this happens are always the bosses.

Anarchy would take place. People would get killed. You would get a whole new meaning of brutality. Hmmmm, just like happened in 92.
Getting shot in the nalgas with a rubber bullet or jabbed in the chi
chi with a night stick is not that big of deal, compared to what some people would do if the cops weren't there to protect the majority of the group.

Sponge? Sponge on our hospitality? The vast majority of immigrants I have known and witnessed, work like animals and are family oriented religious people who through hard work and frugallity make it and thrive here despite the contempt and phoney "laws are being violated!" attitudes of many.

Immigrants are the reason our food and services and construction industry costs have remained low and stable.
If people call that sponging on our hospitality they must have blinders on.
The "borders" of our country were purposely allowed to be crossed by millions of people by our great US leaders the past 30 years or so for obvious economic reasons like breaking the power of Unions and providing cheap labor costs, and providing a "release valve" for thier "AMigos", the corrupt Mexican powers that be. All these and many more conspiratorial reasons were in place, but don't blame the poor immigrants for coming here to make a better life. Immigrants have been manipulated in this manner since Egypt needed Jews to build the pyramids.

Sponge? Sponge on our hospitality? The vast majority of immigrants I have known and witnessed, work like animals and are family oriented religious people who through hard work and frugallity
[One “l” in frugality. So, nominate them for sainthood or something but don’t make the weak argument that because they’re hardworking – like your parents and mine were – that that constitutes immediate and automatic qualification for citizenship) make it and thrive here despite the contempt and phoney "laws are being violated!" attitudes of many (so fuck the laws that we don’t agree with, is that it Mister “I hate LAPD yesterday” and “I love LAPD today?”).

If people call that sponging on our hospitality they must have blinders on.
(I’m sure you are a welfare-upon-demand-for-anyone advocate as well)

The "borders" of our country were purposely (purposely but not illegally) allowed to be crossed by millions of people by our great US leaders the past 30 years or so for obvious economic reasons like breaking the power of Unions and providing cheap labor costs, and providing a "release valve" for thier "AMigos", the corrupt Mexican powers that be. All these and many more conspiratorial reasons were in place, but don't blame the poor immigrants for coming here to make a better life.

(if any of these “wrong reasons” is accurate, that still doesn’t give anyone a license to immigrate illegally and the “dumb Mexican attitude” doesn’t wash either! Why in the world would the “poor immigrants” hire a coyote in the first place if they weren’t aware they were coming over illegally?)

Immigrants have been manipulated in this manner since Egypt needed Jews to build the pyramids. And anybody that doesn't see that the immigrants are only pawns in an Economic Master Plan is either blind, stupid, or has a racist agenda.

(Geez, and then we wonder how drugs continue – at higher volumes – to be introduced across our borders)

You definitely read it correctly – sponge. Some of you seem to confuse one’s nationality vs. ethnicity. First of all, DQ, Don Viejo, or whatever you choose to call yourself on this otherwise “Anonymous site” (don’t insult my intelligence by demanding that people identify themselves – Call me the Great Chicano Sellout if you’d like), the notion that hardworking people can DEMAND automatic citizenship is ludicrous. You sound like previous (and current) Mexican Presidents who state (regarding our problem with illegals as well as our drug problem): “If there was no demand, there’d be no supply!” In other words, they (the Mexican government) justifies the never ending supply of drugs into the U.S. from Mexico by saying that the demand justifies it. Conversely, “because some idiot employers wish to hire illegals (and exploit them and pay lower wages and take them on illegally instead of doing it in a FAIR manner, it’s likewise explained away similarly): the demand (for illegal aliens by the employers) justifies their presence.

We forget something that should be very basic: We live in a society governed by rules and laws. Those laws aren't perfect but they are OUR laws. ILLEGAL foreigners (remember the word ILLEGAL) cannot DEMAND to enjoy the freedoms and the hospitality afforded to American citizens because they are NOT American. If I invite you into my house to eat, bathe and sleep (in the Judeo-Christian manner) and then you demand to stay indefinitely, do you believe I'm supposed to simply yield to your demands and turn my house over to you? Would you turn your house over to me?

Most foreigners claim to desire to be American citizens yet they badmouth the U.S. and claim their love for their mother country. Some country's would call such an attitude treason. I call it
ingratitude. How dare you cross our borders (illegally), enjoy our hospitality and resources (at
the expense of our taxpayers), wave your native country's flags (while demanding citizenship!),
and then spewing slogans of "racism" and "police brutality" (after your radicals incite violent
confrontations).

In response to the cries of racism, tell that to the countless Mexican-Americans who have no "race card" to play! How do I know this? I am a Mexican-American. Our voices have yet to be heard and we and many of us feel exactly as the majority of Americans about this issue. As for police brutality, talk to the Mexican police about brutality and corruption. This is but one of the Latin-American countries you are fleeing.

You cite outdated examples that suit your agenda. If we go back before the Native American Indians, I'm sure we'll find other people who can lay claim to this land. What does this mean? Absolutely nothing. Even the Texicans (Mexicans residing in Texas who fought bravely in the Alamo against Santa Ana's Mexican forces) preferred to be governed by the U.S. than the treacherous Mexican government.

If you choose to disrespect American Citizens (remember, you can forget crying out against
our government. It's American CITIZENS you are now disrespecting) by dissing our laws, then you are indeed as lawless as a common criminal. Where do we draw the line, then? Will it become ok to shoot heroin in public, even though it's against the law? Not a great example? Then how about all of us driving 100 miles an hour on the interstates. We should then protest that the laws don't matter because we are in a hurry.

As for our laws being responsible for the fragmentation of illegal immigrants' families, you should have thought about that one BEFORE you crossed the border illegally. I also have sympathy for the children of a bank robber who goes to prison but does than mean that I'm to release him
from custody because his children will suffer because of his bad choice? Hardly.

Respect our laws, proceed in a lawful manner and do not expect to be rewarded for lawlessness.
It may work in Mexico, but not here. Your Mejico Lindo y Querido (Beloved Mexico) awaits you. Go there and endeavor to change your beloved homeland's laws rather than freeloading on your
neighbor's hospitality. Don’t SPONGE on our hospitality.

(Next time there's a march like this I think the police should just take the day off.)

Then they'd be hollering about not enough racist LAPD protection. It's a lose-lose.

• In 1992, during the April 29 rebellion in Los Angeles, Latino and African American neighbors recognized their common plight, and demonstrated their collective rage against continuing acts of injustice, oppression and exploitation.
-----------------------------------
52 people were killed during the "rebellion" you mention. Hundreds of people had their businesses burned. Anarchy ruled.
And you talk about it like it's a good thing?
You Angelenos get what you deserve.

The current attacks against immigrants must be seen as attacks on all workers. This current assault on Latinos/Mexicans is just another tactic—like racism, homophobia and sexism, that the ruling class uses to pit workers against each other. The only winners when this happens are always the bosses.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^You need to talk to union members
and construction workers. You are out of your fucking mind to state that the bosses would be the only winners if illegal immigration was stopped. You have it exactly backwards. The bosses are the only winners right now.
Immigrants come in and do jobs that Americans won't do. Americans WOULD do the jobs immigrants do, but not for the wages the bosses pay the immigrants, which is always minimum wage or below. The blue collar worker in America suffers greatly from illegal immigration, and those in border states where there are large numbers of illegal immigrants have very little if any chance of EVER being paid above minimum wage due to the easy availability of illegal immigrants to do the work.
The guys who own the McDonalds, Dennys, Motel 6's, etc. etc. are the winners. The American citizens who wish they had a chance to make more than minimum wage working there are the losers.
If the Guatemalans come in mass to the country 50 years from now you'll here Mexican's saying the same thing the anglos and blacks are saying now.
Wake up and smell the menudo.

1.Cops give order to disperse.

2.People, media members included, refuse to disperse.

3.Cops disperse them.

4. Everybody gets all upset because it shocks their conscious to see the force used.

5. Villaraigosa does what Mayors do.

6. Bratton does what police chiefs do.

7. Police PPL president does what PPL presidents do.

Maybe LAPD will now come up with a policy that if people refuse to disperse after given a lawful order to do so, a crisis negotiator will be called in to talk the people who refuse to disperse. If they still refuse to disperse, the police have the authority to disperse them by force.
So I guess what was missing in the park was the cops saying:
"Pretty please"
"Pretty please with sugar on top"
"You really need to leave"
"You better leave or else"
"Okay, we're not fooling around"
"You're going to get hurt"
Bullshit. If that's what it takes to disperse a crowd all Angelenos better stay away from any marches or demonstrations from now on. You aren't safe because the agitators will know the cops can't do anything, and they will quickly escalate the situation into a riot.
I guess you people don't remember what happened in 1992.
I wish there were a bunch of no nonsense cops at the corner of Florence and Normandie that day.
52 people would still be alive, because there would not have been a riot. It would ended right then and there. It's a short step from people refusing to disperse, and throwing rocks and bottles at police, to a riot. That's how riots start. Any intelligent person who has ever been in a situation where mob mentality is present knows this.
All that will happen now is LAPD will come out with more restrictive policies, some cops heads will roll, and the message will be sent for the cops to be even less aggressive than they are now.
Then next time there's a riot, the people will say how the cops should have stopped it, just like in 1992.
Now all you cop haters go ahead and blast this post. But history tells us the results when cops refuse to be aggressive. Bratton saw it in New York, and did the right thing and empowered his officers. Now in order to keep his job, he will sell out and make more restrictive policies.
You will see the results at the next gathering/march/demonstration
when it turns into a riot and innocent people lose their lives.
Of course, that will be the cop's fault too.
Classic damned if you do damned if you don't situation.
Now go ahead and tell me I'm nuts, or a Nazi, or a racist.
History tells the tale, right here in our beloved city.
