LONG TIME NO POST.
As you can imagine, getting a book off the launch pad isn't something you can do on a part time basis. I've been going flat out for the three weeks and haven't had a minute to post.

The book is hitting the stores as we speak while reviewers and media people have gotten early copies. For the most part, the response has been positive. More on that later on. The take from Publisher's Weekly, however, was generally negative and they took one quote the wrong way. I quoted DA Manzella saying, "We know exactly the kind of families that produce criminals. I'd like to go in there and take them out. But we can't do that." What the DA meant was TAKE THEM OUT OF THOSE FAMILIES. Not "take them out" as in terminate them. The intent was clear to everybody that read and edited the manuscript but apparently, you have to spell things out to some people. The point the DA was making was that public policy will not allow kids to be yanked out of environments that we know will produce unhealthy attitudes or destructive behaviors. It was very clear from the context of that entire paragraph exactly what the DA meant. The sentence prior to that stated, "the ultimate road block to a gang is a stable family." Some people read into things that which they choose to read.

On another topic, be on the lookout for radio appearances. I just got a schedule of potential interviews and I'm waiting for confirmation. If there's any interest in posting up a schedule of interviews, let's hear about it.

Welcome back Tony. I for one would like that schedule of interviews, though I suppose plenty of interested parties right here on the blog will post the links WHENEVER you appear on the radio bands.Congrats on the finale of what I'm sure was a long, tedious process. I'm waiting anxiously for Amazon to ship my copy.

I would'nt waste huge piles of anxiety on what the early critics snipe about. They are what they are: critics. Their gimmick is easy.
Once again, welcome back we missed you..

Please post your radio schedule when they're confirmed. Love to listen in.

Great to have you back Wally. For a second there I was under the impression that an Agency forced you to stop posting due to criminal proceedings and info posted. Alas, you are back. -Jose619

Hey Wally!

Good to hear from you again!

I read the criticism from Publisher's Weekly (on Amazon) and suspected that they probably misread Manzella's quote. (Thanks for the clarification)

Please post your interview schedules. (Maybe we can get you booked on Hannity & Colmes?) (-;

Best of luck on the release of your book. I'm hoping to get a few autographed copies, if possible.

With respect,

Norwalquero

THE COVER LOOKS GOOD ALTHOUGH I PROBABLY WON'T READ IT UNLESS I GET A FREE COPY,SO UNTIL THAT HAPPENS I GUESS I'LL JUST HAVE TO SIT TIGHT. ANYWAYS I THOUGHT I'D GET AT YOU, BEING THAT YOUR CONSIDERED A SELF PROCLAIMED EXPERT ON THE EMERO LIFE. ANYHOW AS I'VE BEEN BROWSING YOUR BLOGS, I STILL HAVEN'T CAME ACROOSS ANYTHING REGARDING THOSE WHO THE CARNALES ON THE CALLES AND UP IN THE BAY FALSLY POLITICKED ON AND WHO BECAME VICTIMS OF CIRCUMSTANCE.
FOR EXAMPLE, VICTORIO DE VISA,
THE DINOSAUR HIMSELF REDDOG BETTER KNOWN AS TATI DE LA RANA, OR CHACHO DE CANTA RANAS, JUST TO NAME A FEW. THESE BROTHERS GOT CAUGHT UP IN A WEB THAT STRANGER DE ROCKWOOD CREATED WHILE WORKING WITH THE FEDS. I REMEMBER CHUCO DE VNE,WHILE HE WAS WORKING WITH THE FEDS HE ABUSED SOLDADOS TO THE EXTREME,FOR EXAMPLE HE WOULD BITCH SLAP PROSPECTS JUST FOR NO REASON JUST TO SHOW HIS AUTHORITY. BUT STRANGER ON THE OTHER HAND ISSUED GREENLIGHTS ON WHOLE BARRIOS IF THEY LOOKED AT HIM FUNNY DURING A JUNTA, ALL WHILE UNDER THE PROTECTION OF THE GOVERNMENT. OH YEAH WHAT ABOUT THE GUERRA WITHIN LA MARIPOSA THAT TOOK PLACE DURING THE TURBULANT SUMMER OF 98. CUATE FROM LA RANA, HAD PERSONAL ISSUES WITH TIO PIO, AND CONVINCED CERTAIN CARNALES IN THE BAY SUCH AS TIGERE DE AVENUES TO RECRUIT OTHER BROTHERS TO CONSIDER THEMSELVES VERDADEROS,SUCH AS TABLAS DE FLORENCIA AND HIS REAL BLOOD BROTHER BABO TO GO AGAINST TIO PIO, BUT TIO HAD HIS FOLLOWERS AS WELL, SUCH AS CHUY DE VNE AND HIS SIDE KICK MONO. ANYWAYS BIG WALLY, I HOPE YOU SCHOOL YOUR READERS ON HOW DECEITFUL THE MEXICA MOB REALLY IS. New Harry Potter book sales hit 11 million

NEW YORK (AP) — Two months after its midnight release, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince has sold 11 million copies, U.S. publisher Scholastic, Inc., said Wednesday.
Half-Blood Prince, the sixth of seven planned books in J.K. Rowling's fantasy series, debuted in mid-July with an astonishing 6.9 million sales in its first 24 hours and has remained high on best seller lists. On Wednesday, it was No. 1 on Amazon.com.

The previous book in the seven-book series, Harry Potter and Order of the Phoenix, was published in 2003, selling 5 million books in its first 24 hours and more than 11 million in hardcover overall. Worldwide sales for the six Potter books top 250 million

*************************

I am sure you won't sell as many books as the latest copy of the Harry Potter book, but at least you have sold two copies of your book one to Don Culo and and another to Gava Joke.

If only the cholos would learn to read, you could sell more books.

Congrat's Wally! The end of a long journey and a task well done I'm sure.
But! it's not the time to rest on your laurels, it's time to "strike that iron while it's hot!" sell, sell, sell,!
Do let us Wallista's know your schedule of appearances on radio or TV. And if you have suggestions about what kind of questions you would like to have posed to you let us know that also, maybe we can get on the "questions from the listening audience" list and throw you some "softballs" that would allow you to hit a home run!
Hey! don't dismiss this as unprofessional or dishonest, now it's all about publicity and name recognition.
buena suerte!

The quote says .... "We know exactly the kind of families that produce criminals. I'd like to go in there and take them out. But we can't do that."

********************************************

Wally you are starting to sound like Jethro, Anony-Mouse and the log cabin republicans. We all know criminals and gangs are caused by the government and our society’s racism and lack of opportunities (but the mayates are lazy). The Mexican family is the hardest working and most loyal family unit around. You make it sound like the Mexican families have a tradition of choloism or pachucoism, although I am down for my varrio (SUR-X3 por vida). You make it sound like the Mexican family has a family tradition of choloism, we are proud of our Aztec heritage but are denied to teaching its rich history in our schools.

Why are gangs more prevalent in poor areas? Why do you think cities like Malibu, Santa Clarita or Irvine have no gangs? It is all about the money and racism, and nothing else! If I show up looking for a job with my shaved head and tattoos I am discriminated against and labeled a Cholo. Quit talking down to us or I am not buying your book!

The first book published on the subject? Quote from
http://www.encounterbooks.com/books/mexicanmafia/

“The first book ever published on the subject, Southern Soldiers is a pioneering work that unveils the operations of this California prison gang and describes how it grew from a small clique of inmates into a transnational criminal organization. As the first prison gang ever to project its power beyond prison walls, the Mexican Mafia controls virtually every Hispanic neighborhood in Southern California and is rapidly expanding its influence into the entire Southwest, across the East Coast, and even into Canada. Riding a wave of unchecked immigration and seemingly beyond the reach of law enforcement, the Mexican Mafia is poised to become the Cosa Nostra of twenty-first-century America”

Yeah a list of your radio interviews would be great.
Looking forward to the book.

And this is why we don't need illegal mexicans in this country, more than 1/2 of those arrested are illegal and the other half are mexicans who we can't deport.

*******************************

More Than 120 Gang Members Arrested In North Texas
(AP) DALLAS Federal agents and local police rounded up 121 members of street gangs during a series of coordinated raids in North Texas cities, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement announced Monday.

More than half of the arrests were for criminal charges. The others were taken into custody on administrative, or immigration, violations, said ICE spokesman Carl Rusnok.

They represented members of 27 gangs, including the Asian Boyz, Latin Kings, Eastside Locos, Northside Locos, Westside 12, 18th St., 28th St., Love Field Players, Mexican Mafia and MS-13.

Some of the gang members illegally in the country have already been returned to their home countries or are being processed for deportation. Others are being prosecuted for re-entering the United States following deportation, said John Chakwin Jr., special agent in charge of the Office of Investigations for ICE in Dallas.

Those arrested during the seven-day operation also included 45 U.S. citizens with pending charges, ICE said.

"Working in close partnership with federal and local law enforcement agencies, we removed from our communities many fugitive criminals and violent street gang members," Chakwin said.

Arrests were made through Sunday morning in Arlington, Irving, Fort Worth, Dallas, Gainesville and Wichita Falls with the help of police in each city. Farmers Branch police, the FBI, Federal Bureau of Prisons, Drug Enforcement Administration, U.S. Attorney's Office for the Northern District of Texas and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives also participated, ICE said.

The arrests came as part of Operation Community Shield, a national initiative targeting gangs. It was launched more than two years ago after federal officials identified the MS-13 gang, or Mara Salvatrucha, as one of the largest and most violent in the country. Federal officials found many of that gang's members were foreign-born, were in the country illegally or had criminal convictions. Some were involved in crimes the brought them under the scrutiny of ICE.

Those arrested under the operation are either removed from the country or prosecuted criminally, making the eligible for deportation if they are not U.S. citizens. To date, the federal initiative has yielded more than 4,500 members of 532 gangs, ICE said.

And, this is why we don't need Europeans in this country:

"Further, the process of transformation, even if it brings revolutionary change, is likely to be a long one, absent some catastrophic and catalyzing event––like a new Pearl Harbor"

"Wally you are starting to sound like Jethro, Anony-Mouse and the log cabin republicans. We all know criminals and gangs are caused by the government and our society’s racism "

They are.

In 1992 Crips and Bloods formed a merger after the riots. It was in fact the LAPD that didn't want the merger. At first, they tried to denounce it. After violence really did cease between the two gangs, the LAPD then sent propaganda to the local press insisting the merger was designed to form a militant group, to overthrow the united states government. That conclusion is a LONG WAY from a truce not existing, as they claimed just days beforehand, is it not?

"and lack of opportunities"

That's correct. More opportunities, less gangs. There's mountains of evidence to support this.

" (but the mayates are lazy)."

After building the entire Southern United States with their bare hands and not being paid a dime, they have every right to be.

" The Mexican family is the hardest working and most loyal family unit around."

I wasn't aware raising a family was a competitive sport, but whatever floats your boat.

" You make it sound like the Mexican families have a tradition of choloism or pachucoism, "

Mexican families indeed have a tradition of pride and machismo, as do Southern American Whites as well as North Eastern American Whites, specifically 20th to 21st century European immigrants; Italains, Irish, and later Russian, etc.

As far as them having a history of being pachucos and cholos, you can trace almost all gangs back to neighborhood defense organizations, designed, for the most part, to protect women and children from racist White cops. When you consider the LAPD's stunt to break up the Crip Blood truce of '92, it's pretty easy to figure out who broke up the Chicano East Side defensive organizations in the early 20th century.

"although I am down for my varrio (SUR-X3 por vida)."

Almost every ethnic race points to thuggish behavior in other races, while being ignorant of their own ties to their own thuggish culture.

" we are proud of our Aztec heritage but are denied to teaching its rich history in our schools."

Although there's lots of logical holes in the theories of Aztlan, it's worth being discovered and explored. It can't hurt. As far there being little to no evidence of it's existence, we teach kids about Jesus Christ, don't we?

"Why are gangs more prevalent in poor areas?"

Although sarcastic, your comment is correct. There are more gangs in poor areas. I don't think anyone with a brain needs to be told why.

" Why do you think cities like Malibu, Santa Clarita or Irvine have no gangs? "

Even if they do, they're not as violent as gangs in poorer areas. Trends of violence almost always break down to poverty, anywhere, and at any time in history.

" It is all about the money and racism, and nothing else!"

Sarcastic, I see, but not correct. If two parents raise their kid to be a cholo, their kid will likely be one. It's just that it's rare for this type of parenting to take place in a middle class or above family. It's usually the poor that raise their kids into such a life.

" If I show up looking for a job with my shaved head and tattoos I am discriminated against and labeled a Cholo. "

More and more major corporations are dropping their dress codes ,to help recruit from the newer generation of young adults, a generation that would seemingly rather not work and live with mom and dad then have to cut their hair. Pride and image isn't limited to street Chicanos, evidently. It's just that the system is adjusting itself to cater to young whites. Either way, in the new world a bald head and a couple of tats probably won't be a big deal if Lil Scrappy (Who now goes by Javier, the tag his mother gave him), gets himself a couple of nice suits.

" Quit talking down to us or I am not buying your book! "

If people from urban Chicano areas choose not to read Wally's book, it's probably because it's filled with a lot of preachy right wing stuff that they've already heard from Whites in the school administrations and police forces since they were kids. Gang members may respect the candor from a straight shooter like Wally, but make no mistake, Wally doesn't fool them as to who's side he's on.

I imagine the book will do well, based upon the standards the publisher is setting for it. But Wally's more of a cop writer than a street writer. And that factor will ultimately unveil Wally's long term readership.

Good day.

the issue in 1998 with Tio Pio, you are talking about the jacket the Grajeda's tried to put on him right. Supposedly, the word was the Grajeda's had information Tio Pio had testified or provided information to the auhorities. The paperwork was given to a "select" few carnales who decided to side with the Grajeda's.(China Boy Arias amongst a few)Word is Black Dan Barela got ahold of the information and squashed the issue, yet the riff still exists. Sooner or later when it is convenient, those that politicked against Tio Pio, will be dealt with. Yet as with all the BS amongst the Brothers there are many who have each others names on their hit list.

THIS IS WHAT REALLY TOOK PLACE, THE POLICE ARE JUST USING AN OLD CASES TO PROSECUTE AB. ITS ACTUALLY AN OLD CASE FROM WAY BACK. I BELIEVE BIG TRUKOS SON IS THE GUY VISITING OUR BLOG AS LIL TRUKOS.

By 1999, big trukos was in the Orange County Jail on a public intoxication charge. Leaders of the Chesters received notice of his arrival at the jail, according to testimony.

The gang tried to molest trukos at the jail, but he sucked up to his attacker good and was given a pass.

Big Trukos was sent to the federal prison at Leavenworth later that year.

Patrick Keohane, associate warden at Leavenworth at the time, testified Wednesday that he was one of the first to reach Big Trukos when the famous "Trukos Poke " first took place.

"I heard a very loud thud. And I looked around immediately, and I saw a fellow by the name of Trukos on the floor," Keohane testified. He thought the inmate was having a seizure, but when he ran to help him, he saw two convicts with big fingers.

"Large fingers. They were thrusting them into his body at the time," he said. "I was visibly watching when they would thrust these fingers, not only into his butt, but all the way through his body, it seemed. And it was actually hitting the top of his head."

Testimony is scheduled to continue today
