Last week a carload of alleged CPA homies rolled up on four alleged Haskell Streeters in broad daylight in the 20000 block of Sherman Way. Fists flew, a knife came out and one Haskell paid the ultimate price for living the life. The usually wrong media attributed the incident to rival tagging crews. Haskell apparently is moving West, and CPA is claiming more streets to the East. Result? You figure it out. Somebody ought to clamp a lid on this before it gets crazy.

It would seem to me that Mexicans would be keeping their labor and brains HOME so as to not give whitey another Peso of profit off their backs, cutting off the flow of resource stealing (in the form of cheap labor) so that Mexico can finally possess, direct and profit from the use of its own resources?!!!

The drug smuggling, the gang violence and the cat-and-mouse game between organized crime and the prison officers at the California Institution for Men is as old as the 66-year-old prison itself.
The only thing new is the Security Squad of the Investigative Services Unit.
It's an elite team of corrections officers, who ferret out drug smuggling and gang activity both inside and outside the prison.
Initiated in the aftermath of the slaying of an officer last year, the squad chips away at the organized crime that dominates life inside the Chino prison. In turn, it makes the prison safer for many of the inmates, correctional officers and civilians who work in the prison.
Members of the unit are also part of a multi-agency gang task force. They help local police agencies learn about the wide reach of prison-based gangs such as the Mexican Mafia and other statewide gangs.
"We have a lot of drugs here and that's what we're trying to curtail," said unit leader Lt. Tom Goetz. "It leads to extortion and violence."
They wear the same olive green uniforms of other correctional offices, but their insignia and patches are blackened to identify them as squad members. They strive for the element of surprise, but it's rarely with them, as the sighting of a squad member sets off a flurry of activity among inmates.
That's how it went this month when the squad charged a medium-security dorm where an inmate was found dead of an apparent heroin overdose. As the squad approached Angeles Hall, a dorm for inmate work crews, inmates rushed in from the yard to warn others that a bust was under way. Seconds later, the 10 squad members charged in.
The dorm erupted in shouting -- most it from the officers.
"Everybody down now! On the ground!" shouted officers armed with pepper spray.
Dozens of inmates wearing sweats and boxers dropped to the ground. No one resisted and the dorm was secured in a matter of seconds. The officers grabbed a handful of inmates with suspected links to heroin smuggling for strip searches. The rest were patted down and sent to the yard where they would spend the rest of the day waiting while the squad searched the dorm.
The goal is to figure out how the inmate died, explained Goetz. Was it a straightforward overdose, or was he given a "hot shot," a dose designed to kill?
"We don't know if this guy's been murdered," Goetz said. "We may go out there and find this guy's name on a note ordering his murder."
The officers hoped to find the rest of the heroin as well.
It took hours of pat downs, flipping mattresses, sifting through trash, books, clothes and shampoo bottles, but the squad found more than they had hoped for.
They found a note describing the overdose along with a detailed inventory of heroin, methamphetamine and marijuana to be smuggled into Palm Hall, the maximum-security area of the prison.
Moments later, another officer found a syringe in a hollowed-out copy of the religious book "Acts of Faith."
"Who knows? It might be the weapon we're looking for," said Sgt. Frank Esqueda.
As the search concluded, officers interrogated the suspects and found the heroin, which one inmate had stashed inside a body cavity. Another inmate was carrying a roll call -- dozens of inmate names on a tiny scrap of paper listing their prison number, home town, gang affiliation and monikers like "Lefty," "Misfit," "Evil" and "Casper."
"That was thoughtful of him," joked Lt. Michael Dimmit, the squad's gang investigator.
The prison gangs use the lists to keep track of their members. The gangs are very structured, and about 33 percent of all drug sales are given to gang leaders, he said. In the hands of law-enforcement, roll calls are great for identifying suspects in gang-related crimes, Dimmit said.
By monitoring phone calls, postings on MySpace.com, and with the help of informants, the squad has already busted five visitors trying to smuggle drugs into the prison. Though less than a year old, the squad is making a big difference inside and outside the prison, said Officer Randall Schiebe.
"We're lucky the warden is behind us all the way," said Schiebe, nicknamed K9 for his uncanny ability to find contraband. "It's like a game of cat-and-mouse, but I love it."

6 - One third of all US schools will be closed due to deportation of immigrant children. School Teachers and Employees employment will be terminated due to closure of these schools. Schools will be dominated by two classes, blacks and whites.
7 - White america will be divided by additional economical social classes. Deportation of all illegal immigrants will lead the US to divide the White and Black population into economical social classes. Lower class whites and Blacks will be segregated by their own race due to economical standards and levels of education.
8 - Whites and Blacks will be hired to pick and cut all farm owner's havest and crops. The wage will be a minimum of $10.00 an hour. This will lead to all crop product prices to be raised to 3 to 4 times the current prices.
9 - All construction employment will be taken over by Blacks and whites. Minimum wage will be set at $15.00 an hour. This will lead to homes and rental properties to be raised 5 times the current market price.
10 - The cost of living will be risen due to employers mandate to pay whites and blacks fixed wages. All retail and store products will raise 5 times the current price.

You're right on the money about Carmelas (CVL) being overrun by tecatos. It's been that way for decades now, and I suspect things aren't about to change anytime soon.
You're also right about the food at Marquez Restaurant (Rosecrans near Carmenita). Even though I was never, shall we say, "friendly" with the folks from Carmelas, I always managed to muster the courage to have breaskfast there once every few months(Chorizo con huevos for me!). It's amazing how the prospect of good pozole and warm tortillas can embolden a man to brave potential enemy hostilities. (-:

There are a number of dead and/ or seriously wounded youngsters from V.Norwalk who might tend to disagree with you on that.
Although Carmelas, like other South East Los varrios (such as Chivas/ Artesia) may be 'numerically-challenged' (in terms of how many active soldiers are in circulation at any given moment), they are, by no means, 'retired'.
In fact, I would argue that, in many cases, given the relatively 'small' size of these varrios (Carmelas, Chivas, etc), in comparison with their vastly numerically-superior, mortal enemies (V.Norwalk, Hawaiian Gardens, etc), their soldiers have evolved to become (in many cases)far more dangerous and "crazy" than those from larger varrios.
Ever heard the phrase "somos pocos pero locos"? I wouldn't hesitate to apply this phrase to both the folks from Carmelas and Chivas.
For those of you from East Los, another good example of this is might be the vatos from TMC (The Mob Crew) in Boyle Heights. (Because my wife used to live on the TMC side of Pico-Aliso projects, and I spent a lot of time there, I know somewhat of whence I speak)
TMC, although relatively small in size (compared with its mortal enemies, Cuatro Flats, Primera Flats, ELA X3, etc), had developed (over the years) quite a reputation for violence...precisely because of it's being geographically positioned in smack dead center of a literal war zone.
TMC was surrounded on every side by mortal enemies who liked to use them for target practice. So, for the vatos from TMC, just taking a 1/2 block walk to the store (on 4th & Gless, for instance)for a gallon of milk could prove a fatal mistake...everything is so damn close together!
Consequently, the youngsters from TMC had to evolve rather quickly into quite a deadly fighting force...just to survive. Again, I think "somos pocos pero locos" would apply to TMC as much as anyone else.
So....I would probably be a little cautious about sounding the death knell on Carmelas just yet. If you doubt this, perhaps a little experiment might be in order:
Take Rosecrans down...past Shoemaker....and two blocks before you hit Carmenita....look to your right for Marquez Restaurant (the street escapes me....could be Marilla, Pontlevoy or something else).
Turn right into the little, inactive, Carmelas varrio and just drive around for awhile. When you get to a corner...get out of your car and yell (at the top of your lungs) "Varrio Norwalk....One Ways Calles....Y QUE".....and just wait there for a few minutes.
When the Paramedics transport you to Norwalk Hospital or Kaiser Bellflower, drop me a line and let me know how it went down(was it an AK-47, a 22 automatic, or tecato with a baseball bat that took you down).
Of course it may be a little challenging to write (or speak)while your feeding tube is inserted, so maybe you can pre-arrange for the event to be videotaped and uploaded to Wally's site?

Did I ever glamourize the violence in East L.A.? I did quite the opposite. I used it as a point to argue that East L.A. is as plagued by gang violence and drugs today as South Central is.
And, I'd rather hear that more money is going to East L.A. for schools and jobs, something that will have to happen before East L.A. competes with other regions of the country for most homegrown doctors.
I will bet that whatever place in the country is producing the most doctors doesn't have the poverty, as low of a median working wage, and the overall lack of funding toward public schools that East L.A. has.

Hey "hot off the press, Chicano Daily News" I was juiri juiri with an old home boy from LA today, who now is in "Silver City NM" (beautiful spot) and he does some work as a "Coyote" along the NM Ariz border.

If the coast is clear they take the mojados to a safe spot to be picked up by the trukero and they get paid off "Big time".

Roach testified that while in federal prison in Marion, Ill., his duties for the Brotherhood included passing messages, attacking inmates who disrespected the gang and being the "designated driver." Because he didn't drink, he made sure gang members who drank homemade brew didn't hurt themselves.
Roach said failure to follow Brotherhood orders meant being put "in the hat" — slang for being targeted for a hit. In the Brotherhood's early years, Roach said, an intended victim's name was written on a piece of paper and placed in a hat among blank pieces; the brother who drew the name had to do the murder.
Roach testified that in 1996, after he and Mills were transferred to the federal "supermax" federal penitentiary in Florence, Colo., they plotted to expand the Brotherhood's racketeering operation to the streets. They hatched a plan, he said, to recruit inmates with five years or less left on their sentences and train them to commit crimes, so upon release they could send money to those still behind bars.
In 1998, Roach wrote a coded letter to a released gang member who seemed to be straying from the fold. Roach urged him to give up the construction business and follow his dream of becoming a restaurateur.
In reality, Roach testified, he was ordering the gang member to start cooking up methamphetamine for sale, or he would be killed.
The failure of freed gang members to meet their obligations to brothers still inside proved frustrating to Mills, Roach said.
"There was a discussion of forming up a squad to do away with guys like that," said the bull-necked Roach, who spoke in a raspy Boston accent.
He said the Brotherhood killed one gang member for engaging in openly homosexual activity, and killed another inmate for informing to authorities. Roach said gang member John Greschner once bragged to him of murdering, on Brotherhood orders, Richard "Rhino" Andreasen for snitching.
