SAM'S THE MAN.
I have to publicly credit Sam Quinones at the LA Times for single-handedly re-orienting my attitude about the paper. In the previous post, I expressed some concern regarding Jill Leovy's take on the significance of the racial component to the homicide rate. While I agree that the racial aspect isn't "driving" the homicides to a huge degree, her opinion leaves one wondering what's the bodycount threshold for starting to take the racial aspect seriously? Is ten percent not enough? At what point in the stats does race homicide become worthy of James Byrd or Matthew Shepard levels of public outrage?
In the Sunday edition, Quinones revisits Harbor Gateway, digs deep, and comes up with the real goods. Unlike a lot of what we see in print, it's clear Quinones didn't phone it in. Having been there and done that, I know you can spend a week working your jaw and knocking on doors to come up with one good quote. And he's got lots of them.
Clearly, the staff at the Times is not monolithic in perception and attitude and I can only assume, based on these dissimilar stories, that there's some healthy dialogue happening on Spring Street. All the for the better. Quinones, by the way, is the first reporter I can think of that makes an unequivocal connection between Eme policies and the race homicides. Read the story, download it and save it. This one is a seminal piece of reportage that, in light of the inevitable future events, will prove to be spot on the money.

White Bread sure likes to banter around the word culo. I can see him at home typing in the word and getting a hard on. Its his newly discovered joy word, much like an alcoholic repeating the word glass or pint.
The other thing to keep in mind that a latino reporter has an advantage over a white reporter in getting information from the latino's in the area. A reporter who can talk to a latino resident in spanish and has something in common with the person being interviewed will have an easier time getting a good interview. If you were to send a black reporter to interview the blacks in the Harbor gateway area he will also have that same advantage of getting black people to confide in him and tell him more of their real opinions.
But yes, Sam Quinones did do a good job on his story and appears to have talked to people living in the area and did his “gumshoe” work. I am also hoping to see his story in the TV news media.
I had also read Steve Lopez of LA Times story and he was not able to get anybody to talk to him, might have something to do with the fact that Steve Lopez looks like an old white guy.
Steve Lopez said…………
“I went off on my own after a while, trying to find gang members. Call me naive, but I wanted to see what they had to say about race relations, what sucked them into gang life, what might get them out and why they thought it was OK to cordon off sections of the city for their exclusive use. I had no luck in the end”

Don Culo; why you resorting to posting as anonymous. your writing gives you away
Wally: Thanks for the heads up on Sam's article on Harbor Gateway. That area around the Del Amo Market sounds more like Sadr City than LA.. I have to say though that you, as usual "scooped" Sam Quinones with your earlier post re.that area.. Also good to see that the EME connection is seeing the light of day rather than lurking in the shadows.. Thanks again..
Wally,
To me you've always seemed like a fair and balanced blogger. Hopefully that idiot liberal will now quit bashing you for not praising his beloved liberal LA Times in the past. Good blog on Quinones story...

I love the internet and Wally’s blog I learn about the gangs of Los Angeles and even a little Spanish slang along the way. Culo means ass or asshole, what a perfect word to describe you know who (Don Culo). I think I am also getting curiously aroused by that word. (lol)

“Mr. Gabacho, your anger seems to cloud your judgment. You defend a guy who says that he rides around in his car with a dime bag of weed, no license and insurance. But come down on a guy like DQ who has only stated facts that can help keep our youth away from the gang life that he has lived. Who has it backwards here?”
You tell me I am defending a guy who drives a car without insurance and smokes weed. Should we send a special gang task force to find and arrest him? But yet you defend a group of low lifes VBS gang bangers who kill young girls. Can you spell H-Y-P-O-C-R-I-T-E or L-O-C-O?

When are you and the LA Times going to talk about some real news on how a director, aka "Big Spider", of Communities In Schools just got his ass handed to him with a federal charge for transporting 2 pounds of meth? LAPD and other supporters of this organization is looking pretty stupid. This organization has been crooked and will remain crooked.
Wally,
Did you happen to catch last night's Nat'l Geo documentary on the Aryan Brotherhood? NGC always puts on a great documentary, no matter what the subject matter may be. Last night's documentary was especially good as it was the most in-depth account of prison gang defectors. The documentary even delved into what once may have been considered taboo by prison gangs; going after family members. I have to say though, the two featured AB drop-outs have my utmost respect for making such a dangerous, yet intelligent decision. Michael Thompson's change of heart was especially impressive as he sought to preserve his remaining humanity and self-respect by putting his life on the line for those he deemed to be innocent. Aside from Thompson, I've never heard of anyone else dropping out for reasons other than self-preservation. What say you Wally? Thanks...
I was reading the old posts and found this post by the cholo spokesman Don. Q. He says he was “taught and knew the movidas from the veteranos by the time we were 9 or 10 yrs old “
Don Q. said……………………
“I am an old timer that grew up in Lincon Heights in the 50's and 60's and knew all the vatos from clover, Aves, Happy Valley, Hazard, Dogtown etc; and we were taught and knew the movidas from the veteranos by the time we were 9 or 10 yrs old and the first thing we were taught is to man up and never ever accept any homosexual overture without immediate and violent retaliation. Maybe in the NorCal varrio this guy grew up in letting someone stick thier finger up your ass was ok but not where I came from. And the thought of someone giving head in YA and then later being accepted! pure fiction. I recall being in LA Juvie when I was ten years old and being questioned by the other vatitos "If you were taking a shit and some guy comes in with a knife and it's either give up some round eye or you die, what would you do? The right answer is "with shit flying out of your ass you get up swinging and die if you must but never give up no booty.”
So now I have finally figured out what Don Q has been repeating and lecturing us about.
Don Q joined a gang;
1) Because of all the police abuse and injustice he suffered at 9 years old.
2) Because of the drug abuse he suffered at 9 years old.
3) Because of the government neglect he suffered at 9 years old.
4) Because of cultural exploitation at 9 years old.
5) Because of the selective and punitive justice system he was subjected to at 9 years old.
6) Because of the ignorance and denial by a society of gangs he was subjected to at 9 years old.
And I am sure being in a gang had nothing to do with his father, uncles and veteranos teaching him the movidas at age 9. And also nothing to do with him having the gang name LiL Cyco at age 3.
I finally understand

I will defend Wally on this issue if you read this blog, Wally has posted about many previous convicts running Gang Intervention programs in Los Angeles and their not being enough over-site into these programs. I learned about shady characters like Hector “Weasel” Marroquin and the LA “broken” bridges gang prevention program from Wally. And I got the feeling Wally does not hold ex-convicted criminal gang members as the best role models for at risk youth.

What the city of LA should do is regularly look at the financial records of the former convicted criminals before giving them any money for these programs, but instead our ever stupid politicians want to check the financial records of LAPD gang officers instead.

White Bread
let me elaborate a little on thee above comments.i've known the "communities in school's" guys for many years,as a matter of fact they are responsible for my transformation from hoodlum to a tax paying father of 2.4 year's ago i walked into the "communities in school's" offices in north hills.i was reffered to them by a probation officer who said they(cis)was the only hope i had.it take's a special person to do what they do.yes, they deal with the lowest of the low, they were nothing themselves to began with.what better way to give back to society, who want's to deal with gangmembers?who wants to make home visits in the most ghetto neighborhoods where apartment's are infested with roach's and thee odor of piss and dirty cloth's fill's your nasal passages?who want's to deal with families of murdered homies on a regular basis.imagine that, how about telling your wife and kid's that you have to work in the middle of the night cause you want to make sure that the homies are o.k and maybe need a ride home cause his poor mother is worried sick.i read thee article on "big spider" and i thought it was very unfair to those hard working guy's at "cis".first of all "spider"was not one of the guy's who lecture's kid's on the danger's of being in a gang.dont confuse him with the street worker's that work for "blinky".it's true ,he was employed at thee office's of "communities in school's",he was not a "gang intervention worker"or "prevention worker". he helped kid's get job's,that's it.he did'nt work the street ,don't get it confused.it is what it is and the "hard core gang intervention"staff at "communities in school's need to be applauded for they're hard work in the community.
One idiot will not bring down the fort.I congratulate "Blinky's" boy's!They've done too much and have a good track record. Why do we always talk about the bad, there's plenty good comming out of communities in school's!.....Teacher at Monroe High School.
I doubt you're a teacher. At Monroe or anywhere. The "boy's" in Blinky's boys should not have an apostrophe because it's not possessive, it's plural. Next, you have two sentence fragments spliced into a single sentence. The way it should read is, "Why do we always talk about the bad?" Then you should follow that by your next complete thought. But your next sentence is a mess of misspellings. The word "coming" has only one "m" not two. And "communities in school's" has three errors. All proper names should begin with a capitalized letter -- Communities in Schools. And you use the possessive of schools instead of the plural. Teacher? If you are, the schools in L.A. are hopeless.
Thank you oh thank you red dog.. Pick those nits, pick those nits, Rah! Rah! Rah! GJ
Why does the City contract and hire ex-felons to work with kids?
I dont want my children anywhere near a man named Spider or Blinky. We should hire role models such as firemen, police officers, or doctors to do mentouring. Im sure there are plen
ty of professionals that would be glad to donate time to such a cause.
Does anyone have of any statistics to show how many youths have been detoured from gang life by an ex-felon low life gangster running his pie hole about leaving a gang.
Maybe the so called teacher can provide them for us.
How about Ms Rice? I see she is running her mouth again in the paper.
The best way to adddress gang activity is to support police, not these gangster drop-outs that have found a way to make a buck.

L.A. Bridges = Project get Going?
You be the judge.
Wally great post, and if you remember back a while Sam “the man” Quinones himself posted on “In The Hat” asking for info on the “Carnals”. There was an immediate shout out to him by your regulars “Hey Quinones! Get your ass out on the street and do your own job!”
It seems he took that advice and has produced a classic reporting piece on the Harbor Gateway situation, which not only deals with that neighborhood but also can be used as an example of what has and is happening in many neighborhoods.
The murders and crime and gangs and racial killings were almost predestined and the whole sad situation could be used as a primer for anyone interested in what not to do in an “urban planning” scenario.
Take an old solid neighborhood of working class people, single family homes ,unfettered “lais sez faire” profit at any cost, building of shitty ass Apts. Solely designed for jamming the most people in and maximizing profit from rents. Ugly stucco boxes with minimal and cheap accoutrements, couple of bushes for landscaping, fucked up underground parking for one car (dozens of others parked all over and up and down the street in front of everyone else’s house), Trash bins overflowing with trash all the time cause of too many people, and the cheap ass landlords not wanting to spend on more frequent trash pick up, no play area for kids or an area for the people to gather,
So the kids are all over the fucking street, getting hit by cars, hanging out with gangsters, getting into pedo of one sort or another.
After a couple of years these apts start to fall apart in every way possible and minimal upkeep is ignored to maximize profit to the owners who are typically groups of investors (like doctors or lawyers, or politicians) who own many of these shitholes and these investors don’t even want to know from problems or where what or when, they want to see profit period.
I know being in the construction business for many years and watching this same scenario take place that sooner or later the investors pull out due to demands by city or county inspectors to make repairs or replace roofs, stairways, plumbing, major investments.
Then they sell out quick and cheap and some other slumlord buys them out and usually has the “hook up” downtown. The slumlord then requests and gets Gov’t feria to get the shithole apt up to living standards and turns it over to the Section 8 welfare mafia who guarantee’s the slumlord Federal rent money and any other lana needed to maintain the stucco shitholes. Beautiful situation for those In the know!
The Gov’t welfare bureaucracy people who run the show in section 8 housing, (and usually despise their clients, and who only give a shit about their careers, kickups, retirement package, new SUV to get them to the chante in the burbs) could give a rat’s ass about investigating a potential danger to their clients by placing them, for example, in a stone Chicano traditional gang controlled area where blacks, and especially if they have kids who are Crips or Bloods, are going to be targets.
Law Enforcement for the most part considers all these people “subhuman” anyway and they usually don’t give a shit whether they kill themselves or not. And besides LE is undermanned and can’t be everywhere for all people.
(A few years back the shithole apt on No Fig and., near my house, had a gun battle going on for 5 solid hours between some HLP homies that lived there and the Aves who would drive by in cars shooting into the apts, HLP shooting back. I called Northeast Police and complained that some innocent person was going to get hurt. The cop replays to me that they had no cars available to investigate, as there were seven reported shootings they were involved in at the time. I asked when they could investigate as it had been going on for hours, they cop tells me “could you go down to the apts and find out which apt number the shooting is coming from?” Fuck that shit, I just hung up and the shit went on for hours more.)
These shithole apts have ruined more neighborhoods than all the gangs put together but I guess it’s the old “money talks, fuck those people, profit at all cost” philosophy that prevails.
This scenario plays right into the hands of the other power players, “The Big Homies” cause these apts almost always are drug dealing centers and when Mayates move in it gives the Mero’s an opportunity to get the troops mobilized around a common cause, consolidate and maintain power and control. Beautiful situation for ambitious groups like the Carnals
Again, this problem of gangs and crime is very complicated and if not addressed in an intelligent and united effort it will continue to grow unabated.
Great job by Sam Quinones who deserves a Pulitzer Prize but he might want to be a little careful cause you know who’s being mentioned is watching.

Funny this anononymph, mr. multiple personalities, seems so fascinated with me dq.
I feel kind of of well, special, like a celebrity being stalked by a joto admirer, the vato loves the word "Culo" and refers to me as "Don Camote" (Chicano John Holmes) and now he is perusing my prior posts and comes up with my reply to the story the Norteno told us about the mandatory "finger wave" they give there rookies.
Hmmmm of all the posts he comes up with, "the Bulldog, finger in the fundillo story."
I feel honored with the attention but reminded of the old story about
"Milton Berle" who got tired of watching "George Burns" smoking cheap cigars. Uncle Miltie gives George Burns a $100.00 Cuban Puro and tells him what it's worth.
George Burns looks at the cigar, rolls it around in his fingers and replys "$100.00 for a cigar? Shit I don't know whether to smoke it or fuck it!"
As the great Chicano philosopher "George Lopez" says
"Que Puto!"

a white boy can do do all the research in the world and even obtain a licence to operate in the mean street's,as can a mexicano but if if you did'nt live the life style then too bad, no fucken gangmember will ever respect you much less hear you out.that's the truth ,whether you like it or not ,ex gangmember's are thee only people that can do this kind of work."Blinky" was never in a gang, that's a nickname given to him by his mother when he was a little baby."Blinly Rodriguez" has a damn good track record working with gangmember's and his staff has changed many life's .do the research.
Can anyone please cut and paste the Times article? It requires registration if you are looking for it online. Thank you. -JOSE619
No one calls you Don Camote anymore, i think the agreed upon moniker for you is Don Culote. And I brought it upon you because of all your hypocrisy. I started it and now everyone from San Diego to Redding, and even gente from Los are taking shots at you. I did it because you took a simple story and tried to use it to smear the entire North, all the while claiming to be against gangs. Your a gangbanger working propganda and still trying to bang via the internet, and losing.
you can't have your cake and eat it too...that means you can't be against gangs and then disrespect other raza because they aren't from Los...it also means you can't claim to have Avenue Hitters willing to put in work for you (as you mentioned in a previous post, then be a cop caller when they get into some shit...you figure that one out, its part of regals you learned at age 9 ...
your best bet is to let all the attacks pass, and they will, then return to the blog with your on straight and sure of who you are...benevolet patriach of lincoln park or veterano recruiter of young gangsters
DQ,
As far as those shitholes falling apart in every way imagineable and the landlords ignoring even minimal upkeep in order to see a profit,,,,,,,,,,
why you think thery are falling apart vato? I've been renting a house for 6 years and it looks better than the other houses on the block. You know why vato, because I take pride in where I live, EVEN IF I DON'T OWN IT.
Orale vato, I've done work for my landlord at some of his other pads because the ese's who live there tear the shit up. Yet they've got a nice, washed and waxed troka in the driveway. The bottom line is, if they don't own it they don't give a fuck and tear it up. As far as the profit goes, what would you do if you rented a place but made no profit cause the ese's who lived there kept tearing it up and you lost money due to continual repairs?
They can't have it both ways vato,
if they want a decent place to live in, that's on them.
Don't expect me to pick up the crying towel for fucking lames who don't take care of the pad they live in, just because they don't own it. They have to live there, they should keep it nice.
Funny how when I did a little time in county most vato's cells were very neat, and being sloppy and not keeping it clean could catch you a beat down or worse from your southside celly. Fuck it eh, they didn't own that cell, but they kept it clean and took care of it cause they lived there and knew the juras wouldn't clean it or repair it for them.
How come they can't keep the pad they live in on the streets neat and clean?

Let me give you a typical example of what I am talking about using myself as an example, trying not to appear as bragging or talking shit as it's not something to be proud of, but only to enhance the knowledge of how this "abnormal social system" came about. And I shared this upbringing with many who are now using this background to gain and consolidate even more power.
Lincloln Hts 1955, 10 years old, oldest of 7, Father and Mother 26 years old, 2 bedroom shack,no screens broken windows, open hole in the ground in the back used as a cesspool, old clothes, old shoes,no breakfast, no lunch, no money, no oversight, constant daily humiliations due to poverty and a Darwinian upbringing of survival.
Education mainly consists of elementary school and street education, stealing, scamming, shinning shoes, selling newspapers on the street, begging, salvaging food, rolling drunks,.
10 yrs old and a typical saturday. Get up early check out the neighborhood cloths lines for clothes that fit, steal em, then go to the bushes on the hill and chose which one of the 5 or 10 stolen bikes stashed to use that day, ride to 5 points, go into the Thrifty Drug Store lunch counter, sit where someone left most of the plate of food, eat it, ask for water, when the waitress turns, steal the tips. Go to the bank of phone booths, stuff paper napkins into coin slots,(at the end of the day always a few dimes stuck). Check out the store manager, if he's gone, steal starting at the cash register, you and homeboys go out front, someone pretend to steal change from the retarded newsmans cigar box, when he gives chase someone steal his cigar box and run.
12 or 13 yrs. ganged up already, been in Juvie 3 or 4 times and don't give a fuck, looking for respect from the camaradas and especially the veteranos who share wine, mota, and sometimes even a cotton if someone has a homemade outfit, already a veteran of a thousand street fights that we look forward to. All packing fileros and looking for a chance to use em. Stealing cars, hitting the coin machines, doing street robberies, a thousand hustles being learned and used.
Going to parties in other varrios looking for chingaso's. Best is when we are outnumbered, and still make a stand, getting rat packed and fucked up,sometimes someone is stabbed or kicked senseless, "Kiko got his ear chopped off with a hatchet that Tweedy from Aves hit him with", "Chief hit Magoo from Hazard with a brick and knocked him out cold, then he cut his eyebrows off with a razor, He's a bad motherfucker!", "Did you hear? they found Mando from Diamond dead over on Solano St. hanging over a fence, the vato's from Dogtown did it.
After years of this "education" the cream would rise to the surface and these vatos who had been schooled in the streets, since little kids, and already veterans of countless fights, crimes, scams, dealing, jails, jura's, were carefully observed and as an Alpha Male Wolf takes control of his pack naturally so to do certain Carnals attain thier status and this is based on not just a cold demeanor, willingness to kill coldly without emotion, but intelligence and being skilled in spotting human frailty's, emotional or physical weakness, confusion, or lack of ferociousness in an opponent.
Hopefully some insight from yours trully.
WOW, Don, I just read all that and still don't see what your point is.
The big difference with back then and now is fools get blasted and die. Not some pinche eyebrow being cut off and brick to the head.
fuck all that product of my environment and bad parenting shit.
It takes real balls to try and end the cycle of gang life. Anyone can blame it on the parents or the varrio sucking them in and they have no other options.
Puro pedo! This is america, ese. You have choices everyday. The real hard core men with the big huevos are the ones to try to make it out of the varrio life and provide for themselves and their familia. Graduating College is alot tougher than slanging chiva on the calles.

What the hell is this guy talking about?
Some people should just read these blogs and not add to them. The above smart guy states, "A white boy can do all the research." Then he lost me with the rest.
You can tell when a person has no piont, he goes to the race card. I can't spell but check out the crap he authored.
Then he goes on about the best person to do gang intervention work is a gang member. Next sentance, he talks about how great Blinky's track record is. But he was never a gang member. You lost me. Please, just be a blog reader not a point maker because were all confused.
Someone above made a good point. SHOW SOME STATISTICS OF AT RISK YOUTHS LEAVING A GANG BECAUSE A FELON TOLD THEM TO DO SO.
How about Big Spider. Is he a good example of a changed man. Some people change their life style. Thats not the debate. All of them don't. But we want to believe that just because they have found God, they are changed. Think about it, what do all Lifer's say in prison (I found God). Most of them find God when it will get their ass out of a ringer or make them a little money.
Hey GJ. I wasn't picking nits. I was exposing an obvious faker. Notice I didn't correct anybody else's spellings or grammar. That's because they don't claim to be teachers. From a teacher, I, and you, should expect 6th Grade grammar at the very least.

What is the hell is going on, Don Q. saying the LAPD is undermanned. Could it be he actually wants more cops on the streets of L.A. Don Q. actually called the LAPD and expected some help from the most notorious gang who wears blue? I am surprised Don Q. did not go out to the gang shooting and tell the gang members “I know you are just poor misunderstood and exploited kids, can’t we all just get along”. I also see Don “Culo” has pissed-off many people, but I am sure he still thinks it is the one “Mexican Spokesman”, he had a difficult time understanding that there is more than one white/anglo here in Wally’s world.
Moving on to a serious note about the lousy apartment buildings comment in the Los Angeles area, If you drive from downtown L.A. north along 3rd street or 7th street for a few miles you see mostly crappy apartment buildings until you reach the Larchmont area. While I definitely agree no kid should have to live in area with no parks and no wide open spaces, anybody living around downtown L.A. is not going to find much open free spaces or parks or recreational facilities. But some people like those who live in New York City proper have accepted this lifestyle. I have friends who live on Lafayette Street and 3rd street and they only walk along Lafayette Street because it is “safe”.
The other thing you will notice about the Downtown L.A. area is that the whites living in and around downtown Los Angeles are almost always single or a married couple with no kids. Any big city always crams too many damn people into a small area by building big apartment buildings. If you could pass a law wherein only people with NO kids could move into high density areas such as Downtown L.A. you could avoid many problems of gangs and crime. But I doubt you could ever do such a thing.
There have been a few cities which have passed laws which mandate the builder of large condo and housing projects to set aside a few units to be sold or rented at a lower rate. This way you have “affordable” housing within other “regular” housing. This has been used in lower density areas but not sure how you implement this in area like downtown L.A. And the other problem is that any single family home or low density housing around downtown L.A. is always torn down and replaced by an apartment building. Right now Orsini is building two new large apartment buildings around downtown L.A. to help make the traffic worse around downtown.
I hope I have used proper possessives and plurals and no sentence fragments, because I don’t want Red Dog to correct my grammar. To “Red Dog” I am not a teacher but have been told that I am fed, cop, black, cop lover, Mexican hater, xenophobe, right wing radical, racist, and ........
White Bread
I worked for Parisian Bakery Co. in Santa Cruz for awhile. We baked a pretty fair Fisherman's Wharf Round french loaf. Good sourdough. We also baked, for mass consumption a "wonder type" loaf that started out as a small lump of starch and after it went in the "proof" room to rise it became a large loaf of basically hot air. That was our version of White Bread. Wally's blog has it's own, just as tiresome and completely devoid of substance and nutrition..
I'm not sure where he copped this hardon for Don Q, but everybody can see it's looking downright GAY!Lighten up, maricon!
Cervantes' Don Quixote has brought more meat to this table than you have with your monotonous, repetitive, and frankly boring snipes.. We've seen you before. Nobody here needs the reruns..Peace out, dipshit..
To Wally,
You used to tell us how the L.A. times did not cover gang news or racial motivated shootings but lately it seems they are giving a lot of coverage to all these topics. I’m not sure if it is because Mayor V., Chief Bratton, and Rocky D. are all trying to make gangs high priority and profile.
Here is some gang news covered in just the last day. And the LA times did not cover the latest Britney Spears news.
Ice cream purchase leads to alleged gang-member arrest
By Patrick McGreevy, Times Staff Writer

Los Angeles has spent $100 million over the last decade on a gang-prevention program, even though it doesn't track how many youths it keeps out of gangs and has been repeatedly criticized for not adequately coordinating with schools and police.

I am curious why so many of the ex-jail birds make reference to people being gay. Is it a hold over from the days they were a bitch in the CDC. Or is that attacking somebody’s machismo is the best they can come up with. Yo que saber porque siempre regresar a hablar de los maricones. Tal ves extraña a sus novios de la pinta.
Al rato maricones
LA Times seems to be pretty late on posting juicy breaking news. Not until they find out from some other new source, they decide to print an article. Then they cry about how no one reads their Newspaper.

I'm not sure where he copped this hardon for Don Q, but everybody can see it's looking downright GAY! Lighten up, maricon!
Gava Joe the way you defend Don Q. people might start thinking you have a thing for the old fool.
Que lindo que Gava defiende a su pareja La Doña Culo.
Muchos maricones aquí
Maybe this can help that confused vato. LA Daily News, Connie Rice states,
"I think this was a case of somebody living a double life," said Rice, who called Communities in Schools one of the best such programs in L.A. And though Corona was not an intervention worker, she said many of the programs need former gang members.
"If you are talking about hard-core gang intervention or managing gang conflict in prison, you don't have any choices," she said. "The social system and gang culture require credibility. The only one who is going to have credibility to speak to gang members and shot-callers are people that have been in that life."
I think that the homie was trying to convey something along those lines. I actually agree with what she says this time.
I once saw a lady with a Doctorate in Criminal Psychology try to take control of a small group of young cagapalos. It was one of the funniest things that I have ever seen. Those pinche mocosos broke the lady down and had her stomping out of there with tears in her eyes. She came back a short time later to find us in full control, with the mocosos all participating in a group excercise.
So does street credibility matter? I bet that this Dr. believes that it does.
Despensa WF, but I think that you are taking DQs post out of context. Stick around and you will see that the vatos views are not much different from yours. Con respeto.

Does anyone here know what neighborhood Mario Corona was really from???? I heard he was a "HOOD HOoPER".
I Heard that Blinky is a "HOOD HOOPER" too.
Hey I think anononymph is pulling his covers a little,he posts to me
"you told the story of the finger in the culo and disrespected the whole norte", wha! wha! wha!
hmmm could it be our old multi poster "retired joker" who answers his own posts over and over? parece el gran puto de norte.
I really feel special now!
He loves me, he loves me not, he loves me, he loves me not.
Get over your obsession "Mr. Mandilon sin huevos"
fuck, anyone that would post up claiming he was giving head in CYA and then forgiven by his homies!
Come on keep calling me Don Camote like you used to! Don't be shy
A lo que truje, Chencha!
Oye SV VBS, no te preocupe this Mandilon posted up that old blog of mine out of context and included his own phony ass moniker that he posted up back then. There never was a "veterano from white fence" it was this same norteno probably "retired joker" who claims that vatos from the south forgave some guy in YTS who was knob bobbing other homies.
I called him out then and he's still asco about it.
puro pedo de mocoso

[snip...]"It takes real balls to try and end the cycle of gang life. Anyone can blame it on the parents or the varrio sucking them in and they have no other options.
Puro pedo! This is america, ese. You have choices everyday. The real hard core men with the big huevos are the ones to try to make it out of the varrio life and provide for themselves and their familia. Graduating College is alot tougher than slanging chiva on the calles."
Con Respecto,

WFV, you are so right. My dad is living proof of what you're saying. He grew up in horrible poverty in 1940s Illinois, never enough food, father died, 6 kids sleeping in one bed, rats chewing their way up through holes in the floors.
So at age 10, he got a job as a caddy, spending sometimes 2-4 hours a day hitchhiking to get to work at the golf course. He kept this job for years and helped support his family. He stayed in school. He went on to have a long and successful career as a teacher and a school principal, with a master's in education. I could not be more proud of him.
It's all about those choices...

THAT FINGER WAVE WAS ABOUT THE BULLDOGS.YOU SCRAPPAS JUST TURNED IT INTO A NORTENO THING.
Orale DQ, The Bulldog finger wave, HA HA. I bet that the pinche farmeros look forward to that moment so that they can truly FEEL a part of their kliqua, que locos.
Hey Red, I just found out that in the Feds. you vatos get to ride in the car. The NFs are still fucked but you regular vatos are allowed to kick it. It's just one big Califas car that keeps getting bigger.

I tip my hat off to your father, needless to say you we're very lucky to have such a proud man as your father. Everyone should be so lucky.
I dont know much about politics, but I think they are doing this for an excuse to raid neighborhoods make the neighborhoods weak tear down the old houses and make a mini mall or something over them.Lately big buisnesses have found out these areas are worth more than they look and are taking advantege. Thats what I think. Alraton.
Gangs are like weeds. You cant kill them by snipping off the peddles. You got to destroy them at the root.Putting foos in jail hasnt worked for generations they need to come up with a new gameplan.
