OKAY SO WHAT IS IT?
Tarso Luis Ramos, Director of Research of a group called Political Research Associates has recently taken me to task at newamericamedia.org for using the term "ethnic cleansing" to describe the scores of racially motivated attacks against Blacks committed by Hispanic gang members.

The gist of Mr. Ramos' critique is that my analysis of the situation is colored by my "apparent right wing leanings." His evidence of my political orientation is that some things I've written have appeared in "rightwing culture warrior David Horowitz’s Web magazine Frontpagemag" and that my publisher also published Victor David Hanson's "Mexifornia."

Ramos calls me "the most persistent purveyor of the ethnic cleansing frame." Maybe it's because I was the first to notice. The simple truth of the matter is, I didn't go looking for that particular story. When I started doing research some ten years ago, I had no idea such a thing existed. I first started hearing about it from my interviews with active and retired gangsters and from street cops. I clearly remember back in 1999, a cop told me that in his reporting district, black citizens (not gangsters) were safe on one side of the street but put their lives at risk if they crossed over. And when I heard the same thing from other sources in other parts of the county, it was clear that a pattern existed.

And as explained to me by people in the neighborhoods, they didn't want their V(B)arrio (take your pick) to "turn into Watts." When asked what they meant by that, I leave to your imagination what they said. It would make a Klansman proud.

Then I collected about a dozen court cases documenting racially motivated violence and murder and I shotgunned a bunch of query letters and phone calls to the usual media. At the time, even I wasn't calling it ethnic cleansing or a race war. To me, it was just a new development on an old problem.

Regular readers already know the response I got. Some flat out refused to accept that this was happening. Some were afraid that running the piece would stoke a race war. Or I had an agenda. Or I was trying to make Mexicans look bad. From Los Angeles Magazine, LACityBeat, LA Weekly, the Daily News, OC Register, NY Times Magazine, Atlantic Monthly - you name it - there were lots of excuses not to run with the story.

During that slog to get the facts out, I called the NAACP, Rainbow Push and other Black civil rights groups repeatedly. I asked for comments on the phenomenon. They told me, "Someone will get back to you." No one ever did. The only Black group to respond was Islamic Hope. And they, meaning Najee Ali, were already aware of the situation. And Ali minced no words in telling me why the "established" Black groups had plugged their ears and covered their eyes to the realities on the street. He was running into the same stone wall with them and the media. Clearly I wasn't alone.

There was another group that ran into a media and "activist" stone wall -- the families of the victims. Nobody wanted to touch it because when it came to choosing between ideology and speaking out for those who can no longer speak, ideology won out in this case. Unlike the ideologically blinded, the families had no illusions about the nature of the forces that took away their loved ones. Perhaps Mr. Ramos would like to speak to them directly.

It was the survivors and the attitudes of people on the street that finally got me to thinking of the situation in terms of ethnic cleansing. What was the point of the attacks and homicides? In the words of one perp, it was to "keep them from infesting the neighborhood." Whether the words come out of a Latino, a white guy with a hood, a Hutu, a Tutsi or a Bosnian, it is the language of intolerance. So excuse me for pointing that out.

Does it rise to the level of ethnic cleansing? Certainly it's not on the same scale as Bosnia. Or Darfur. I came to the conclusion, however, that in terms of INTENT, there's no difference between killing one guy or a thousand. After all, what's the threshold? Is ten dead guys enough to qualify? A hundred? The intent is to intimidate, frighten and drive off anyone else thinking of living where they choose to live or drive where they want (Wilson) or carry a boom box (Bowser) or rent an apartment (Prudhomme). Because the perps didn't succeed to the extent they desired does not lessen their intent to drive innocent people out of the hood. So what do you call it?

The question Mr. Ramos raises in his piece is "Who Gains From Framing Gang Attacks in LA as "'Ethnic Cleansing'"? Bluntly speaking, the question itself is obscene. I never once framed the issue in terms of immigration or a battle between conservative or liberal politics. I never articulated the issue as anything other than what it was.

And "gain?" What is that? As if the murder of innocents is some kind of political chess match? I don't even know that math.

It's hard to figure out if Mr. Ramos is in favor of suppressing news or just making sure to spin it in a way that doesn't give anyone some kind of "gain." He quotes Sheilagh Polk, the media relations manager at the Community Coalition that the media, “have played a significant role in escalating gang violence.”“When you have Fox news broadcasting about racial violence inside prisons, that creates pressure outside to retaliate.” I've heard a lot of reasons for escalating violence but news stories about it have never been at the top of the list. Or anywhere on it. If media coverage is a causal component of violence, then does non-coverage lead to peace? Based on her premise, let's stop reporting gang violence altogether so gangs won't feel the need to retaliate. Ignore them and maybe they'll go away.

Mr. Ramos also quotes Aqeela Sherrills, a gang expert. Sherrills believes that the Mexican Mafia is run by businessmen who find "no advantage in a generalized conflict with African Americans." Which is why the two groups get along so well in prison. But at least he got the businessmen part right. His comment underscores a certain naivete about the nature of that business and the dictum that "In chaos, there is profit." And a destabilized competitor is a weak competitor.

I could spend the rest of the day going through Mr. Ramos' assertions and conclusions. But it's tiresome.

The bottom line is that we've got serious social issues to handle and we're not getting anywhere by worrying about what part of the political spectrum is gaining or losing ground. Call me a liar, call me a Troglodyte, tell me I'm full of crap, an alarmist, sensationalist or a right wing whack job. It won't stop what's happening on street. Over to you Tarso.

Couple of other subjects I'd like to address while at the computadora.
First of all I get a kick out of the "knuckle head smith" cop apologist who thinks that nothing happened to the LAPD after their meltdown at MacArthur Park.
Uh I hate to have to tell you but since the LAPD went ballistic and attacked the people, who had the pro immigration rally, and the press corps who televised and reported the mugging around the world, some drastic changes have been occuring.
Politics is a curious science and usually policy changes are completed in a slower and more behind the scene's manner, but drastic changes have occured in both LAPD leadership, and in policy and training techniques.

Despite all the hand wringing and whinning about Chief Bratton selling out the rank and file and the screaming about his contract being renewed, Bratton was rehired for another five years. Before he was given the nod though, he was grilled and given a warning by the real "powers that be" about any further embarrasing incidents taking place even slightly resembling the MacArthur Park police riot.
And also, it wasn't just a couple of cops who got reasigned it was a couple of "Commanders" (throwbacks to the Chief Parker, Gates era) who essentially got the ax. One has "retired" and the other, if still on the force is singing like a Vienna Choirboy now cause his nuts were cut off.
These neanderthals were replaced by Commander Diaz who has stated that the old military style training and attitudes are a thing of the past and a more enlightened community oriented LAPD will evolve very soon.
Also the investigation is not over, the FBI are still involved and there very well could be some Metro Squad goons who are indicted on Federal Civil Rights violations.
And of course there are numerous law suits that undoubtedly will cost us taxpayers millions.

I would think that after all the fallout, bad publicity and embarrasment the City of LA has endured due to the cop riot in MacArthur Park, we will not soon see the goon squad attacking innocent people as in the past.

Times are changing, the old LAPD whose "Like Aryan People Demand", protecting the white community's from the "colored heathen's" policy's are I would think, going, going, gone.
We now have a Hispanic Mayor, many city councilmen of color, COunty Supervisors, District Attorney (if he keeps his insurance up and his wife on a short leash) and up and coming modern LAPD officers who are Latino's so yea I think the MacArthur Park Metro Squad meltdown was an abberation that was squashed and won't be seen again, cause all these career cops know that the powers that be and the people won't stand for that kind of shit anymore.
Don't forget that LA is now one of the world's great international centers, with the money and power from all over the world setting up shop here, this is not going to be allowed to get sidetracked by a reputation and black eye for storm trooper like brutality on it's citizens.
Villaraigosa will be launched into national politics along with Chief Bratton who is rumored to be a contender for the US "Top Cop" or other national office by his Democratic Party cohorts.
These guys and thier backers will not allow some goon squad tactics to fuck up thier national political aspirations, no way.

No ANonymouse cop apologist, if you think there was no fallout or punitive actions on the LAPD by the powers that be you better take your blinders off.

SV VBS - I was just breaking your bolitas on the Vineland trash talk. I put too much sauce on the tacos just to get a reaction from you
:)
To let you know the undergrounds were already in full swing, but it was all almost exclusively white and wealthy W.Hollywood people (with only like 5 mexicans who provided the lighting and sound systems in the areas of downtown & the City of Vernon). The Mayor & son in Vernon are no joke - Now that is one mafia style family that calls real political shots. Nothing goes down or cracks in his city without the family's blessing.
But at least Vernon Pd doesn't have all the crooked problems and sorry ass reputation that Maywood and South Gate PD are historically known for.
The Zetas and Lil Zetitas are so old, my grandma was thier original Commanding Lead Officer - they called her 10-Zebra Chingona - Over and Out (maybe in and out?).

Thieves Steal Herman Munster's Identity
Jun 20,
The Associated Press

WASHINGTON -- Did Internet thieves steal Herman Munster's MasterCard number?

Crooks in an underground chat room for selling stolen credit card numbers and personal consumer information offered pilfered data purportedly about Herman Munster, the 1960s Frankenstein-like character from "The Munsters" TV sitcom.

The thieves apparently didn't realize Munster was a fictional TV character and dutifully offered to sell Munster's personal details — accurately listing his home address from the television series as 1313 Mocking Bird Lane — and what appeared to be his MasterCard number. Munster's birth date was listed as Aug. 15, 1964, suspiciously close to the TV series' original air date in September 1964.

CardCops Inc., the Malibu, Calif., Internet security company that quietly recorded details of the illicit but wayward transaction, surmised that a Munsters fan knowledgeable about the show deliberately provided the bogus data.

"The identity thief thought it was good data," said Dan Clements, the company's president.

Clements said evidence indicates the thief, known online as "Supra," was operating overseas. "They really stumble over our culture. He's probably not watching any reruns of `The Munsters' on TV Land."

Herman Munster was portrayed by Fred Gwynne, who died in July 1993.

"Phishing" thieves often trick consumers into revealing financial secrets by sending e-mail requests that appear to originate from banks. A consumer's financial details can be worth $4 and $40 among online thieves, who can use the information to open fraudulent credit accounts.

CardCops eavesdrops on conversations among thieves in underground Internet chat rooms to monitor for stolen credit card numbers being sold or traded. It offers monitoring services to alert consumers whose information is compromised by hackers.

I KNOW GOMEZ ADAMS WAS LOADED!!!!ANYONE HAVE HIS INFO?

ANYONE HAVE THURSTON HOWELL THE THIRDS INFO?

So did Herman Munster have good credit? Did anyone issue him any?

Did any bank issue a card to Herman???? If so I would like to know what bank,

Actually, the thieves thought they were getting John Kerrys ID, not Herman Munster. Easy Mistake to make.

To the person who purchased Hermans I.D, would you be interested in Michael Jacksons? Going Cheap, In fact, I can give you two for the price of one.

Dad's absence ‘decimates’ black community
56 percent of black children live in single-parent families, statistics show

Updated: 8:02 a.m. PT June 14, 2007
CHICAGO - For Chris Gardner, who was played by Will Smith in the movie “The Pursuit of Happyness,” fatherhood is the greatest job in the world.

“There’s no pay. There are no benefits. You don’t get time off. You don’t get a break,” he said. “But once in a while you get to see your child shine and you say to yourself, ‘That’s my boy. That’s my girl.”’

It is also a job that Gardner and others believe is increasingly in trouble in the United States, even as the country gives its annual Fathers Day salute on June 17.

More than 19 million children — about one in four — were living in households where no father, biological or other, was present, according to a Census Bureau report in 2005.

The statistics also show that this burden falls more heavily on black children. Some 56 percent of black children lived in single-parent families in 2004, with most of those families headed by mothers. That figure compared with 22 percent of white children and 31 percent of Hispanic children.

“Father absence in the African American communities, across America, has hit those communities with the force of 100 hurricane Katrinas,” said Phillip Jackson, executive director of the Chicago-based Black Star Project, which helps children in mainly minority schools.

“It is literally decimating our communities and we have no adequate response to it.”

Among those who grew up without a father is Gardner, the subject of the movie “The Pursuit of Happyness.” The movie tells how he struggles with homelessness and raising a child while trying to pursue a new career as a stockbroker in training.

Gardner is now the millionaire head of investment firm Gardner Rich & Co. and a motivational speaker.

For groups like the Black Star Project, the focus is on education, sponsoring activities such as getting fathers to walk to school with their children on the first day of classes each year.

Last year an estimated 300,000 men in 127 cities participated that first day of school effort called the “Million Father March” and this year the group hopes to see nearly half a million men in 200 communities.

“The children start thinking, ‘Wow, my father is here. This thing called education, this must really be important because my father took the time off to come up here’,” Jackson said.

More susceptible to challenges
Jackson said it has taken decades for fathering to decline to its current state, and restoring it would be a long process.

“We’re not going to wake up tomorrow or next year and say ‘Voila! We’re back to where we were,”’ he said.

In 2006, the National Fatherhood Initiative in Gaithersburg, Maryland commissioned the University of Texas at Austin to conduct a survey of 701 fathers called “Pop’s Culture: A National Survey of Dads’ Attitudes on Fathering.”

It found that 91 percent of those questioned agreed there is a father-absence crisis in America. They listed work demands as the No. 1 barrier to being a good father. Other major impediments included the media and popular culture followed by financial problems.

Fathers who were not married to the mother of their children cited a lack of cooperation from mothers as the chief obstacle to being a good father, followed by work responsibilities, financial problems and treatment of fathers by the courts.

A Message From the Chief of Police

Welcome to lapdonline.org, the official web site of the Los Angeles Police Department.

This is an exciting time for the LAPD. Our goals continue to be to make Los Angeles a safer city, reduce the fear of crime, prevent and prepare for terrorist attacks, implement the Consent Decree and work in partnership with you, the community.

One of the many tools we use to provide information and help educate our community members is this web site. We are in the process of overhauling and redesigning the site. This streaming video is just one example of the technological improvements we have made and will continue to make.

I am pleased to see the results of a recent survey we conducted that will assist us in making the changes to our site that you feel are important. The positive ratings we have received and your kind comments are sincerely appreciated.

One of the LAPD’s core values is to strive for "quality through continuous improvement." We will continue to improve this site by making it easier to navigate, keeping it updated and making it more relevant to you, the user.

One area of the web site I encourage you to click on is the new "Our Communities." In the past, the only way to get information more specific to your neighborhood was by visiting the LAPD geographic police station. On this new redesigned site, we have subdivided it by various communities and neighborhoods and can now include more specific information relevant to where you live.

But we are not through yet. We have just begun with the improvements. Over the next year you are going to see even more changes to your web site. Changes we hope will encourage you to become involved in working with us to make Los Angeles the safest big city in America.

Please continue to forward your suggestions and thank you for visiting LAPDOnline.

If you watch the video you will see how several Milwauke police beat a poor woman who was almost trampled by the riot policeman’s horse. You see how the cops are always the ones who cause the pedo just like the LAPD in McArthur Park. When are cops going to stop violating the civil rights of minorities. Don Q you should be the next chicano president, que Viva Aztlan.

I think the Austin police also started the pedo at the rally in Austin, Texas when are we going to demand our civil rights (si se puede) and not be abused and oppressed by gavacho cops all over the country. We need our gente to unite with mayates against all the police, Piche Policia !!!!!

You can quote me all you fucking want. Some of what I say is sarcasm (the shit about the cartels taking over towns), some of what I say I mean. Either way, quote this:

Cops that abuse their authority are FUCKING SCUMBAGS. Is that objective enough for ya? Take a picture, write it down, save it as a pdf, for all I give a shit.

We need cops that serve at the mercy of the people and the constitution of the land. The cops that violate either, like the out of control scumbags at McArthur? They can perish and burn in the very hell they spawned from. Quote that and put it on a t shirt.

ANd although the "Latino's" are gaining some power in government we are still a long way from calling the shots in LA and anyone with any brains knows it.

So your argument about the powers that be (mainly old rich white men) not having the huevos to pull rank and exclude Latino's or any other minority from sharing the power is so naive that it is almost embarrasing in it's childlike simplicity of thought.

Make up your mind ese. Which is it?
We have debated this topic before.
Need I post up my previous statements where I said the same things you said in your above statement, AND YOU ARGUED WITH ME??
Is it simply a matter of you needing to cry about racism that makes you say things like you did a month ago, and then change your position when you need to brag about our gente?
We debated this topic last month, and you took me to task for calling the powers that be in LA politics "they". Remember that?
When I told you that the "they" I was referring to were the powerful Hispanic politicians like the Mayor, City Councilmen etc., in response to me you post up the pedo in your top post.
Then in your bottom post you say the same things I said a month ago, but this time because it supports your position.

So my question to you would be this.
Who holds the reins of power in LA?
Whites or Hispanics?
Either way vato, you can't have it both ways, and one of your above posts is puro pedo. Which one is it? When you forget what you said a month ago and get called out on it...

Would you care to elaborate on the "drastic" changes you speak of regarding training techniques and LAPD leadership and policy?
You have no fucking idea, once again, of what you are speaking about.
Are you an old veterano, or an undercover cop playing one? How would you know about the "drastic" changes in training techniques?
Ala chingada, are you a pinche cop ese? Have you been shitting us all this time?
Here's the reality of what happened.
Angelinos got pissed off over the MayDay fiasco.
Villaraigosa and Bratton KNEW they had to do something or suffer political fallout. They reassign a couple old timers....but the old timers say "fuck that" and retire.
Bratton appoints Segio Diaz to Deputy Chief.
Just the ticket to quiet down the maelstrom of controversy, which it has done. Even you Don Quixote, have posted up about the positive steps LAPD has taken after the incident.
Does two old heads retiring and Sergio Diaz being named Deputy Chief equate to drastic changes in LAPD leadership in your view?
Perhaps you would care to enlighten us as to how many LAPD officers have completed a new course in riot training; with a new curriculum and new ideology since the MayDay fiasco. Do you have any fucking idea how long it takes to train even a 100 cops with a completely new and revamped training curriculum?
You are a fucking payaso who talks pedo as you go along. If this statement of yours doesn't show the Wallista's you are full of shit than nothing will.
Nice try pendejo. You got called on your pedo and now you try to make up some more pedo to save face. It is evident that is your tactic consistently. That is the same pedo you tried when you got called out for being a racist, while crying about others who are racist. You were exposed then, and you've been exposed now.
Perhaps, maybe, if you would quit trying to sound like a fucking expert on every subject that was brought up on this blog, you would quit making yourself look like an ass.
Just a piece of advice. I doubt you'll take it.
My thought is that you will counter this argument with some more weak pedo, and I will be able to take pleasure in exposing you time and time again.
I am not the only one who does this. Other bloggers know the reality and consistently take you to task for it also.
You must like it.

Hector Marroquin Jr: L.A.'s Anti-Anti-Gang Activist Son of “No Guns” founder committed home-invasion robbery while on city payroll

By JEFFREY ANDERSON
Tuesday, June 19, 2007 - 6:00 pm
At the trial’s start, Hector Marroquin Jr.’s lawyer argued that his client was just doing a good deed when he went with a friend to the home of a former colleague just after Christmas 2005.

But in the end, Marroquin Jr., a purported anti-gang activist and son of Hector Marroquin — founder of the anti-gang group “No Guns,” who was recently charged with selling automatic weapons to an undercover federal agent — pleaded no contest last Friday to home-invasion robbery.

Marroquin Jr. was a program director at No Guns, funded by City Hall’s L.A. Bridges program to perform gang intervention, when he and co-defendant Pablo Cruz entered the home of a former No Guns employee as the former employee’s wife and baby cowered on a bed. Now both men are headed to state prison.

Cruz pleaded no contest to home-invasion robbery and will be sentenced to 16 years behind bars. Marroquin Jr. will be sentenced to nine years. Both men admitted they are members of 18th Street Gang, according to Hawthorne Police Department gang detective Chris Port, who saw Cruz flash gang signs as he was taken away. They will be required to register in a statewide database of gang members upon release from prison, Port said.

“This is a huge weight off our shoulders,” Port said on Tuesday. “I’m glad to see a true light shine on individuals as they really are — as opposed to what they are masquerading as.”

Hector Marroquin Jr. could not be reached for comment. His lawyer, Patrick Smith, did not return calls.

Founded in 1996 by Hector Marroquin Sr. after he was shot defending his son from unknown assailants, No Guns went on to collect more than $1.5 million from the Los Angeles City Council’s anti-gang program, L.A. Bridges. This, in spite of L.A. County Sheriff’s intelligence reports about Marroquin Sr.’s alleged ties to the Mexican Mafia and his repeated arrests on gun charges that never seemed to stick.

Marroquin Sr. and an accomplice, Sylvia Arellano, face up to 50 years each if convicted of selling automatic rifles, silencers and a machine gun to an undercover ATF agent last September, October and November.

The Marroquin family, including wife Charlotte and daughter Charleeda, at one time received $200,000 per year in Los Angeles taxpayer-funded salaries for their work with No Guns.

But when police searched Marroquin Jr.’s home in Lennox in May 2006, they found a fully loaded Czech Luger 9mm automatic, a loaded .32 Beretta Tomcat, an unloaded Glock, an unloaded Smith and Wesson 9mm automatic, 100 rounds of ammunition and gang literature and paraphernalia such as photos and hats, according to search-warrant affidavits obtained by the L.A. Weekly.

In spite of the May 2006 gun seizure — and the seizure at that time of an unloaded gun at the home of Marroquin Sr., who claimed the gun was not his — L.A. Bridges took several more months to cut ties with the father and son, finally doing so for alleged nepotism and misuse of funds.

The recent arrest of Marroquin Sr. and the conviction of Marroquin Jr. last Friday for home-invasion robbery come on the heels of the recent sentencing of another of the city’s purported anti-gang program leaders, Mario Corona, from a group called Communities in Schools, for possession of a pound of methamphetamine and a handgun.

Of course being a Lynwood or Compton resident you wouldn't have the same perspective as Eastside Mexican AMericans but politics on LA's Eastside is based on not only powerful alliances and dinero but you have to have a visible and well known reputation in the communities as a person who gets things done, like cleaning the streets, getting the old viejita a space in the assisted care housing complex, showing up at LULAC, and GI FORUM meetings, attending the neighborhood crime watch meetings, ect; ect; ect;.
If an elected official doesn't take care of this kind of business on the Eastside they will soon find themselves the topic of negative juiri juiri and chisme in the neighborhoods and that is usuallly a death sentence.

Like what happened to former Councilman "RIchard ALatorre" who due to his ignoring of trivial varrio problems like trash collection and street cleaning, for the sake of his BIg Homies and collecting his "lana", got his ass thrown out of office de voladas.
But his predecessor "Art Snyder" even though a gavacho and Republican, paid attention to every little problem that came his way, and that's why he was re-elected over and over

Villaraigosa understands this and that is why he can be found all the time at every girl scout cookie sale, PTA meeting, and benefit car wash.
And he's already a national scale politician ( Hillary came to LA just for Tony V's blessing!)
and as far as his "morals or ethics" I don't think the divorce will hurt him at all. He's a good looking single guy now who loves pussy, what's wrong with that?
He'll be running for Governor after AHnold leaves and could win.

why does anyone bother with El Culote...Don being a term of respect undeserved by El Culote no matter how old he is.

on a different note, that story about Goerge Torrez mentioned something that hasn't been hit upon here too much. One vato here said his mexican mafia connections were in reference to vatos (cartels) from mexico. In the story i read on la weekly, the Chicano mexican mafia tried to get the vato to pay taxes to which he responded with murder. So am i to believe that the chicano mexican mafia aint shit to those mafias from mexico?
why was this guy able to order hits on tax collectors, primera flats gang, and who knows how many other powerbrokers in La 's underground with impunity, 'cept for LE justice.

my god what would happen if the mafias from mexico started taxing these wannabe surenos in mexico. that would be funny...i know they have the manpower...all they have to do is take back the wannabes claiming sur...of course that could never happen because the vatos from east la are waaaaay smarter than those from lynnwood, comptone, san diego, bakersfield , fresno, eureka, and even mexico...aint that right senor Culote?

Villareigosa for Governor. Like the sound of that.

It's too bad that we're likely going to get Hillary instead of Obama, but anything's better than a Republican.

Rudy? That dude's going to have to flip flop so much on his social issues that I imagine he'll be dropping out after about the 3rd southern primary.

Hillary in the White House, Dems in control of Congress and Senate, and Tony V watching over California. Ha ha. I can see the Republican gavachos, and the coconut so called Latinos that hide under their nutsacks, moving to Canada ---- true patriots that they are. LOL.

To the future.

"WE CALL THEM MEXICOONS UP HERE."

Down here we call them Blackxicans and Mayateros.

Mexicoons, that's a good one.

To the vato that wants to know what would happen if Surenos were to get taxed in Mexico. First of all you have to understand that there are already un chingo de Surenos up and down Mexico. Some pendejos are no good fools that are just looking for a fix. Others are living different life styles and yet MANY others are still up to no good. And many of these are part of that manpower that you mentioned.

You have alot to learn about how it works.

StillNoScript,

That's such a lame argument it is sad. You fucked up and got caught in your bullshit. Then you claim you were being sarcastic. Anybody can say anything they want, and then escape responsibilty by claiming they were being sarcastic or just joking around. The way you argue and post up other bloggers comments, then refute their statements is classic. Then you fuck it all up and lose credibility when you get caught and claim you weren't serious, you were being sarcastic. Too bad. That's a bullshit excuse and a sorry comeback. You fucked up. We all do. Some of us admit it like a man, and some of us make excuses and try to escape responsibility.
I'm glad that cop lover caught you. I now see a side of you that explains a lot about your street cred. Although I don't agree with what happened in the park you lost the debate. I wish you would have been right and some cops were in jail, but that isn't what happened. The cop lover called it straight. Thats the way it is.
Admit it and move on. To further argue the point is useless unless some cops are brought up on charges.

I wonder if Marroquin Sr., Marroquin Jr., or Mario Corona, from a group called (Cholos in Schools) ever complained about never getting off a gang list.

When are all the mayates and mexicans going to learn NOT to have kids you can't properly raise or care for.

(06-21) 12:11 PDT SAN FRANCISCO -- San Francisco City Attorney Dennis Herrera filed lawsuits today against three alleged gangs in the Western Addition and one in the Mission District that authorities suspect of spreading violence and fear through both neighborhoods.

The lawsuits ask a Superior Court judge to declare the gangs a public nuisance and issue injunctions against them, which would result in curfews on alleged members and restrict their right to gather in public.

Herrera is seeking injunctions in two lawsuits against offshoots of the Norteño prison gang in the Mission District and a group in the Western Addition called Eddy Rock, along with two alleged Eddy Rock rivals, Knock Out Posse and Chopper City. Those two groups are part of a broader gang called the Uptown Alliance, Herrera said.

Both suits claim that the gangs in each neighborhood include about 365 unidentified members who sell drugs and commit violent crimes, including murder.

Herrera is seeking to bar alleged members from a host of activities in specified areas, including associating with any known gang member and loitering in public.

The suit against the Norteños would restrict their activities in an area stretching about 60 square blocks from Cesar Chavez Street to the south, Valencia Street to the west, Potrero Avenue to the east and 21st Street to the north.

Herrera says the three Western Addition groups control particular sections of the neighborhood, with Uptown Alliance claiming the turf west of Fillmore Street and Eddy Rock claiming the area east of the thoroughfare.

He seeks to restrict alleged Knock Out Posse and Chopper City members from six square blocks bordered by Ellis Street on the north, Divisadero Street on the west, Turk Street on the south and Steiner Street on the east.

Eddy Rock members would be barred from gathering in a six-square block area bordered by Ellis Street on the north, Gough Street on the east, Turk Street on the south and Webster Street on the west. That area includes Jefferson Square.

The city attorney will also ask that alleged Norteño members be prohibited from wearing red, the gang's color, and that members of all four groups be banned from flashing gang signs in the specified areas.

Herrera obtained an injunction last year against an alleged gang in Bayview-Hunters Point called the Oakdale Mob, which barred nearly two dozen men from going out after midnight or hanging out together in a four-block area. The lawsuits announced today mark a significant expansion of that strategy and would apply to many more members, and the Norteño lawsuit in particular would cover a far wider area than the Oakdale injunction.

The suits come as gang violence flares in both the Mission and the Western Addition, although Herrera has been preparing his case for some time.

On Saturday, a 15-year-old boy who police said had no gang ties was killed in a drive-by shooting on 24th Street, which is known for Norteño activity. The Western Addition was jarred earlier in the week by the shootings of eight people in three incidents, each of which apparently involved disputes between Eddy Rock and its rivals.

No arrests have been made in any of the crimes.

Western Addition gangs have been a frequent target of police investigations in recent months. Authorities say they battle each other and others, often over personal slights. Police increased patrols in the Western Addition in response to last week's violence, and officers were still being posted full-time Wednesday outside Eddy Rock's stronghold, the Yerba Buena Plaza East public housing project.

Obtaining civil injunctions against gangs was a tactic first used in Los Angeles in the late 1980s; 50 groups are now under such court orders in that city. The state Supreme Court upheld the use of such injunctions in 1997 in a case involving a gang in the Rocksprings neighborhood of San Jose.

Proponents of gang injunctions say they have made neighborhoods safer, pointing to studies that show drops in crime.

Critics say the tactic ignores the root causes of crime, such as substance abuse and unemployment, while stigmatizing those named in the court orders and depriving them of some of their rights. In Los Angeles, City Attorney Rocky Delgadillo recently overhauled his program after critics complained that no one had ever gotten off a gang list.

Good afternoon,

I have a question to all the LOS Area posters. While googling yesterday, I ran across a Sureno Varrio called "40 oz. Posse". On the post, it stated that the gang used to be a mixture of brown and blacks, and it was taunted for being SUR, since it started interracial. Can any of you homeboys please shed some light on this clika? Gracias. -Jose619
