SNITCHES, STANLEY AND REDEMPTION.
On the day that Stanley Williams will be available for viewing I'll forward my not-all-that-original theory that he'd be alive today if he had only come clean and debriefed.

Stanley defenders claim that he should have been spared because he supposedly reduced violence and saved lives. The problem with that claim is that it's purely anecdotal. There's no hard evidence to actually back that assertion.

Now let's take an example from recent history. Specifically the Metro Task Force and the debriefed dropouts that became CIs in that investigation. Thanks to CIs, in a brief period between January 1994 and April of that same year, CIs were credited with saving the lives of at least 13 people and probably a lot more. These targets were mostly other homies and carnals but there were a lot of innocent victims as well.

Here's a quick rundown. When Frankie B. was up on murder charges, a certain party put a witness to that murder in the hat. Thanks to a CI, Pomona cops swooped in and put the witness someplace safe.

When all of Big Hazard was greenlighted, every Hazard had a target on his back. The LAPD did a lot of stuff against Hazard that looked like enforcement and harrassment to the uninformed but what they were really doing was showing the flag and keeping the shooters out of the neighborhood. Lives saved? More than a few. They couldn't save them all, though.

When two El Monte Flores homies were put in the hat for suspicion of killing Joker Flores, the son-in-law of a carnal, a CI talked and the two homies were snatched off the street by El Monte PD and tucked away someplace safe.

When Night Owl Castro volunteered to hit a tax resister, a CI came forward and Castro was quickly arrested on out of state warrants.

After China Boy took one in the chest from Hazard while enforcing the tax code, four Hazards were put in the hat. A CI came forward and the four homies were "made safe" by LAPD CRASH.

Last item. The night that E.J. Olmos threw a party to celebrate the airing of a documentary on the making of American Me, a couple of brothers had gathered up weapons and soldiers and were planning a live fire exercise. A CI revealed the plan and the drive-by never happened. Lives saved? Who can say.

This is not anecdotal. This is verifiable material to which names, dates and proof can be attached. So while it's fashionable in some circles to say that Snitches belong in Ditches, it's also fairly obvious that Snitches can keep people (gangsters and civilians alike) out of ditches. The fact is that more than a few people are walking around today who owe their lives to snitches and don't even know it. Ironically, you can bet that some of those people probably have a very low opinion of snitches.

If Williams had had even a smattering of "saves" like the few mentioned above, chances are the arguments to spare him would have found more sympathy with the Gov. Hell, there probably would have been a few cops and prosecutors who would have signed affidavits testifying to his having saved lives. As it turned out, Williams decided to stay gangster to the end. He chose to be a dead martyr instead of a live snitch. It was his call.

Trukos- word to the wise lil homie: do'nt give up anymore personal information. you got NO IDEA who reads this shit, bro..

With so many people "taking on identities" on this Blog (and rightfully so in many instances), this advice to you, Trukos, is advice you should heed. Just an exercise in wisdom, my friend.

To Gava Joe: "Divide and Conquer" has always been the operative mo for the prison administration. The last thing anyone would want to see is Chicanos uniting in the gang world.

The biggest obstacle to that happening is themselves. Who would call the shots? A So. Cal guy or a Noreno? In theory, California Chicanos submitting to one gang power is a plot devised in hell. It would take brain cells to pull it off. Attempting to overcome by sheer brute strength is not gonna cut it.

Anonymous said...

but i aint scared at the same time. aratos
see i knew i was mistaken calling you a punk.

anyways, I think all the chicans who ever got promoted due to affirmative action or got some blonde pussy because females with hispanic last names got the best jobs and wanted to be a hernandez, sanchez or martinez, should take a moment to remember the late Mrs. King. Like it or not, MLK did alot for chicanos via the civil rights movement. more than your local gangster ever did anyways.

My IQ is higher than Mundo's by 15 points. Is that enough brain power? j/k Actually, even though I think alot of these EME leaders aren't really racist, it does serve their purpose to war with blacks. Doing so is helping to unite the mexicans down south. If it keeps up long enough, blacks may fight all mexicans, including northerners out of desperation or confusion. I read about an NF generals attempt to broker a truce under the name "chicanada" and had a homie come out out of new folsom several years back talking about how the surenos were showing the nortenos love on his yard. puro pedo ? who knows? I leave you experts to figure it out.
I do know this blog is behind by a few weeks on the CDN

Orale all you netbangers!
I don't want to sound like an alarmist or some llorona or "Jeremiah", but talking today about this pedo in LA with some people that would know the movida behind what's going down, are telling me it's just the beggining of a massive "cleaning house" and is organized and orchestrated to consolidate and expand control and power.
The "wila's" have been posted up and it could be bad!
The chisme is that it won't stop in the pinta's but will spill out into the streets.
Unfortunately some poor inocent Mexicano selling "elotes" or some poor chanate driving home from his jale will probably get blasted and fucked up by some youngsters "para agarrar la onda"
Be careful all you internet camarada's!

Chicano and black gang members exchanged gunfire on 59th and Avalon and proceeded to a nearby park. Trenches were dug with Chicanos on one side firing
AK-47's and Blacks armed wtih similar firepower returning fire.
A black gangster with a blue headband threw a hand grenade into the Chicano group; a Chicano, also with a blue headband, dove for the grenade, picked it up, pulled the pin and threw it back ........

Que Vo Gava Joe, I have a carnal that is and always has been a surfer, and your right about the surf up north. He moved to Santa Cruz many years ago and still surfs with the OG's at Steamer Lane and Manressa.
Life is funny no? Here I was a chingon street vato and my little carnal was up at 4:00am and heading to the beach in his 56 Chevy Nomad with his other chicano surf homies(mostly So Bay). When I got busted as a kid and in YTS he would come with my jefita for visits wearing his Huaraches, surf trunks, and Pendelton's! Fuck did I have explaining to do with the camarada's!
ANd while I'm confessen I remember cruising with the homies, dropping a couple of red's drinking a little Thunderbird, fumando lena, and all of us tripping to "Dick Dale" doing "Mr. Peppermint Man" or "Miserlou", the "Ventures" etc:.
Yea there was some crossover even on the East Side of LA.!
That is until "Jimi Hendrix" declared "Surf Music is dead!" Third Stone from the Sun!

Orale Don Cowabunga - I'm pulling my own covers here, but you pretty much described my early life to a tee.. I grew up in santa cruz. Started surfin Cowell's, graduated to middle peak steamer lane.. caught all that great leg from "over the hill" San Jose, Cupertino, Morgan Hill every summer. Cruised Beach St., ate at Spivey's, ran the "midnight drags" out at four lane..Did the funky gallo at the cocoanut grove.. Fought the dudes from Watsonville til we got to comparing stashes and alliances were built. It was all good, and we're gonna catch flak for not stickin to subject, but yo, this dismal blog needs a little levity..

Those times are long gone. The house i grew up in just sold for 3/4 million. My dad sold it in '68 for $40K.. I drove moms by it a coupla yrs back and she noticed that the same drapes were still hanging!! Real estate is loco, taxes are loco, and from what i could see most of the gente are flaky to beat hell..Never seen so many weird people in one place. It was like vacaville in '70...LOL

Funny thing about those wool Pendletons - they'd hold odor. We used to put ALL shirts in the trunk when we were burnin reefer.

Take care Don Q.. Sounds like the homefront is beginning to sizzle.. Consider Kansas, carnal.. Surfin golden waves of grain.. JEPA!!!

Why does the news media keep touting MS13 as the deadliest gang in the country? What kind of a force are they in L.A. County Jail and CDC? They seem like a bunch of chuntaro wana-be gangsters who try too hard to be hard like the Surenos. What do you guys think?

LA surfing culture is huge, surfers used to be way into all aspects of dope, so its interesting to me to see how it (surf culture) intersects with other elements of "Gangs, crime, cops and politics in Los Angeles."

Here are some great surfer songs:

Beach Boys (Surfing in T.J.)
Jan and Dean (The Little Old Vieja from Ensenada)
Beach Boys (I Wish They All Could be Lincoln Heights Girls)

"Orale homes, let's put the gang fight on hold, let's go do some Wipe Outs in Huntington Beach, loco."

Ese Don Quixote, you are a first class bitch. You don't who's dick to suck on this web site. And talk about a pinchi wannabe, don't talk that "I used to be this huge vato loco" bullshit. Your nothing but a fucking EME groupie, puto.

Well we used to beat the dog shit out of these guys when ever we were bored,(wallabys dont fail me now)eventually some of them turned into stoners/loadies and later on when they came to the barrio to score or when I'd see them in the system somewhere we'd reminisce about them days. Its a trip how times change, now one of my chavalos is a stoner/skateboarder and wants to try surfing, I'm just happy that his pants arent sagging, and he dont talk like a terron, I aint too happy about the yesca he smokes, but what can I do, he aint even a fraction of the travieso that I used to be. Alright fellas, ay te wacho.

Well since Walley's still Awol.
You know a lot of people think that the surfers were punks and soft, but let me tell you that there were a bunch of Chicano surfers that were stand up vato's and still are. There were a bunch who came from old time gangster chicano families and don't suffer fools.
My carnalito who is a surfer in the Santa Cruz area was telling me about a year ago that some of his old surf homies came up and went surfing at steamer lane. In this area there is a bunch of locals cliqued up and don't share with nobody.
So my brother and about three of his homies who are big strong corn fed chicano's in thier 50's are surfing and some little "rudy poop local" drops in on my carnalito and then starts some pedo.
Bro just bitch slapped the motherfucker off his board and told him to take it to the beach.
So about 10 of these locals group up on the beach but the homeboy surfers from LA just got in their faces, spit in their faces, and called em out to no avail, scared the fuck out of these guys. These are big old chicanos and will throw down in an instant! One of these guys I known since a kid comes from a connected family but has lived and surfed on the "Big Island of Hawaii" for years. He has a negocio at a famous surf beach called "El Pachuco Taco's"
Don't sell them all short!

Que Paso Veteranos? You down batos from Delhi remember eh Ese? my old lady found this FxTROOP stuff link to SANTA NITA 1st street and Jackson and the way it was. Orale Ese, this veterano still sports pegs, cufflinks and pendletons listens to oldies and remebers when morenos werent mayates but friends when the only low riders with class were Imperials, and rode with Bellflower gabachos and south gate latinos. The days wehn jerry butler sang -for your precious love- and we pachucos dedicated songs on KRLA or Art Laboe Any cholitas remember? Delhi used to be a neighborhood of poor whites and chicanoes. my old lady raised up from that place and we came up in the santa ana valley when the cholos warred over territorio on that street warner that used to be called delhi. Only early chicanitos and local delhi gabachos from then would consider morenos to have great music of oldies and doo-wop all the chingasos could gather around and drink beer alongside our rides ese. Later, we would cruise up delhi and look for fxtroop carnalgas alone. Morenos didnt talk all that jive slang as bad then but the Oldies always gave us reason for respect for those batos. I have read these writings about the morenos, gabachos and the free for all in the pinta. I can only tell you I have respect for all the imperials, classics, North Paramount Hells Angels, morenos, chicanos and gabachos we rode with
back in those days. This veterano is old now, my days are now in the sunset, Chingaso Pachuco El Moro. This old man has seen it all, the good the bad and the ugly. Go easy on our moreno brothers they once had oldies we all understood and loved. My old lady agrees with me on the one thing we miss the most; oldies. Those morenos once had it. They can achieve that again, and do even better next time. Rapola is a fad. I look out upon Warner Avenue, and I still see what we batos called DELHI Barrio, next to the Santa Fe Railroad Tracks Barrio Delhi.

Orale, Quixote. We're supposed to keep that kinda shit in the pinchi closet, buey! Now you got this other pendejo going because of your senile trip down pinchi memory lane. Can't you just see the cover of this desgraciado magazine? A vato with shades and a Pancho Villa brocha ON A SURF BOARD, wearing a Pendleton rolled up at the sleeves with his tattooed arms extended (como un pinchi pajaro volando)and yelling "Ajua!".
That ain't a pretty sight, man. It ain't "politically correct" for our street image to be perceived as a fucking "cholo taking on a wave". We're supposed to be dodging balazos, buey, not waves!
You fucked up, Quixote. I'm going to petition Wally to get your old ass placed "IN THE HAT", cabron.
Your giving us a bad name.

Update----EME accused of "stirring the pot" in confidential police bulletins. EME "edict" is for Chicano gang members to "hit blacks wherever they cross paths".
This is not good news.

Hey Wally! You should be ashamed of yourself, ese, for letting this shit go down the toilet like this! Two months without a fuckin word?? You must be in rehab somewhere or else buried in a shallow grave.

My regards to Don Q, Tijuas, Gava Joe and Retired Joker. (You vatos are the only ones left with any semblance of class and respect)

Here's hoping for Wally's resurrection from among the corpses!

It seems as though ignorance loves company, one dumb ass post spawns numerous in terms of black vs. brown.
The black dude had some points.
In Central America down to South America, Mexicans are looked down upon as low man on the latino totem poll.
Counter Point:
With all these famous black athletes, actors, politicians and poets you also have..
Marion Berry, Mayor of DC..crack smoker
Latrell Sprewell....choked his coach
Ron Artest... Beat up fans in the stands
Whitney and Bobby... self explanatory
Tupac...Hipocrit. Made a song about respecting mothers and women but had been arrested for forced sodomy.
OJ!
Micheal Jackson!
The list goes on and on.
But something can also be said when you're claim to fame is having all the power in the CDC. IS that something we really want to be bragging about?
If you are someone on the outside looking in and seeing this. You have to laugh to yourself. You guys are doing what "The Man" wants you to do.
Its claccis para-military stretegy.
Divide and Conquer. Let them kill each other off.
You guys are just too blind with machismo to see it happening.
Good post El More.
You vato's hate Mayates so much but listen to their music all day long and I'm not talking about rap.
Who do you think sings these oldies?
Brenton Wood: Black
Gene Chandler: Black
The Intruders: Black
Thee Midnighters: Black
Barbara Lewis: Black
Barbara Mason: Black
Shit, even half the group from WAR is black...
So lets face it, in the eyes of white people all people of a darker shade are niggers.
We are a slave to Liqour, Drugs, Threads, Cars, Rims, Stereos,TV, Movies, etc. All, for the most part, owned by white people. So as long as we pay our pinche taxes, buy our goods from white owned companies and kill each other off, than the white man just smiles all day long.

So come on youngsters get your shit together and use this, thats why people call us Dumb Mexicans!

All Los Angeles County Jails on Lockdown By JEREMIAH MARQUEZ, Associated Press Writer

LOS ANGELES - All seven Los Angeles County jails were on lockdown Thursday after another brawl broke out between Hispanic and black inmates, continuing a week of rioting that has injured scores of inmates and killed one.

Five racially motivated fights broke out Wednesday, the largest involving about 300 inmates in a dorm at the medium-security North Facility of Pitchess Detention Center in Castaic, about 40 miles northwest of downtown Los Angeles, said sheriff's Sgt. Don Manumaleuna.

"Deputies were able to regain control of the facility, and at this time they're investigating the cause of the disturbance," he said.

A total of 19 inmates were injured in the fighting Wednesday, one critically, said sheriff's Deputy Bill Spear.

The latest brawls began inside a group dorm, where more than 100 inmate separated themselves along racial lines. That violence was quickly put down, but similar fights broke out at four more dorms, leading deputies to fire sting balls on inmates to gain control, said sheriff's Sgt. Diane Hecht.

All seven county jails were expected to remain locked down through at least Thursday, Spear said.

Another section of the same detention center was the site of rioting Saturday between Hispanic and black inmates that killed one man and injured more than 100 others. That was followed by two jail melees Monday night.

Investigators were looking into the cause and timing of Wednesday's fights.

Authorities have said they suspect the recent violence was started by gang leaders outside the jail contacting Hispanic associates inside and directing them to attack blacks as retaliation for a recent assault in South Los Angeles.

In an interview with The Associated Press, California Corrections Secretary Roderick Q. Hickman said his department has offered to work with sheriff's officials.

He said state authorities want to know what's causing the problems there so they don't spill into the statewide prison system. The Los Angeles County jails often feed into the prison system.

In Central California, four inmates were hurt in fighting that began Tuesday at the California Correctional Training Facility in Soledad. That uprising prompted authorities to place a prison unit on lockdown Wednesday.

The fracas, which involved hundreds of black, Latino and white inmates, was not believed to be connected to the violence in the Los Angeles County jail, corrections spokesman J.

More Rioting Erupts at Jails
More than 20 are hurt at Castaic complex. Racial violence spreads to a downtown facility.

By Megan Garvey and David Pierson, Times Staff Writers

Nearly 500 inmates fought Wednesday in racially charged melees at Pitchess Detention Center in Castaic, marking a fifth day of violence in the Los Angeles County jail system and underscoring officials' inability to stop unrest tied to street conflicts between Latino and black gangs.
...........
The change in street culture was originally driven by the prisons, with Mexican Mafia prison leaders ordering Latino gang members on the outside to take over black-controlled neighborhoods and drug trade, said Wes McBride, a Sheriff's Department gang investigator for many years and now president of the California Gang Investigators Assn.

(You vato's hate Mayates so much but listen to their music all day long and I'm not talking about rap)

And this is where many people miss the point. The brown on black thing is NOT necessarily about race.

Blacks have a rich and proud history that they should always be proud of. Chicanos likewise. As Americans we can look up to MLK as a positive role model, no matter who you are. He transcends color. Ditto Cesar Chavez .... a hero to ALL Americans.

Behind bars, the L.A. brown on black thing can historically be traced to all the bullshit reasons any screwed up politician and sociologist and "nigger-hating" (excuse my language) and "greaser-hating" (ditto) person may wish to advance.

But in today's mess (which will probably escalate although we hope not), it is a power play that begins and ends with the EME. Not only have they taken advantage of a pot needing only those volatile ingredients to get it boiling, but they will push hard.

Why? Because they hate the color of a black man's skin? Nope. Because blacks are loud and obnoxious and rude and primitive? Not hardly. Many gangster Chicanos fit the same category (loud, obnoxious and rude). It's all about Power and Control.

The EME will be the first to admit that their fiercest adversaries (historically speaking) have been:
(This is a Quiz)
a)white Nazi-types?
b)northern California gang members;
c)Nuestra Familia;
d)Black Guerilla Family; or,
e)black gang members.

Answer to a): Not white Nazi-types.

Initially, they "used" these inmates in the joint. They also "protected" many of them from blacks and this relationship evolved into a good working relationship which began with the AB and exists today with woods and The Brand.

AB members literally idolized the "OG" EME gangsters behind bars and many EME heavyweights took individual AB dudes under their wings. Two examples: "New York" Crane "looked up" to "Moe" Ferrel (even though N.Y. was about 6'6" and Moe was 5-8!), Barry "Red Baron" Mills idolized his EME mentor Martin "Kato" Vargas. Kato was a fanatic and he utilized Barry in DVI to kill two NF members as he "broke him in". Now look at Barry ... mean motor scooter. N.Y. actually committed Hari Kari (spelling?) when he was suspected (by his AB bros) of "talking" to the man (he never did!).
b)not northern Cal gang members;

They are low on the totem pole. The EME has very little respect for the norteno although surenos seemed to be caught up in this wave of hatred (and vice versa). EME considers nortenos vastly inferior (criminally speaking) to their sureno underlings.

c)not Nuestra Familia members;

They have almost the same view about NF as they do about nortenos. The NF has demonstrated their ability to "defend" themselves and I quote defend because the EME attitude has always been about offense, not defense and their aggressiveness is virtually unparalleled. EME members consider themselves "bulletproof" and still scoff at the NF with much contempt.

d)not black gang members;

The EME views them in almost the same manner that they view a norteno gang member - with contempt. They feel that a black gang member does not even belong on the same planet, let alone share a yard with them.

e)DITTO Black Guerilla Family;

The EME "enjoys" combat with the BGF because they consider them a "worthy" opponent. The EME respects bravery and, once again, they violently pursue BGF's, not because they're black and because EME hates blacks, but because they consider it a REAL feather in their cap.

The EME will use this brown on black thing in the same manner they used the no-drive-by "Humanitarian Decree" to do what? Ingratiate themselves with the local community to prevent brown on brown violence? Hell no!

Power and Control. It's about exerting their Power (flexing their muscles) and about controlling the gangs that provide the "grunt" work for them.

The EME have gotten somewhat wiser in their older years, preferring to allow their "fodder" to take care of most of the dirty work while they sit off in their Ivory Towers.

Does this mean that, if given the physical opportunity minus the restraint of being housed in SHU's, they could not/would not take care of biz on their own? No, but it's so much easier calling the shots from Pelican Bay and having a Sureno take care of a job for them.

The EME will seek to exploit this brown vs. black scene for the purpose of continuing, strengthening and perpetuating their iron fist control on the street gangs. This evolvement in continuing control is eerie.

Many would like to say that they (EME) planned it this way but I really believe that it has simply played out like this. The inevitablity could almost be predicted and I marvel at how a flash point never occurred sooner.
Like Don Quixote, I do not wish to sound like Jeremiah in "prophesizing" doom but the EME's fingerprints are emerging.

Stay tuned. WALLY, WHERE ARE YOU????

Answer: He's around guys. He's been extremely busy on projects that have taken him "all over" but
he will have some new scoop ("chisme" as my good brothers call it) upon his eventual return. In the meantime, enjoy the Road to 1,000 Comments.

Peace .......

It was said by a great man that a sign of superior intelligence is the ability to hold opposing viewpoints in your mind and not go crazy.
That said, and me being the one who first said we owe alot to MLK, I'll say now that I love my brown gente and that the brotha fucked you fools up in this battle of wits. Every response to him only made you look more stupid.

now, thats getting your ass handed to you, with a big finger in it no less ahahaha

As usual Tijuana wrote eloquently:

"The EME will seek to exploit this brown vs. black scene for the purpose of continuing, strengthening and perpetuating their iron fist control on the street gangs. This evolvement in continuing control is eerie."

I've spent the last several wks. reading and learning and am totally amazed at the phenom that is this small band of EME leaders. They must assuredly sit in their strip cells in the SHU and cream their state-issue whites everytime they get a fresh wila re. the latest uprising, mini riot, etc. It's a dirty shame they get that kind of pleasure from any race's bloodshed. It IS eerie Tj!

I watched all your responses to the raza-baiter last night. I told you from the gate it was shit, he was shit, and you'd merely feed his ego by responding. But you guys went off and showed each other your "lists", played into his hands. (Incidently please remove Carlos Salinas de Gortari from all your lists, the man was more crooked than Nixon, and with his brother, stole billions from Mexico)

Did anybody else feel the peace the old FxTrooper brought to the mix? Reminiscing bout the ol Delhi Barrio? And the Oldies? Very cool..

I kinda got all teary-eyed, but that's probably just cuz i'm outta weed.

It's probably time for Don Q to wade in but he's off writing a "chicano surfbook" with his new carnal..

Ok. Is it me or did the blog finally get taken down? We seem to be able to comment back on this early post but not fwd to the latest. i'm wondering if the blogger just did'nt have enough of the crap that was flowing, all of it hostile. the logic and straight-forward commenting was gone and the tempo looked a lot like what seems to be happnin in LA, that being racially motivated skirmishes and lots of signifyin' off the evil side..
I miss it, the column.. Enjoyed the heck out of reminiscences from lots of the veteranos and the old cops too...
Folks got to shouting on here. They forgot what the blog was initiated for, did'nt read the early posts. They told you what you shoulda known, that the newstand was set up for positive reasons- NOT THE NEGATIVE SHIT-FEST IT BECAME..........

And for those of you who were there and have read the "old stuff" and have a real interest, did any of you notice that transmission, function, continuation of this blog: In The Hat was ended darn near precisely 3 yrs, (to the day) from when it was launched?

I'm thinking that one of the last posts was that news story that " CDC employee personal information was hacked by convicts" or some such shit, and I'm thinkin that was the final straw. The blog had done a 180 and become a conduit for negative energy.. Thanx to ALL you signifyin monkeys!!!!!

why do the south side pay taxes, the eme uses them to do there work in the pen and on the streets if they have beef with some one they just greenlight them then let the sur take care of them, and after they do all the work for the eme they have to pay them, the sur is bigger then the eme, at least in numbers, they do there work so why pay on top of it.to be greenlighted you went against what they said and people act like greenlighters are punks it seems there more down for not listening.
