DUDE, WHERE'S MY TRUCE?
The truce in Harbor Gateway is apparently a flop. The soldados from 204 who were supposed to show up this afternoon to sign a truce never made an appearance. Najee Ali never indicated who the other side to sign the truce was supposed to be. So the only people to sign the truce were people who weren't fighting to start with. In other words, civilians who weren't involved in the friction except as victims of the crossfire. So the truce must have been worded something like, "We promise to continue not shooting you." This is like Iceland declaring a truce with Lichtenstein. As much as we would have liked a different outcome, it looks like the entire peace initiative was a total figment of the public's imagination. Political myth, may we introduce you to reality? Tomorrow Tony V., Chief Bratton and others will travel to that neighborhood and will hopefully apply common sense to the infected area and continue application until the issue is resolved. Maybe.

SNS that's a good one. Weird how yesterday there was no mention of the "black" side/gang so who exactly were 204st. gonna stop fighting, was the truce with all blacks in the area. Ali is another one of those guys trying to be the "black represenative" of L.A, there's at least a dozen of them and shit they fight each other more then the gangs do. What a joke.

Speaking of gang injuctions. Our lovely mayor of Costa Mesa and his two fuck nut right wingers on the city concil majority are talking Gang Injuction in Costa Mesa. Now sure we had a few drive bys over the summer and a couple of deaths but shit Costa Mesa, is no Santa Ana let a lone a place that needs one of those stupid gang injuctions. Those things are so lame that myself and my 7 year old son would be on the list for having been in contact on several occasions with known local gang members who we know and haven given rides to places i.e their P.O.
Serious though they put just about anyone and their mother on those stupid list and does that shit really work? NO!!

Here is a pretty good article I found while cruising the internet, its an interview with our very own "Wally"

Gauging the Gangs
A respected writer spent five years studying the Mexican Mafia. What he discovered will shock even the most seasoned cop.
interview by Brentin Mock

Whenever Tony Rafael leaves home, he carries a .45-caliber handgun nestled in a holster just below his armpit. A Cold Steel Recon-1 knife is stashed elsewhere on his person. Concealed weapons permits are hard to come by in Los Angeles County, but Rafael is a special case.
For the past five years, the respected writer and gang expert -- who uses only the name he writes under in public because of his dangerous work -- has been researching one of the deadliest gangs in America for a nonfiction book he's writing on the Mexican Mafia, or "La Eme"(the Spanish word for the letter 'M'), tentatively titled Southern Soldiers. His sources are of the "L.A. Confidential" variety: prison inmates, gang members past and present, homicide detectives, FBI agents and their informants. He has volunteered for the Los Angeles Police Department, conducting long-term surveillance outside gang hangouts, and has dug up the cases of hundreds of gang members from the county court system to document the bloody swath they've cut across Los Angeles.
One heart-arresting fact the streetwise investigator recently uncovered is that Mexican Mafia leaders have declared a "green light" on African Americans found in neighborhoods claimed by the powerful prison-based gang. This means that members of Latino street gangs affiliated with the La Eme are under orders to harass, assault, and even murder African-Americans, who Mexican Mafia leaders view as sub-human.
The reason for this, Rafael has found, is that a longstanding prison gang war between the Mexican Mafia and the African-American prison gang, Black Guerilla Family, has led to a deep racial loathing between the gangs that has spilled over into the streets of Los Angeles County.
Until now, media coverage of this issue has missed the Mexican Mafia connection by focusing narrowly on the convictions of four members of a single street gang, the Avenues, for violating federal hate crime laws by murdering blacks in the Highland Park neighborhood. According to Rafael and other gang experts, the problem is far more pervasive.
Rafael sat down with the Intelligence Report in his Los Angeles office in October to discuss the shocking truths he found about the Mexican Mafia and how its leaders have ordered Latino gangs outside the prisons to sow terror among African Americans.
INTELLIGENCE REPORT: How did you find out about the Mexican Mafia's policy of racist violence against blacks?
TONY RAFAEL: I've been researching for a book on the Mexican Mafia that will be published next year. I became aware of this as a result of that research, and it was a shock. I knew the Mexican Mafia collected taxes [from street gangs], but I didn't realize they had initiated a policy of ethnic cleansing. This comes from the top. This comes from the shot callers. The guy who issued the order to the Avenues [one of many Mexican Mafia-controlled street gangs] to get rid of all blacks was a guy by the name of Alex "Pee Wee" Aguirre. Aguirre is a made man in the Mexican Mafia, he came from the Avenues originally, and he's currently serving a life term at a federal penitentiary in Marion, Ill.
IR: And this truly amounts to a policy of "ethnic cleansing"?
RAFAEL: Absolutely. There's no doubt about it. These cases are scary. Take [Latino gang member] Frank Limón -- he shot a black male named Eric Green. Green and a friend of his were stopped at a stop sign on 11th Street and Pomona [in Pomona], and Limón just came up to him and shot him in the head, wounding him severely. Green is partially paralyzed, he's developed cognitive disorders, and he walks slowly, because the bullet is lodged in his brain and can't be removed.
Limón grew up next to black families in the neighborhood. He and Green knew each other and had no problems with each other personally. In fact, Limón used to go to Green's birthday parties when they were kids. But a week after Limón was jumped into the Pomona 12 [street gang], he started shooting at black kids because the Mexican Mafia had "green lighted" all blacks in the neighborhood. And when you click up with a gang that's loyal to the Mexican Mafia, the Mexican Mafia comes before God, your family, and your friends going all the way back to childhood. When they tell you to do something, you gotta do it.
IR: Why would the gangs take up this kind of race war?
RAFAEL: Well, to understand the background to these racial shootings and homicides you need to first understand some background on how the Mexican Mafia operates. They're primarily a prison gang, like the Black Guerilla Family and Aryan Brotherhood. What the Mexican Mafia has been able to do is project power outside of the prison system. There are only about 250 to 300 Mexican Mafia members in the California prison system that are fully validated ["made"] members, but what I compare them to are the generals and colonels of an army out on the streets. Everything south of Bakersfield is considered a Mexican Mafia stronghold, basically what you call sureños, or "south-siders."
Those sureños are obliged, whether they like it or not, to swear allegiance to the Mexican Mafia. If you're a little gang member in Avenues [the name of a Los Angeles neighborhood, as well as the gang that operates there] or Conoga Park and you're dealing in drugs, or some other illegal activity, you have to pay the Mexican Mafia a street tax. If you're dealing dope, you gotta buy your dope from the Mexican Mafia, you sell it and once you sell it you owe them a percentage of your profits.
In southern California, the Mexican Mafia and the [other] Hispanic street gangs have achieved what I call complete vertical integration. Say there's a little gang member who'll get arrested, he'll go to prison, and the minute he lands in prison they give him what they call the "X Files," the rules and regulations of the Mexican Mafia.
For example, one of those rules is that, if you're on a tier, if you're in the number one or the last cell in the tier, and you're celled up with another Mexican, one of you two has to stay awake at all times. That's the rules, so no one will sneak up on you. Also, the bloqueros, the guys in charge of the cell block, they have to collect from everyone on the tier and kick up to the Mexican Mafia leaders. They control the county jails and the state prison system. And because they control the jails and the prisons, they control the streets, because if you're an independent and you say, "Screw you. I don't wanna pay my taxes," they will either get you on the street -- they green light you and kill you, assault you, whatever they wanna do -- or they catch you when you enter the prison system.
You have to understand, these gang members are looking to go to jail or prison. They expect it. To them, it's just an extension of the streets. All their friends are there, their family's there, all their ol' homies from growing up in the 'hood, they're all there. But if they want to remain a part of that culture, and if they want to be under the Mexican Mafia's protection, they have to obey the Mexican Mafia's rules and follow their orders, inside and outside the penal system.
IR: And why do those orders include terrorizing and killing blacks?
RAFAEL: They don't want blacks in their neighborhoods. They say it makes their neighborhood look bad.
It started with the Mexican Mafia ordering street gangs to cleanse themselves of black members, before they moved on to cleansing neighborhoods. For example, the 18th Street gang, this was a [MacArthur Park neighborhood] gang that had blacks and Hispanics in it for a long time, up until about 10 years ago, when the Mexican Mafia leaders told the 18th Street, "If you don't want to get green-lighted, get all the blacks out of your gang." They had to go. Before that, the 18th Street gang was an equal opportunity employer. But the Mexican Mafia said, "We can't have it, can't have blacks in our gangs."
The way I hear these knuckleheads tell it, they don't want their neighborhoods infested with blacks, as if it's an infestation. It's just pure racial animosity that manifests itself in a policy of a major criminal organization.
IR: Does the Mexican Mafia have the same policy toward whites or Asians?
RAFAEL: No. In fact, in the California prison system the Aryan Brotherhood and the Mexican Mafia have made an alliance to gang up against the Black Guerilla Family. It's common knowledge in the prison system that if there's a fight between a Mexican Mafia member and a black inmate, and there aren't enough Mexican Mafia guys to jump on his side, the Aryans are supposed to jump in on his side. This is an alliance that goes back 20 years. The Mexican Mafia and the Aryan Brotherhood have a mutual racial hatred for blacks.
IR: The Avenues killings and the Avenues gang have been getting all the media attention recently, but there are a lot of other street gangs loyal to the Mexican Mafia. How many of them also target blacks?
RAFAEL: All of them. What happened in the Avenues is happening all over southern California. I wouldn't go so far as to say it's happening throughout all of Los Angeles, or that there's policy to drive blacks out of the entire metropolitan area, but it's certainly happening in all the areas where the Mexican Mafia and their allied gangs feel they have control.
For example, they don't control Beverly Hills or the west side of Los Angeles. But places like [the Los Angeles neighborhood of] Highland Park, very strong presence. Pomona, very strong. West and north San Fernando Valley, extremely strong. And these are places where you don't see many blacks living in the first place, so wherever the Mexican Mafia has a very strong or extremely strong presence, the blacks who live there are going to have problems. The federal government is aware of this, and the decision to prosecute the Avenues using federal hate crime laws came from the highest levels of the U.S. Attorney's office. They were basically using the Avenues case to send a message to the Mexican Mafia leaders, to say, "This is not going to happen."
IR: And are those gang leaders getting the message?
RAFAEL: They got it, but they don't care. It's not like their reaction has been, "Message heard, okay, we're gonna back off." One week before the [Avenues federal hate crimes trial] ended, another black kid was killed by the Avenues 43.
IR: What level of truth is there to the rumor that Bloods and Crips are going to start carrying out similar racial attacks on Latinos as a form of revenge?
RAFAEL: It's already happening. There was one case in the Avenues already where three [Latino] family members were shot and killed by two black guys with AK-47s. The victims were civilians, not gang members. The killers rolled up on them in central Avenues, opened up on them with the AKs, then, after the [Latino] guys were down, the [black gang members] walked up and shot them in the back. It was coup de grâce, assassination, pure-out assassination. So, yes, unfortunately, it's started.
IR: Some people who live in Highland Park point out that many of these killings [of blacks] happened years ago, and that it was a relatively small problem caused by a relatively small group. But you're saying this is still a big problem today, in more areas than just Highland Park?
RAFAEL: Absolutely. It's not like if you're black they're definitely going to shoot you on sight if they only see you once in Highland Park. However, if you move there, like [2000 murder victim] Anthony Prudhomme, and they see you going in and out of your house all the time, or you start hanging out there regularly, like [2001 murder victim] Christopher Bowser, sitting in front of a bus bench with your boom box, yeah, you'll have problems.
IR: You think that was a cultural thing with Bowser, them not liking a black man imposing on their public space with noise from his boom box?
RAFAEL: I think the boom box just made him stick out more. They just didn't want Bowser hanging out there, period, because he was black. He had been beaten up and robbed before and called the usual epithets. The [1999 murder victim] Kenneth Wilson case, though, was weirder. Wilson didn't even live in Highland Park. He was just visiting a friend of his, and he went out to move his car because it was parked illegally, blocking somebody's driveway, and he had the random misfortune of coming across one of the four most vicious guys there are, [Avenues gang member Gilbert "Lucky"] Saldana.
Saldana is an outright racist. He's the one who uttered the infamous words, "Wanna kill a nigger?" before Wilson was shot. And Wilson was targeted at random. He was just parking his car when these guys went out looking to kill a black guy. He was totally innocent.
IR: Let's say a member of a street gang under the Mexican Mafia's authority obeys all the other rules and pays his taxes, but when it comes to terrorizing blacks, he says, "Look, I have no problem with black people just for being black, so I don't want to do this," does he have that kind of wiggle room?
RAFAEL: No.
IR: So then, if he carries out an assault or a killing because he's under racist orders, even though he's not a racist himself, is that still truly a hate crime, or is it more accurately described as a gang hit?
RAFAEL: The guys prosecuted in the [federal] Avenues case, there was nobody holding a gun to their head. They went out looking for blacks to kill to earn stripes, and to curry favor and to bring up their status with the Mexican Mafia. They may have hated blacks and been down with killing blacks to begin with, or they may have just said, "To show you I'm with the program, I'll go out and do what I gotta do." But the end result is the same, and it's really at a basic level driven by the same sort of racial purity theories as nut groups like the KKK.
IR: Are there really any theories or ideology to the Mexican Mafia's racism, or is it just disorganized, visceral hatred?
RAFAEL: The Mexican Mafia derives inspiration and ethnic pride from the concept of La Raza (Spanish, in this context, for "The Race"), as well as from the Aztec, Aztlan movement. And this goes way back. There was a Mexican Mafia shot caller back in the 1970s named Rudolph Cheyenne Cardena, and before he was killed by rival Mexican gang members in 1978 or 1977, Cardena saw the Mexican Mafia the way George Jackson [a prominent member of the original Black Panther Party who founded the Black Guerilla Family] saw the black prison movement. He wanted to change the Mexican Mafia into a political, socially active movement, and what he used for inspiration was the Aztec culture. He taught himself Nahuatl [the ancient language of the Aztecs], started teaching it to all the other homies. In fact, to this day they still use Nahuatl to send coded messages to one another -- these kinds of three level-coded messages. You have to know the code, and then Nahuatl and so on. And one of the symbols of the Mexican Mafia is the Aztec worship [symbol].
They've brought in the Aztec heritage as part of their philosophical inspiration, and there are no black people in the Aztec culture. La Raza comes first to these guys. They see themselves as a race unto themselves, and there's really not too much room for anybody else.

ALL IT IS,IS THE LAW ENFORCEMENT POINTING THE FINGER AT THE LATINOS BUT REFUSE TO TAKE ACTION TOWARDS THE BLACKS DUE TO LAWSUITS AND NOT TO MENTION THE BLACKS MADE LAPD RUN BEFORE AND IN THAT CASE THE BLACKS BURNED THEIR OWN COMMUNITY AND THEN HAD THE BALLS TO CRY OVER IT WHEN THEY THEMSELVES CAUSED THE DESTRUCTION,ALL OVER A GUY THAT GOT BEAT CAUSE HE WAS ON PAROLE AND RUNNING FROM COPS!LAPD RETREATED FROM NORMANDIE AND FLORENCE DUE TO THE LACK OF BALLS, IT WOULD OF TAKENED JUST ONE COP TO STAND IN THE MIDDLE OF THAT INTERSECTION AND SHOOT UP IN THE AIR,AND THE BLACKS WOULD OF RAN BACK HOME,BUT NO! LET THEM HAVE THEIR CAKE AND EAT IT TOO!....SO WE AS LATINOS NOT ONLY GET CAUGHT WITH HARDJOBS THAT PAY LOW WAGES,BUT WE ARE THE VICTIMS OF RACISM FROM OUR OWN GOVERNMENT,BLACK SHOOTS LATINO,NOT A HATE CRIME!BUT LATINO SHOOTS A BLACK,AND NOT ONLY IS IT A HATE CRIME,BUT THE MEDIA EVEN STATES THAT ITS ETHNIC CLEANSING,AND TO TOP IT OFF THE "GANG!" IS LATINO,BUT THE BLACKS ARE "BLACK RESIDENTS!" NOW IF THE BLACKS DIDNT HAVE A GANG THAT IS JUST THE SAME ON THE GUILTY SIDE,THEN WHY A PEACE TREATY WITH MR.ALI??WHAT GANG IS THE BLACK ONE??THERES NO MENTION OF IT AT ALL!THERE FOR THEY ARE BABYSITTING THE BLACKS ONCE AGAIN!
BUT ON THE OTHER HAND 2 LATINOS KILL A LIL LATIN GIRL,AND THEY GET OFF EASY,SUPPOSELY ITS SELF DEFENSE!! AND THE REAL MOTIVE TO LETTING THEM OFF EASY IS FOR THE PUBLIC TO MAKE AN OUTCRY AND SO THEN OUR POLITICIANS AND POLICE DEPARTMENTS ASK AND PUSH FOR STIFFER LAWS! WICH IN TURN WILL BE TARGETED TOWARDS GANGS,BUT THEN AGAIN ARRESTING YOUR WAY TO PEACE IS NOT THE ANSWER,IF FOUND GUILTY OF A CRIME,THEN IT SHOULD BE PUNISHABLE,BUT WHY THE SPECIAL PREFFERENCE FOR THE BLACKS???THEY WERENT SLAVES! THEY DONT KNOW ANYTHING ABOUT RACISM AS THE MUCH OLDER BLACKS KNOW IT,SO WHY DOES OUR LOCAL,STATE AND FEDERAL GOVERNMENTS ARE QUICK TO DEPORT AND USE THE RICO ACT AND CONCENTRATE THE GANG ISSUE OVERALL JUST ON THE LATIN RACE??RECENTLY THEY SEEM TO BE PUTTING THE LATINO GANG MEMBERS AS RACIST!AND THE BLACKS ARE SOLEY VICTIMS??THATS BULLSHIT! WE DONT EVEN HAVE ANY ACTIVIST TO STAND UP FOR OUR RAZA AND HAVE THE BALLS TO PRESS CERTAIN ISSUES,I HATE THE FACT THAT ANY KID HAS TO DIE INNOCENTLY WETHER THE KID IS BROWN OR BLACK, IT SHOULD NOT HAPPEN AT ALL!! BUT WHEN SHIT LIKE THAT HAPPENS AND THE PUBLIC GETS THE SENSE THAT THERES NO CONTROL THEN POLITICIANS AND POLICE ACT ON IT,AND OF COURSE THE LATINOS ARE THE TARGET,BUT WHEN EVERYTHINGS CALM INSTEAD OF FOCUSSING ON HOW TO CURVE GANG VIOLENCE THEY ACT LIKE IT DONT HAPPEN!..SHIT THE GED COPS GET BORED AND STIR THE POT TO GET THE BEEFS ROLLING!"JOB SECURITY" AND ANOTHER WAY TO MAKE IT TO DETECTIVE!I DONT KNOW IF I MAKE SENSE CAUSE IM WORKING RIGHT NOW BUT CMON!!

SNS, right on the money hometown. I was wondering who this O'Gorman fella was. Since none of the 2 by 4's showed, makes you wonder how high this vatos arms really were. Carnales on the inside aren't going to be trucing with the brothers over Cheryl Greene. If anything, it was payback for the Chef who was gunned down on 204 a few days before Thanksgiving. BUT, that one gets sweeped under the rug because us Mexicanos are content people and we roll with the punches and lick our wounds. We get back on our feet and move forward. Blacks on the other hand, scream bloody murder and claim we are stilling thier jobs, we're racist, "clan with a tan." blah, blah, blah.

Yea right, I never once meet a black that worked half as hard as a Mexican. But they do work very hard at pulling the race card and calling attention to situations that go wrong when they themselves are somewhat at fault...ahem, Cheryl Greene hanging with thugs and playing with fire...enough of this. We'll just wait and see what happens.

I have mixed opinions on the signing (or lack of signing) the “truce” by actual gang members. The daily breeze quoted a 204th gang member stating they would sign a peace treaty if there were no gang injunctions issued against them. Well I agree with one post saying that sounded more like “do not interfere with our drug dealing” and we won't shoot anybody for a few weeks. I called it, “Negotiating with Terrorists”. I saw on the local news yesterday how the LAPD, Sheriff and DEA are putting more resources in the area. Finally the local news media and politicians are giving more attention to the huge problems in Los Angeles. I wish the national news would give this more coverage but I guess Rosie O’Donnel, Donald Trump, and American Idol are still more news-worthy. I wonder why more Spanish radio stations are not giving this issue a very high priority. I would like to see radio de-jays El Piolin and El Cucuy get more people interested and involved just like they did during the immigration protests.

Without massive support and change of attitude about street gangs the gang problems will never be solved. I will use another post here as example who says “sure we had a few drive bys over the summer and a couple of deaths but shit Costa Mesa, is no Santa Ana” with this type of attitude, our gang problems will never change. We defend our primo, oh my primo just chills with the local gang he does nothing wrong. Well until we change are tolerance, acceptance and quit defending street thugs things will never change. I have seen this attitude for most of my life and gangs just keep growing. I remember going to a city council meeting in my small town, and hundreds of people showed up to protest a new trash can the city was proposing. I have been to city council meetings in Los Angeles a city of millions and only a few people show up. So people of L.A. you need to get off your couch and get involved.

Yesterday Mayor V. also gave a pretty good detail about his ideas for improving schools, including additional physical education and art programs for the schools. He also talked about providing a forum/method for parents to easily get involved with the schools their kids are enrolled in. I never understood why so many parents were opposed to the Mayor taking over the, L.A. has the worst performing schools why would people be opposed to a trying a change. I can understand current school board members being worried about their jobs so they do not change. And I am not a lawyer so I do not understand all the legal issues involved and the courts objection to the Mayor’s school takeover plans. All we need now is method of getting those lazy and stupid parents to the schools. And maybe offer parenting classes to the burro parents that do not have any parenting skills.

I got to give Mayor Villaraigosa an “A” for effort we will see how much results he is able to achieve. As we say in Spanish “Que Dios te Bendiga” Mayor V.

Good article in the LA Times today by Steve Lopez Jan 19, latimes.com,local news section,
"gang problem needs more than cops"
I can't manage the "cut and paste" but maybe JIM can as he seems to be whiz at it.
Seems Nagee ALi and his "gang truce" fell on it's face when no vatos from 204th showed up for the TV cameras and Ali's photo op production.
ANd why would they? Maybe Ali thinks this Brown vs Black war is like some old Calvary against the Apaches movie. It's way more complicated than that for sure.
And it always strikes me as odd that the Black community is always portrayed as being victimized by the Mexican Americans who are supposedly stealing thier job opportunities, and taking over thier neighborhoods.
Maybe somebody should do a newstory about many of the previously Black areas of LA like around Washington Blvd. between Central Ave. and San Pedro St.

10 or 20 years ago after the Watts riots and as the more abitious and educated Blacks moved on, the area was just an extension of skid row with all these black crack heads and winos in the streets and all the business's left and the houses were just crash pads and ruins.
Then the Mexican Immigrants moved in, and now it's almost all Brown.
You can visit this area which is typical of many areas where the Mexicans have moved into, in previous black neighborhoods and the change is striking.
Now there are all kinds of business's and hustles going on, the streets are full of families and people. the homes and buildings are being fixed up and used,(true that in typical Mexican fashion the bldgs are painted blue and green and yellow, and there's twenty people living in every house and remodeled garage!)but this is a typical immigrant story that is as AMerican as apple pie and lived over and over again with many ethnic groups. Shit these areas are like beehives with all the activity going on, (and now taxes and fees being collected instead of a giant welfare drainpipe like before),
So I understand why the Black People are concerned due to the takeover of their neighborhoods but shit if you want to survive and thrive you got to hustle a buck like the Mexican's are doing.
I know a bunch of Black Construction CO owners and they all without exception have Mexican workers and treat them like family due to there loyalty and hard work.
Many of these Black Co owners speak Spanish and have embraced the Mexican culture, so what does this say about Black young men of working age? They have to get it together or they will be swept away into the dustbin of history cause that's the way it works in the good ol USA.

I have to say, in my own country way that you're packing some brass nalgas,Wally by showing that comment of the interview by Brentin Mock from "Intelligence Report".. His statement that you "volunteered for the LAPD" to do undercover work and "long-term surveillance" puts you in a dangerous light, my friend. WE've always known that you had to "straddle the fence" to get the intel you bring here, and that your dedication to the cause and your unbiased delivery probably rendered you a dispensation from the darker forces on one side of that fence. My hope is that Mock's description of your stance is'nt misconstrued by less careful readers and some foolio does'nt put YOU "in the hat"..Stranger drama has happened out there in paradise. Also I favor the Sig over the Glock. More heft, but reliable to beat the band..

Does the failure of this truce really surprise anybody? What has society come to when people of the effected community have to put their hopes in the hands of charlatans and media whores such as Najee Ali? I am unsure as to how many here actually read the new proposal for getting tough on gangs (if you are from LA you should read it as it was you who paid for it at about $222 per page) but this is another expensive failure in the making. A system that goes from the extremes of police brutality to a complete hands off approach secondary to the fear and whining from activists or as a result of political expediency has never shown itself capable of handling this problem. Forty years and billions of dollars (at the state level alone) down the rathole and the gang problem is bigger than ever and growing by the day.

Gava, just for the record, these were ride-alongs on some selected ops and a volunteer in neighborhood watch programs in selected areas around LA as part of the research. Nothing close to how it was portrayed in the piece. You talk to the press, you take your chances. I also told the guy I volunteer in mentoring and reading programs. That doesn't sound as sexy though.

Hollenbeck, as much as I liked to believe that the Blacks on Florence and Nomandie chased the LAPD out of their own city when I was an 18 year old, early '90s version of Tom Hayden watching those riots on television, as I got older and read more I came to the conclusion that the police stood down for more political reasons as opposed to being scared of the rioters.

A lot of people believe that Gates ordered his units to leave the scene of the riots to create a red herring showing average citizens what the 'scumbags' are capable of doing if the LAPD isn't allowed to crack some heads out there. Obviously, this backfired on him, he lost his job, will be rememberd by the mainstream as perhaps one of the most racist Law Enforcement heads of our time, and the LAPD has since been under harsh scrutinity for not only it's aggressive tacticts before the riots, but also the way they handled the riots and then later that Rampart scandal, which made the four cops who beat King really look like stressed out cops just doing their job. Going overboard and roughing up a suspect is one thing, mingling with gangsters like Suge Knight, stealing dope out of the evidence room to sell it and boost your own street cred, then killing anyone who not only can incriminate you but also anyone who disrespects you or has an affair with you girlfriend, is another. Rafael Perez and David Mack managed to make Daryl Gates look like Barney Fife.

......

On Blacks being lazy....

Might I recommend some of you taking a tour of the American South, and observing some of the old buildings, some of them even government buildings, that were built by Blacks, free of charge.

My belief is that many Blacks since the abolishment of slavery feel they are owed for the work that the and their ancestors did (in the case of modern day Blacks, their ancestors).

Latinos lick their wounds and move on while Blacks whine and complain...hmmm. I'd like to see the overall public assistance, welfare, medicare etc. statistics in this country before I came to that conclusion.

Wally-Fay I did not think I would see my cut and paste job on the interview you did, but I took my chances and voila you put it up. So thanks for the post, I dont think that interview left you looking to good to some of the Wallistas. But like the Gava said "tienes muchos huevos" (well not exactly like that) for putting that up. Te avientastes!

I attended a seminar in December and had the opportunity to hear Mundo address a Gang Conference at that time. He responded to a similar question posed to him.

He said that the Mexican Mafia, in their reaction to prison gang rivals, historically have considered the BGF and other blacks "worty opponents" and the EME guys derive more pleasure and consider it more of a "feather in the cap" to kill a BGF member than an NF member, whom they consider almost at the bottom rung of their enemies' list.
He also mentioned something very interesting. He said that although BGF members are predominately black and EME members Hispanic, the reason they have an ongoing war with BGF has more to do with "power" than it has to do with "race".

I read some of ITH's previous posts from Tijuana Jailer and he explains this perfectly.

It's sad to see the state of confusion and idiodicy Southern California is in. You go to a Black website you read the exact same things that are said on a Latino on in reverse.

All the same "whining" and crying that Latinos claim the Blacks do are the same ones that Latinos do. Blacks feel that they are targeted unfairly by both Latinos and the police. Latinos feel the same way. Blacks feel most laws are inacted to put them in prisons, same as Latinos.

When that Black guy killed the Latino Girl in the Jungles it was on the news for a month and the BPS took a big hit for the actions of the killer from law enforcement. Everything goes both ways and ignorance is ignorance.

Latinos who are in the streets and Blacks who are in the streets dont fear each other. The innocent civilians are the one who cry foul on both sides. Anyone who feels either side is crying when they are victimized unfairly (meaning no gang/drug ties) is ignorant. No one should unfairly be pulled into battles that they are not asking to be a part of no matter what race or creed.

And to the poster above me you sound like an ididot. That 8th grader was not a drug addict selling drugs. Help stop the ignorance, dont spread it.

So-what about when a gang of 30-40 black kids beat 3 white girls while yelling racial epithets at them? Their families tried to use the media to influence the judges and juries decision and threatened to riot if they weren't set free. I posted this before on another thread and got censored by Wally, so I doubt if this will make it to the board as he is obviously biased in this particular case. The families set up a media circus on the steps of the courthouse while using veiled threats against the city if the outcome wasn't to their liking. I guess in the families eyes it's cool to victimize white girls,or any whites for that matter.

I censored you because you used an inappropriate word when describing the attackers.

What happened in Long beach was wrong. If those are the ones who did it they should be punished to the full extent of the law. Where's your point? The point is everyone is pointing fingers at each other. Instead of uniting as a community and doing something to stop the ignorance, each side sits back and waits for something to happen so they can point at each other and say "see I told you". Ignorance begets ignorance and everyone taking part in any type of racial violence or violence period should be dealt with. Regardless of race and creed. If people are too busy blaming things "on the man", complaining about how lazy and worthless Blacks are, or crying about how the Mexicans are ruining things they have to much time on their hands and if there so concerned they should do things to make the situation in our communities better.

Hollenbeck you sound retarded. I hope La Eme or the Avenues don't recruit dumbphucks like you.

Then again, some of those big brothers would love you to pay them a visit in the SHU. They will tear you a new azzhole. :)

I am a black man, who could care less what color you are. If you're cool peoples, you're cool peoples. The one common thread I hear is "blacks do this" Latinos do this" and each uses the other side to further justify their actions and behavior. The bottom line is wrong is wrong. If you're black and do a crime, it's WRONG. If you're latino and do a crime, you're WRONG.

What I find interesting is that the only people truly benefiting from this "war" is rich white people. Let's examine this. Black shoots latino or latino shoots black, now the police force catches them. The police force uses weapons and cars that are owned by SMITH and WESSON, and more bullet proof vests owned by a WHITE COMPANY. Then sent to court where more than likely it's a white judge. Then sent to prison which are privatized by WHITE OWNERS. When it gets overcrowded, they build more jails, and that billion dollar contract goes to another WHITE company. The whole plan is a decoy. Imagine if we took our efforts off ethnic cleansing and put it into schools, and education how much better we will be. The M. Mafia is using power on the outside to really only control power inside. Let me ask any latino, black person this question.

How much of your day is truly impacted by a black or latino person? Does their prescence really affect what you want to do with your life? No, of course not. It's silly. To the gov't Latino gangs are today, what black gangs were in the 80's. They all see us as less than.

What latino's do now, with hustling jobs and trying to build a life for themself is the same thing blacks did in the 60's. Eventually it is all going to come down to the haves or the have nots in this world like it always does. With blacks in the 60's once segregation ended, those who took advantage of opportunities went in one direction and those who didn't or didn't know how went in another. The same will inevitably happen with latinos as well. It's the way this country is set up. It is set up to have you think you are better than someone else. Which is what is happeneing on the streets. It's sad. It really is. because 10 years from no, 20 years from now what happens. Lets say the M. Mafia gets rid of every black person in los angeles. In the state of california. Then what do they do? Then who do they go after? What do you win by doing that? What is accomplished? What is the end goal? So, you have an all latino neighborhood. Does that mean that now you're going to have more opportunities? I tell that to black peeople all the time, nobody can impact your life more than you!!
